The brightness of my sony xpreia x8 keeps varying on its own, even while i am using any application. Any idea on why this may be happening?
I have a problem with the screen of my x10 mini. The screen brightness is unsteady. The screen brightness goes up and down when I'm using the phone and i don't know why. I searched via the forum and saw a thread that has the same topic but they didn't come up with a solution so i open the the discussion again.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow do i disable automatic brightness adjustment? I can adjust the brightness through settings->screen options->brightness, but the phone still automatically adjust brightness according to ambient light.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone know where did this disappear? or why? It's becoming annoying to adjust the brightness every time to suit your environment.
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo after turning off "adjust automatically" about a week ago in the display settings I have noticed a huge battery improvement. My question is what is your brightness set at? 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, full? Just trying to see where most people are with there settings and how the battery has been with it. Right now I'm around 1/4 but wondering if anyone set on about 1/2 or more has noticed battery drainage. Also, will the 2.1 update fix the battery problem?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI have the X10 and recieved a text message in the early hours of the morning. The green LED which flashes to notify of the event is actually quite bright in a dark room and ended up waking me up (in fact, I was quite confused at first as to what on earth it could be lol!). Does anyone know if there is an app which controls either the brightness of the LED notification or can disable the LED notification altogether?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.
After i reinstlled the phone when it started it gets stuck on the Black Screen saying "sony erricson". and it will not connect to companian..
View 1 Replies View RelatedWell having just got a X10. It has a pre-installed screen protector. Somehow I managed to scratch the screen protector and now I want to remove it however I'm having much difficulty removing it. Now I'm thinking if I should get a replacement screen protector as the Rogers version doesn't come with a spare one or just go without it. Anyone without the screen protector wanna add input about the durability of the mineral glass screen? I know that the screen on the iPod Touch 2G is very durable since I own one without having a protector on but I want to know if the X10s screen is just as durable.
View 17 Replies View RelatedThis was reported in the other thread about X8 Issues, but thought to start a new one to gather feedback from users. It's about the ''black screen'' freezing issue encountered by some users. I have had this several times since owning the phone for a few weeks, so it is a recurring issue. Problem: The phone hangs or appears to be shut down or become unresponsive suddenly. Pressing the hardware buttons doesn't help as the phone doesn't react at all. Solution: Take out cover and battery and restart.Observations: From my own observations, it's not actually a shutdown but a major freezing/hanging. Sometimes when it happens, I can still see vague shades of the display at an angle. After leaving the phone for a while in the pocket, the phone comes back to normal again. Not sure if this is true for all users with this problem. Anyway, gathering more feedback to see how prevalent the problem is, to evaluate whether I should take it to the SE service centre, or whether doing so will help at all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to unlock my phone. It's a rogers (Canadian) phone. I put a telus sim card in it, but when the phone boots, it says "activating phone", black screen with little spinney thing, then the phone continues to boot normally, and the main screen says "no sim in phone", and basically ignores the sim card.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOver all of xperia x10 is quite good, nice design, awesome OS , 8.1 camera, very useful media/time scape and a huge 4'' screen.Despite its large screen, the only thing that bring the rating down is the 65k colours. No multi-touch input is all right because most phone out there still having the same capacitive touchscreen, but the 65 colours is really unforgiven.
In early specifications review, SE said that its capable of 16m colours but just that 65k effective colors under Android OS v1.6 but now, according to the recent SE product blog (http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2010/11/01/more-info-on-the-updates/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sonyericsson%2Fproducts+%28Product+Blog%29) ,
There are no 16m colours screen anymore. I though no 16m is because software limitation but not its a HARDWARE issue. The different is so much obvious when I view a same picture and a video with Vivaz. Image projection wit x10 look dull but Vivaz picture look better, brighter (set to full brightness) and the colour look richer/darker when viewing the same video. I hope the announcement from the blog is not true, and hope that x10 is 16m colours ready as stated in GSM ARENA review [url] . BUT, overall of this phone are pretty impressive, and actually im having 1 of this. Everything from in and out is pretty good and awesome. Hope everyone in this forum could give their point of view or opinion on the 65k colours screen and wish SE could confirm with us that wheather its 16m ready.
the screen unlock slide bar has changed from left to right to right to left as if its for a left handed person, it done it whilst in my pocket any idea how to change it back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust picked up my phone there and the screen unlocked as soon as I pressed the Home button. For some reason there is no Lock Screen coming up, though I have not changed any settings.
I have pressed the Power button to lock the screen so I could re-try it, still no lock screen coming up. Anyone else encountered this problem? Any idea how to fix it?
Unlock the screen is straight forward, how to lock it is the question!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI found out that the touch screen on my new Xperia X8 isn't aligned to my liking.
It's kind of difficult for me to use the screen keyboard for SMS.
How can I calibrate the screen?
So the screen supports 16m colors but because of 1.6 its limited to 16k. So with that being said when it updates to 2.1 it will be 16m colors, how much better will it look though? Cant wait to see how it looks!

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering if there is any way of turning the screen autolock off on my xperia 10 mini? It has always been an option available on other phones, you can either lock the keys manually or set an auto lock for them to lock after like a few seconds or minutes etc. Yet this seems to be missing from the x10 mini. I don't mind the screen switching off (to save battery), that happened on my last phone, but the keys (screen) didn't lock at the same time, you just tap the screen to 'wake' the phone again, and it should wake in its previous setting too, such as in the messages folder, or on a internet screen, or on the music player etc. Its kinda frustrating when you are in a lengthy text conversation and they reply just after the screen goes off and you are forever unlocking the phone when it is just sat on the desk in front of you. Same as if you are reading a document and you put the phone down then have to unlock it again when you come back to it. Its kinda annoying. I am more than capable of locking the phone myself when I want to put it in my pocket. Anyone else got any tips? I want to avoid putting the screen time out on 'never' because then I'll be forever locking the screen to conserve battery (and no doubt someone will text just after I lock it.
