I'll be sending or reading a recieved text or reading through some old ones, and the messgaing service will crash, i'll then open handcent and the same thing will happen. it will come up with the message "the application has stopped unexpectedly.please try again" with options force close or wait, i'll select force close, re-open it and it comes up again.

I activated call waiting, and i will be talking to a friend when i'll get another call, he options are answer,replace or busy. i'll touch the screen and press answer or any other option and none of the options work. the screen just crashes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just started having a problem with my big x10i, if I put the 8gb card that came with the phone in, I get a message in the status bar saying 'checking for errors'. At this point the phone goes really slow and if the phone locks I'm unable to unlock it and I have to take the battery out. I tried putting a different card (2gb) and it just keeps saying in the status bar 'SD card removed. Insert a new one' the whole phone is annoying me now as this is not the first problem I've had with it.Hope someone can help before I insert hammer in it.

Anyways stumbled across an app less than a week ago called "Hanashi Chat". You should be able to find it on the Market, just search for "Hanashi". It's a messaging app made by Sony Ericsson and you can find more about it here:Hanashi - mobile chat client.But just a short overview, this is so far an Android exclusive messaging app. Once you get the thing sorted and ready to go, it'll look through your contacts and see which of your friends are already using it. You can then text with your friends (using 3G or WiFi), voice chat, send photos and music, etc. You can also share your locations with all contacts or individual contacts (just tinker in settings under "Profile") and it'll show you on the map approx. where each of you are and give you a distance of how far apart you are. I guess if I was to relate this app to something I'd say it's a mix of MSN and BBM.Haven't tried out all the features, so if you come across something cool about the app that I didn't mention, please to let others know.And just out of curiosity, do you guys think it's better for this app to stay Android exclusive (to entice people to convert to an Android if it does become successful) or have it cross platform (so you can chat with your iPhone and BlackBerry friends)?

But...
After the phone has been off, the camera works fine the first time I start it.
And if I close the camera application and start it again straight away it also works fine.
But if I wait for maybe half an hour or more and then open the camera application, the phone reboots itself.
This is very repeatable and it looks like there's something wrong in the software or so.
How do i get my delivery reports to come on? went in to settings - sony ericsson- messageing and ticked the delivery report box ...but still no.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to 2.1 I´m having some trouble with the SE text messaging program!
Before it was easy to highlight a typed word, double tap on the word, and then respell it or change the capitols. Now it´s very difficult to make that action happen and I find it easier just deleting the word and spell it again.
This is, for me anyway, less user-friendly than the 1.6 version! I´m hoping that this will be solved in future updates or if anyone of you experts out there have a solution. Changing to other programs as "handsent sms" is not a solution for me!
i was receiving MMS with photo. anybody can tell me how to save the photo from messeging to phone memory card?? The picture in messeging can be only used for wallpaper n contact picture only. Appreciate your comment..

I want the phone, but I want to make sure that ATT won't charge me randomly for data. So can I opt out of Data, or cancel data on the line if I get the phone. Is there a way I can get the phone, put in my SIM card and only use the calling and texting that I've been using currently on my Samsung Impression?

View 21 Replies View RelatedI just got the X10 not long ago. Literally only a week ago to be honest. I could have sworn I saw the playnow service on there when I first booted it up. I performed an update like I was told by my provider (Rogers here in Canada) and it said there were no new updates. But when I looked just the other day the Playnow icon is missing from the Application folder. which describes others loosing the Icon as well. I've walked through it and I'm not finding it.The last post suggests going to http://m.sonyericsson.com/sam-resetplaynow through the mobile browser on the phone. What I get is a message from the sony ericsson site stating that the page has been moved or no longer exists.Is there a way to get this service back without unlocking my phone? I'll unlock it if I have to, but I really hope its not necessary.

Now they are more about Sony Ericsson and how well they will support the phone with software updates etc. Several bad indications:
- Complaints have been made in the past about SE sucking at this for other phones
- Phone was due out Jan 18. Arrived more than 2 months later
- Phone came out with an old o/s (1.6) while other phones came out with 2.1 at the same time.
- SE have said they wont provide an update until the end of the year!! incredibly slow. By then android 2.8 will be out. pathetic
I want to get a well supported phone that is going to improve and evolve.
I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and tried to use the Update Service to get the latest firmware for my phone, but after the new phone software was downloaded and started to install onto my phone it only got to a few millimeters of completing before it threw out an error saying that that it couldn't install the new software! Now my phone doesn't want to work anymore! Every time I start up the phone it just shows the x10 picture with an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle! What should I do? I need my phone working to complete daily tasks!

All the SE online help, the phone manual, phone electronic manual, even my phone carrier, all say that i can link my phone to facebook in my Online Service Accounts....Strange thing is that I do not have facebook listed there.

Ironicly i'm interested only in facebook. I've been searching this "bug", if that's what it is, for a while now, and I have not found anywhere mensioning anything of facebook not beeing listed there. Maybe I've done a poor search, but now I'm curious to see if anybody on this SE forum might know why facebook might not be listed in the Online Service Accounts.
I purchased an unlocked new Sony Xperia X10 from overseas because I was told it wasn't going to be released in the US. I had been waiting for the release since I had heard about the production of the phone and so I didn't care so much about the price. However, I recently went to an AT&T store and inadvertently saw my phone there and almost punched the first AT&T rep I saw for lying to me. I remained calm and asked if it was possible to get the AT&T software on my phone instead of the Telstra software applications that are non-functional and cannot be removed. They told me, "no, we dont do that, ask sony." Please, someone tell me I can somehow load the AT&T software to my phone, so I can use the applications that came with the phone, like MySync, Downloads, PlayNow, etc.. I spent so much money on this phone, and now it's available through AT&T for $150 with a 2 year contract; I wouldn't feel as terrible if mine could at least DO everything the AT&T one could.

When the screen is on but locked you press menu(left hardware key), back(right hardware key), back, menu, back, menu, menu, back
This enters you into service menu. decided to check out the service test menu and there's a test option for 'earphone'. when you press it... my my how clear the earpiece can sound - with this kind of loudness and clarity i might have a chance of hearing my phone calls outside of an isolated soundproof room!
For some time ago I updated my X10 to Android 2.1 and today (a week later) I noticeed all the sudden that Mediascape has linked alot of my pictures stored in my phone to some of my Facebook contacts automatically. Of course Mediascape got it all wrong, linking my children to old friends I haven't met in several years etc. This raises a couple of questions:
1. First - how do I disable Face recognition service entirely. I find this very unuseful since I have found it not that good at identifying persons even when trying to learn.
2. How come that Mediascape did this automatic link between my Facebook contact and my pictures?
3. Is there a way to clear this linking data that Mediascap does. It's pretty time consuming to have to go through all Facebook friends and select the image and Delete the link between the photo and the friend.
I guess Mediascape must have downloaded images from my frieds facebook galleries and analyzed them somehow. However this isn't something I want my phone to spend time doing. The battery time of my X10 is poor already, it doesn't need to do image processing - at least I should have the option to turn this off?
Overall I find Mediascape pertty crappy. Mostly because it's performance. I guess the ideas behind it is good, but the implementation isn't near good enough.
For example, slow browsing between images. Compare with iPhone, Samsung galaxy, HTC phones, older SonyEricsson phones such as W715 or C905. All these perform much better. Is there a way to remove this or use another media viewer?
