Is anyone's Google Latitude updating? I live in VA and it still shows me and my Family in NC from last weekend. Is there a bug with this? I'd like to use it to keep tabs on my 13 yr old.

It used to work fine but about 3 months ago it had just stopped updating on either of our phones. I have a friend on my friends list and his latitude position updates on my phoned fine (although her has disappeared also in the last few days also). The only way I can get too see my wifes location oon my phone is for her to open google maps on her phone to update her position. The same is true for her to see my location on her phone. No settings have been changed so I don't know what had happened, does anyone know how to fix this bug?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen i select add widget on the home wcreen, i have three photo items listed. Which can i delete from those lists, just the android ones or both android and htc? Id like to remove latitude(widget) and one of the music ones and two of the photo ones. I show photo frame, photo album, picture frame or album...i want them gone. I also read around here that htc sense is hindering. Can i delete htc sense? im on 2.1 official, rooted. Alre, what is the best and easiest way to tether and how?

Google Talk photos are not updated to reflect my Google Account.i.e. Some people have no photo displayed on the phone, but on my computer (in my Google Account) there is actually a photo, whether it be one the user selected or I set for them. And the photos that are there are not updated when/if someone changes it. The old one remains there.
2. Google Latitude photos do just the same. They are not updating... Anyboy experiencing similar problems, or have a fix? The photos seem to update, but slower in my contacts (People). But they don't update in the Google-based apps, which is wierd.
I used Google Maps as I had some running around to do. I was not using GPS, I have it turned off and have full HSPA (H) showing on phone. Anyways, I put in my first stop and GMaps gave me the directions right away... so no problem.After I was done at the first place, I put in my second stop. GMaps showed exactly the same directions . I've been home now for about 1/2 and still, the exact same directions no matter what I put in.I have not turned the phone off/on or anything like that, because quite frankly, I shouldn't have to!Anyone get this happening with GMaps?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else had a problem with their emails not updating at the time interval they have it set to (or at all) since the update? At first, no matter how many times I refreshed, my new mails were not showing up. I tried deleting my email account from my phone and then adding it back. This fixed the problem for a day or two, but now I am having emails show up twice in the inbox, and my phone will update basically whenever it wants to. I only realized this, because every time I have checked my mail on my computer I have 5-10 emails more than are showing up on my phone. WTH?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted the phone a while back and was using fresh 1.1, probably over a month ago. Recently I've been missing incoming text messages and now not receiving my exchange emails, so I figured I'd go ahead and update to 2.0d (sticking with fresh). I downloaded the zip and flashed it but it didn't boot up (waited over 30 minutes) it just stayed on with the animated HTC text. Multiple attempts with the same results. Even tried Damagecontrol 2.08 and it boots and and I even get the sprint animated logo but stays at the htc "quietly brillant" and goes no further.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI changed my main Google/gmail account recently, and decided to update my Hero, but having cleared the data from Google Apps (in Manage Applications) I now can't connect my new account due to the problems described here and here. I'm pretty much resigned to doing a factory reset (annoying though), but is there any way I can back up SMS messages? Some data I can extract from the SD Card, but I can't install anything to backup SMS as I'm unable to install anything from the market. So if anyone has any info on either of these issues I'd be really grateful - I'd either like to avoid having to do a reset, or find some way of backing-up without having access to the market.

This has happened with Pandora, Key Ring Finder, Audio Manager and countless other apps. With some other apps, after updating the application, it will work fine, but the name will change to something odd like com.chompsms.Well, i was reading through Key Ring Finder update and realized that something is occuring specifically with the HTC Hero that is causing this with application updates.But there is a ::drum roll please:: workaround! When updating an app, do not select the 'update' option! This is where the programs become corrupt. Instead, click 'uninstall', then reinstall the application. The freshly installed copy will work perfectly!

View 7 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone (HTC Hero 200 running 2.1) a few days ago, went with Fresh 2.1, but after having some trouble with WiFi Tethering I opted for Damage Control. I did a lot of searching online and found Damage Control 0.999999% and installed it on my phone. It is working okay for the most part, but I found out that there are a number of 2.0 versions out there so I decided I wanted to update to a new version.
1) Version 2.09.1 would not load (and I read that it was unstable so I removed it and rolled back.
2) I went with version 2.08.1 and when I rebooted the phone it would get stuck on the boot-up screen and would not go any further (I went in, wiped the phone, went back to the initial Kernel I installed (2.6.29-8f4e5478 htc-kernel@and18-2 #1), but it still wouldn't work.
3) I research other Damage Control ROMS and went with 2.06.1 Lite to download the DCUpdater, thinking that if I went with this edition I would use it to get to 2.08.1, but same result as before.
Do I need to download a new Kernel? Do I need to start from scratch and root my phone all over again?
When I had Google Latitude on my Crackberry it updated my location on a timed interval in the background, on the Droid X it only updates when I open the Google Map app, is there anyway to have it update in the background?

Is there an a Google Latitude application that I should have or do I access everything through Google Maps? When I go the www.google.com/latitude on my G1, it offers me the option of "launching" Latitude but it just takes me to Google Maps. From there, I cannot see the locations of my Google "friends" (who have agreed to show location), neither does my own location show up on the Latitude homepage on the web (I have settings turned to "detect my location automatically").
View 13 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View Relatediv heard ppl who downloaded android 2.2 online and installed it themselves on there phone since its not being offered ota. but im wondering if its safe? the phone is not actually getting 2.2 ever, so doing this would be my own choice. but im wondering if it will run smoothly, better than 2.1 update 1, and if there will be any problems or if anything that may not work because of compatability problems with the phone. because some people have said that 2.2 isnt being released to the hero because the phone is not physically capeable of it do to software and hardware (such as space ram speeds etc.), and others have said they installed it themselves and it works fine, that its actually made to run using less space then 2.1 making it better.

Is anyone else interested in how Google voice will affect calling minutes? If you currently have your GV number set to call your Sprint cell and your incoming call is from another cell phone will you be charged for the minutes? If you setup your phone so GV is used to call all numbers that you dial will you be charged for calling other cellular number because GV masks the number? I have been through every level of support that Sprint offers and no one can answer me. Sadly tier 3 technical support told me "Google Voice is useless on a cell phone and you would not want to use this anyway". I had nothing more to say after that!

I rooted my sprint HTC hero and installed CM6 on it the other day, and everything is working great... except voicemail. I was using the Sprint VVM app, and that worked, but I got that annoying SMS message with each new voicemail, so I decided to switch to Google Voice (for voicemail only). It seems to work, except when my friends (who also have Sprint) call, and I don't answer the call, they either get a fast busy signal or they hear a voice say something like "Call cannot be completed. Goodbye" and then it hangs up.
Calling from land-lines and other cells seems to work ok? I just enabled Google Voice today, so do I need to wait a certain amount of time before it works Sprint to Sprint, or? Has anyone else seen this before? I should mention, it only happens on unanswered calls. If i dismiss the call before it's done ringing, it properly goes to google voicemail.
