Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Video Messaging Too Short
Aug 2, 2010I have found I can only record video messages for about 3 seconds to text to someone else. This seems really short - barely long enough to say hello. Is this right?

Oct 13, 2010I'll be sending or reading a recieved text or reading through some old ones, and the messgaing service will crash, i'll then open handcent and the same thing will happen. it will come up with the message "the application has stopped unexpectedly.please try again" with options force close or wait, i'll select force close, re-open it and it comes up again.

Sep 10, 2010First thread on here so hopefully this is not a duplicate (I did a search and nothing came up for this app) and is actually useful (just thought I'd share the love ). Anyways stumbled across an app less than a week ago called "Hanashi Chat". You should be able to find it on the Market, just search for "Hanashi". It's a messaging app made by Sony Ericsson and you can find more about it here:Hanashi - mobile chat client.But just a short overview, this is so far an Android exclusive messaging app. Once you get the thing sorted and ready to go, it'll look through your contacts and see which of your friends are already using it. You can then text with your friends (using 3G or WiFi), voice chat, send photos and music, etc. You can also share your locations with all contacts or individual contacts (just tinker in settings under "Profile") and it'll show you on the map approx. where each of you are and give you a distance of how far apart you are. I guess if I was to relate this app to something I'd say it's a mix of MSN and BBM.Haven't tried out all the features, so if you come across something cool about the app that I didn't mention, please to let others know.And just out of curiosity, do you guys think it's better for this app to stay Android exclusive (to entice people to convert to an Android if it does become successful) or have it cross platform (so you can chat with your iPhone and BlackBerry friends)?

Nov 8, 2010After updating to 2.1 I´m having some trouble with the SE text messaging program!
Before it was easy to highlight a typed word, double tap on the word, and then respell it or change the capitols. Now it´s very difficult to make that action happen and I find it easier just deleting the word and spell it again.
This is, for me anyway, less user-friendly than the 1.6 version! I´m hoping that this will be solved in future updates or if anyone of you experts out there have a solution. Changing to other programs as "handsent sms" is not a solution for me!

Aug 15, 2010So today I filmed the kids to send through MSS to their gramps. I used the MMS setting on the camera since the X10 can't edit video (amazing blunder if you ask me). But even with this setting the video gets too large to send. I've tried to change the allowed size in Handcent but that only removes the message about too big a file. The MMS is marked by a red clock indicating not sent. The original app does the same thing. Anybody else with this problem? The phone is rooted now but since so little can be removed after rooting due to problems with other apps I guess I'll just un-root it soon and live with Moxier. It's basically the only major app that can be removed without consequenses.

Aug 24, 2010I got the X10 2 or 3 weeks ago, previous phone was a Samsung Jet. I watch quite a few films but so far I can't get the quality. The files are mainly divx encoded but I have been converting to mpeg4 to play them in Mediascape. The video is skipping / jumping even though it is not at a super-high resolution, bitrate etc. Does anyone know what the best settings are to get video that's watchable? The Jet would play divx files no problem at all and I assumed the X10 would be at least as good...

Oct 22, 2010I am having issues with playing videos on my X10. I have used Media Go to convert .avi to .mp4 before and they have worked fine but now I can only get 1 file to work out of 10. I have played the converted files in Mediscape and now they dont want to work.
So......
I have tried several different conversion programs (Smart C, Double Twist and some others I cant remember) and I have also tried a couple of different players as well (Rock Player, YxFlash, Real Player) and nothing works.
YxFlash used to let me play .avi and I believe that Rock Player is supposed to be able to support .avi as well. Now, nothing.
I dont mind converting the files, IF THEY WORK.
