I switched phones the other day.The 1st phon eI was able to set my lock screen with a provided wall papar. On teh new phone, it says I have no photos and will not let me go to wallpapers. Could this be because I hace swapped out the 2gig micro sd with a new sd card?Because I know I did it on the other phone.

However if I try to change the lock screen wallpaper, it doesn't give me the choice of "wallpaper gallery":menu -> wallpaper -> lock screen..just takes me directly to my photo albums.How can I choose lock screen wallpaper from the existing wallpaper gallery?

I have been reading through the manual for the Desire and it states that you can have a different lock screen wallpaper to the wallpaper when the screen has been unlocked.
However, I can't seem to manage this at all.
Does anyonw know if this is possible or if it is an error in the HTC manual?
The reason being I would like to have a nice bright lock screen image but a normal black background for when apps and widgets are all over it.
On the commercial I see each screen they flip through has a different wallpaper. How do I do this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for this topic but I couldnt find it. I just upgraded my htc hero to android 2.1. I never set a password for the lock screen. So it ended up putting a password on its own. I called sprint tech support and talked to them for about an hour and finally figured out that the password is my google account password. Thats all well and good but I am not a big fan of password protecting my phone because I really dont have any information of value on it, but I do like having the lock screen so I dont pocket diel. I found a few programs that will disable the lock screen that will get around this problem, kind of. Does anyone have a clue how to disable the password protection and still keep the lock screen. Its just really irritating because I dont usually lock my phone and every time I try to wake it I have to unlock it.
Can I remove the lock screen function from my phone? I don't want my phone to have a screen lock. Just want to hit the power button (or any button) and have it turn on to whatever app was last open. I'm currently rooted with Fresh and Gumbo if it matters.
View 15 Replies View RelatedFresh 1.1 lock screen is clear. I personally do not like that, BUT when I try to load another one via Pre-kitchen, it loads, reboots, and its still the same. I click to clear cached lock screen, reboots, still the same. Anyone know why it won't change? the boot screen changed first try, so that is good, just that damn lock screen. I don't like the clear thingy.

My main problem with it is that, if I use the stock Messaging app, the messages show on the bottom...even though i have my phone locked with a pattern lock. I know I can use handcent and not have to deal with it, but I just want to know how to get rid of the stupid lock screen. I've read around a few places, and I know it's possible on 1.5, but I'm not too sure if it's possible for 2.1. 1. Can't lock screen while in a call. Red button just hangs up the call.
2. Apps cannot be installed to sd card. Internal Phone Storage after a device wipe shows about 136MB free. I downloaded about 5 or 6 apps and the phone ran out of room. I deleted the apps, but the space was not reclaimed. This is why I had to reset the device. Now I am afraid to install apps without filling it up again.
3. Bluetooth does no always connect back to my headset. sometime I have to turn on/off bluetooth on phone. Sometimes I have to reboot phone. One time I installed Pandora and bluetooth would not work until I figured out that removing Pandora would fix it.
4. Camera is no good.
5. WIFI cannot connect to an N router running in mixed mode (a,b,g,n). You must "dumb" down the router to b,g mode in order to connect the phone. This means hat other users who have no issues with N have to suffer the reduced speed of b,g.
6. No way to "EXIT" an app to reclaim RAM.
7. KB not as accurate as the iphone.
8. I have disabled HTC Sense and it is still slow. For example, often when I load favorites, nothing displays for about 3-4 seconds. This is not acceptable.
Overall, not a very tested or mature OS. I feel like I should not be starting from scratch like this. The folks at Android are guilty of using the consumer as a guinea pig. This is not acceptable. We are not reinventing the wheel, so why are obvious features missing?
