I herd somewhere there is an application that can change your hero profiel by your GPS location. So that when I go the the cinema is goes to silent. When im am work, it's work profile with wifi ect. When I am at home it's home profile with blue tooth and so on. Do anyone know if there is such and application, and if so, what is it called?

I'm buying a new Hero (the one i've got is white, and will be selling it - and changing for the brown or MOKA one) anyway, i'm trying to figure out how i can basically 'clone' the info from one hero (contacts, emails, passwords, paid applications) to the new one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've seen on some peoples phones they have a widget for different sound profiles. Airplane, vibrate, and silent modes. This morning I dl'd more HTC widgets and I found on that said 'Profile.' The details say, "Quickly switch your phone's profile to normal, silent, or vibrate." Once it dl'd I found the profile for 'Airplane' was added to my Settings widgets, but I've found nothing for normal, silent, or vibrate modes. Am I missing something, not looking in the right place? Should I uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday after being utterly sick of waiting for Orange to release 2.1, I made the leap and rooted my phone. I found it fairly straight forward and played around with a few ROMs finally finding VillainROM 12 to suit me the best. Only problem I've encountered so far, I can't link Facebook profiles to my Google contacts at all.
When I'm in the People App, I go over the Sync screen, enter my Facebook username and password to enable it. Then when I go onto a contact, scroll to the Sync screen and press link profile, it says there are no matches and there are no Facebook profiles in the list to link it with. I just get the message "No Matches Found" in the list instead. I have tried logging out of Facebook for Sense and logging back in, but its to no avail. The list still stays empty. I had all my contacts linked back in 1.5 HTC Sense.
I've seen this feature on my Hero, but, have never used it. What happens when I do this. How do you UNDO this if you don't like what it does?

I do not want it to be used for one particular connection, my Bury car kit, but do not mind if it is off all the time. I used to be able to do this in WM with a little app called BTMusic - does anybody know of an equivalent in Android please? I have searched the market without success.
I know I can long press on the connection and tell it not to stream media, which switches off A2DP, but I can't make that stick. Next time they pair it is back on again and I then have to go in and manually switch it off again. A pain when all I want to do is get my sat nav speaking to me when I sit in the car!
New to HTC Hero and Android and i've had a little problem present itself this morning with my Facebook contacts and Phonebook. Basically, when i set the phone up, i linked everyone that i had On facebook with thier contact info on my phone. All the photo's linked over and i've been receiving updates etc as your supposed to. However this morning i looked trhough my phone and on the widget where you show your favourites, as well as the whole phone book, the profile pictures have disappeared!
Has this happened to anyone before, is it a common problem (i couldnt find any previous threads etc), and can someone assist in fixing it again?
I want profile pictures of my contacts on both my phone and web email. Which is the best way to do this. If I match pictures to contacts on my phone will it sync with my web mail contacts, or will it work if I sync my google contacts on my web mail, then sync to my phone. Will either achieve my goal of having the picture attached to the contact on both my phone and web browser? OR must I do each one on the phone, and on the web mail browser?

The sync icon (arrows chasing each other in a circle) is stuck at the top of the screen and my battery is disappearing rapidly. I've done a couple battery pulls and reboots with no change.What I'd NORMALLY do is update the data profile under menu/settings/about phone/system updates... But something I didn't know about CM6 is that this option is not there. (unless it's hidden somewhere else, then please point me in the right direction)."No problem", I think There are other ways to skin this cat. I type in ##3282#, which should allow me into a menu that allows me to refresh the data service... The phone doesn't respond at all "Odd", I think. So I try ##786#, which should open the reset menu... The phone didn't respond to that, either.

Along with that some apps will not function. The "Market" will not function. It is as if it has lost connection to Sprint. However, the phone works fine. Some times a reboot will resolve the issue. View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Hero rebooted itself when i cut it off and cut it back on due to aggravation of lag. after spending half the day fooling with getting back some apps, my contacts from google and the whole issue with syncing facebook to my contacts. i thought i could easily just look up my city for the weather widget location.
Well before the reboot my weather showed just fine, my location and everything. now my city isn't even in the data base and my gps and such is turned on. some of the directions ive read on using the gps to find my location has become a headache because i don't think i have those features.
When i go into my weather settings and click the + sign it goes straight to search location. i type in the name of my city and it doesn't come up.
Android Central posted a FAQ for the Hero that linked to a post on their forums suggesting that this would speed up the Hero. I must have somehow missed this because it's the first I've ever heard about it.Anyone know if there's any truth to it?

I long press the photo, I then choose edit, then move......but then how do I actually move the photo/file to it's new location?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted and installed the gumbo kernel and fresh 1.1 yesterday. Everything went smooth. The only problem I have noticed is that the browsers can no longer access my location. I put the location service back on the phone but no luck. When I go to a site like buzz or access the google home page it can't get my location. Any advice on this? Not a huge deal but I know it worked with the default browser beforehand and doesn't now. I've noticed when I use something that needs GPS the gps icon appears but it doesn't stay there all the time.

I understand that if I turn on gps options it becomes much more accurate, but it's a real battery eater. coming from a 2 year old samsung mysto on Helio network that ran google maps down to the meter for me (and only needed to be recharged every 4 days) it seems like this should work better.Am I missing something? That little mysto couldn't have been running active GPS pinging the whole time. What made it so much better at locating?
