You know how your phone, by default, will show the time and just below that your location along with the weather? Some times my phone will not know its location. Along with that some apps will not function. The "Market" will not function. It is as if it has lost connection to Sprint. However, the phone works fine. Some times a reboot will resolve the issue. Any ideas?

Android Central posted a FAQ for the Hero that linked to a post on their forums suggesting that this would speed up the Hero. I must have somehow missed this because it's the first I've ever heard about it.Anyone know if there's any truth to it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently cleared cache and data on stock browser. Since then Google search engine website just says acquiring location and never actually acquires it. I opened Google maps, worked fine and all other location apps are working.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI rooted and installed the gumbo kernel and fresh 1.1 yesterday. Everything went smooth. The only problem I have noticed is that the browsers can no longer access my location. I put the location service back on the phone but no luck. When I go to a site like buzz or access the google home page it can't get my location. Any advice on this? Not a huge deal but I know it worked with the default browser beforehand and doesn't now. I've noticed when I use something that needs GPS the gps icon appears but it doesn't stay there all the time.

I understand that if I turn on gps options it becomes much more accurate, but it's a real battery eater. coming from a 2 year old samsung mysto on Helio network that ran google maps down to the meter for me (and only needed to be recharged every 4 days) it seems like this should work better.Am I missing something? That little mysto couldn't have been running active GPS pinging the whole time. What made it so much better at locating?

View 15 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

We have spent hours on the phone with Sprint support and TelNav (the supplier of Sprint Nav) and they told us that the hardware on my Moment is faulty and to replace the phone! The problem with the Nav is that it sometimes does not register my location on the road, gives incorrect directions, and sometimes the correct direction too late (i.e. after we already missed the turn). All the necessary settings on phone are on: GPS and Wifi - which is what we were told.So - does anyone have a fully functioning Sprint Nav on their Samsung Moment phone updated to CL14?

View 1 Replies View Relatediv heard ppl who downloaded android 2.2 online and installed it themselves on there phone since its not being offered ota. but im wondering if its safe? the phone is not actually getting 2.2 ever, so doing this would be my own choice. but im wondering if it will run smoothly, better than 2.1 update 1, and if there will be any problems or if anything that may not work because of compatability problems with the phone. because some people have said that 2.2 isnt being released to the hero because the phone is not physically capeable of it do to software and hardware (such as space ram speeds etc.), and others have said they installed it themselves and it works fine, that its actually made to run using less space then 2.1 making it better.

The only tome I had any frustrations was getting the clips unhooked also removing the cracked piece from the super strong adhesive. I know this sounds crazy, but the absolute #1 thing I need is Internet sharing and tethering capability; even more so than a phone itself. I must be able to connect my phone to my laptop, either by usb or bluetooth, and have it working in less than 30 seconds each time. I currently run Ubuntu 9.4 and Windows Vista/XP. Sprint said itself that the Hero/Moment would be getting software updates. They didn't say 2.0, but HTC already said they're skipping 1.6 for 2.0. It would be suicide for Sprint to go to 1.6 when Verizon will have 2.0 in 3 days.

I herd somewhere there is an application that can change your hero profiel by your GPS location. So that when I go the the cinema is goes to silent. When im am work, it's work profile with wifi ect. When I am at home it's home profile with blue tooth and so on. Do anyone know if there is such and application, and if so, what is it called?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Hero rebooted itself when i cut it off and cut it back on due to aggravation of lag. after spending half the day fooling with getting back some apps, my contacts from google and the whole issue with syncing facebook to my contacts. i thought i could easily just look up my city for the weather widget location.
Well before the reboot my weather showed just fine, my location and everything. now my city isn't even in the data base and my gps and such is turned on. some of the directions ive read on using the gps to find my location has become a headache because i don't think i have those features.
When i go into my weather settings and click the + sign it goes straight to search location. i type in the name of my city and it doesn't come up.
