Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Screen Protector Already Installed On Glass Screen

Aug 28, 2010

Well having just got a X10. It has a pre-installed screen protector. Somehow I managed to scratch the screen protector and now I want to remove it however I'm having much difficulty removing it. Now I'm thinking if I should get a replacement screen protector as the Rogers version doesn't come with a spare one or just go without it. Anyone without the screen protector wanna add input about the durability of the mineral glass screen? I know that the screen on the iPod Touch 2G is very durable since I own one without having a protector on but I want to know if the X10s screen is just as durable.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Care - Screen Protector

Sep 18, 2010

I have just got my x10 and was wondering if the anti-scratch surface on the screen really works over time, or should i get a screen protector!?

What protective accesories are available and what is the best place to get them, I have already contacted my nearest phone store and they dont stock any.

Has anyone scratched their sceen after use over time and wished they had protected it?

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Spare Oem Screen Protector?

Jun 6, 2010

I really like the original screen protector that came with the xperia x10 phone. it is the spare screen protector that is in the box with the phone, not the one that is factory installed on the phone screen. anyway, i accidentally ruined mine today messing around with it. i need another one and i cant find one like it. does anyone know where i can buy this screen protector.

The unique properties about this "oem" screen protector that i like so much is that it is "static" type adhesive, it "perfectly" mate with the screen from corner to corner, it "completely" cover the entire screen glass surface with no unnessary holes. yes it matters to me.

I dont know how much boxwave cover the screen, but what i dont like about this brand is their the screen protector has a cutout hole for the proximity sensor, and i dont like that. the oem does not have the cut out hole and i like my entire screen cover without any hole.

Clarivue dont have any cutout hole, but it has been clearly documented that their screen protector does not cover the entire screen, it has about one milimeter gap around the sides. this bothers me too.

If anyone know where i can order the original oem screen protector that came with the xperia x10 please help me out. or if possible, if you happen to be not using your original "oem" screen protector that came with the phone because you've interested in something else instead, or perhaps just not needing it, can you sell it to me. i can use a couple for spare.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Apps Installed But No Icon On Home Screen

Nov 13, 2010

Checking out media players, I downloaded Zimly and Mixzing (thanks suze!) to compare. Both installed instantly but only Zimly appeared as an icon on the home screen. When I go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications they are both listed as installed, however I need to have Mixzing drop its icon for me to be able to use it from reviews etc I actually think that's the one I'll be keeping anyway, a clear case of sod's Law that of the two that one would be the one with a problem! I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, same result.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 :: Blank Screen / Black Screen / Hang / Freeze Error?

Dec 2, 2010

This was reported in the other thread about X8 Issues, but thought to start a new one to gather feedback from users. It's about the ''black screen'' freezing issue encountered by some users. I have had this several times since owning the phone for a few weeks, so it is a recurring issue. Problem: The phone hangs or appears to be shut down or become unresponsive suddenly. Pressing the hardware buttons doesn't help as the phone doesn't react at all. Solution: Take out cover and battery and restart.Observations: From my own observations, it's not actually a shutdown but a major freezing/hanging. Sometimes when it happens, I can still see vague shades of the display at an angle. After leaving the phone for a while in the pocket, the phone comes back to normal again. Not sure if this is true for all users with this problem. Anyway, gathering more feedback to see how prevalent the problem is, to evaluate whether I should take it to the SE service centre, or whether doing so will help at all.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: X10 Stuck At Sony Ericsson Boot Screen

Jul 29, 2010

So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?

I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied

However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.

So what can I do now?

I was also able to pull files...

Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: 65k Colours Screen

Nov 6, 2010

Over all of xperia x10 is quite good, nice design, awesome OS , 8.1 camera, very useful media/time scape and a huge 4'' screen.Despite its large screen, the only thing that bring the rating down is the 65k colours. No multi-touch input is all right because most phone out there still having the same capacitive touchscreen, but the 65 colours is really unforgiven.

In early specifications review, SE said that its capable of 16m colours but just that 65k effective colors under Android OS v1.6 but now, according to the recent SE product blog (http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2010/11/01/more-info-on-the-updates/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sonyericsson%2Fproducts+%28Product+Blog%29) ,

There are no 16m colours screen anymore. I though no 16m is because software limitation but not its a HARDWARE issue. The different is so much obvious when I view a same picture and a video with Vivaz. Image projection wit x10 look dull but Vivaz picture look better, brighter (set to full brightness) and the colour look richer/darker when viewing the same video. I hope the announcement from the blog is not true, and hope that x10 is 16m colours ready as stated in GSM ARENA review [url] . BUT, overall of this phone are pretty impressive, and actually im having 1 of this. Everything from in and out is pretty good and awesome. Hope everyone in this forum could give their point of view or opinion on the 65k colours screen and wish SE could confirm with us that wheather its 16m ready.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Screen Autolock Off?

Sep 5, 2010

I'm just wondering if there is any way of turning the screen autolock off on my xperia 10 mini? It has always been an option available on other phones, you can either lock the keys manually or set an auto lock for them to lock after like a few seconds or minutes etc. Yet this seems to be missing from the x10 mini. I don't mind the screen switching off (to save battery), that happened on my last phone, but the keys (screen) didn't lock at the same time, you just tap the screen to 'wake' the phone again, and it should wake in its previous setting too, such as in the messages folder, or on a internet screen, or on the music player etc. Its kinda frustrating when you are in a lengthy text conversation and they reply just after the screen goes off and you are forever unlocking the phone when it is just sat on the desk in front of you. Same as if you are reading a document and you put the phone down then have to unlock it again when you come back to it. Its kinda annoying. I am more than capable of locking the phone myself when I want to put it in my pocket. Anyone else got any tips? I want to avoid putting the screen time out on 'never' because then I'll be forever locking the screen to conserve battery (and no doubt someone will text just after I lock it.
