Does anybody know how to get the "flash 10.1" to work on the HTC HERO, running the latest 2.1 sprint ROM (ver 5, not 6), im rooted.
Ive downloaded the Flash 10.1.apk, & installed it but not working.

So I notice flash does not work on this phone. Am I missing something? Seems odd that the big "f" appears on Such an advanced phone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter using Fresh's 2.0d for the last month, I decided to try DC 2.08. I did a Titanium Backup, copied 2.08 to the SD, wiped the phone and the dalvik and installed from the SD card. After the installation, the phone boots up but is stuck on the HTC logo screen (the white background that says "quietly brilliant"). It looks like it is looping as it shows the sprint screen every few minutes before going back to the HTC screen. I've tried wiping and reinstalling, but I am getting the same result.
FWIW, I root using Fresh Kitchen's auto-root if that matters.
Any suggestions? Should I try to flash Fresh's 2.1.2?
For those that already have the Hero, have you tried tethering? If so, does it work?

View 48 Replies View RelatedYes, I have looked around the forum for the answer to this question but no one has the same issue as me (as far as I know)Okay, when I try to set up my school email on my Hero, I get an authentication failure and it says something like " Authentication failed. Please verify your username and password."I have tried using the settings that google has on the website and the school doesn't have anything about setting up an email on a phone ( any phone).I tried changing the server to imap.grcc.edu and I had to confirm the certificate but then it gave the error again. I also tried taking the @email.grcc.edu from the username and that didn't work either. I am really frustrated right now. And no, I do not want to forward it to my other email. I like to keep my school and personal emails separate. Sorry if I sound a bit mean but I know that's what some of you will ask me.
View 24 Replies View RelatedOk, my phone worked perfectly before I installed 2.1. I did a hard reset before I installed 2.1. It ran fine for about 20 minutes while I played with all the new features (I really like 2.1 when its working) but literally about every 20 minutes when I check my phone, the damn thing is OFF. Its really pissing me off. So I turn it back on, and within 20 minutes its off again. Im about to smash this damn thing. I've reinstalled 2.1 twice, hard reset, soft reset, and every combination of the 3. WTF is the problem!?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am asking cause i have 5.3, the OTA updater will not download the updates at all, its telling me that it cant be downloaded at this time~ it will only allow me to download 5.4 which i don't want. now cause the instructions tell you to flash the fix right after flashing the rom will it still work for me? really wanna try out one of these wallpapers ive downloaded.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI went from a stock 1.5 to 2.1 using the Sprint 2.1 RUU and all is well. I understand it's a dev build and as such is already root but when I trying installing android-wifi-tether (both 2.0 and 1.6) it all looks well except when I touch the icon to start and it fails. The 1.6 version did report I didn't have root.
What do I need to do in ADB/shell to ensure the proper permissions are there for AWT? This is the last thing I want to get working and I'm happy.
Do I need to remount the filesystem as rw? Add superuser? Not sure what's needed.
For fear of sounding like a dope I'm going to ask. I was able to do the root because I was able to follow the step by step. I can't seem to find any step by steps on flashing a new Rom. I don't understand what making a nandroid means. I feel like a total Goober asking but if I eont figure anymore I really wasted my time going thru the root process.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm wanting to flash back to 2.0d but didn't save my nandroid for that particular ROM. I'm currently running 2.1.1, and have been for some time now. While I like 2.1.1, 2.0d just seemed to run better for me. My question is do I need to wipe before I flash or can I just flash 2.0d over 2.1.1? I didn't wipe when going from 2.0d to 2.1.1 and everything worked fine but I wasn't sure if I could do the same thing going the other way.

I use this browser on my NokiaN95. It's ridiculously fast and it pretty much does everything, even Flash... I've posted a link to their platform requirements page which is way over my newbie head -- so if you are a bit technically minded, can you tell me if this would work on the Droid?
