Sep 15, 2010I was surprised that SONY is not providing a software which enables the user to sync the Xperia X10 mini pro directly with your computer (e.g. Outlook).
After wasting a lot of time I generated an account at Sony webpage and managed all my accounts including "birthday" but now I found out that the
phone is not creating a corresponding calendar entry and therefore my phone is not reminding me for any birthday.

It wouldn't tell me why it failed, it just spits out that generic message after I click "Finish" in the Sony Ericsson Sync Client Wizard.

Dec 2, 2010I'd like to use my X10 to keep all of my contacts' postal addresses in instead of the tatty old address book I carry in my handbag(!) I didn't fancy typing them all into the phone, so thought I would use the Sony Ericsson sync and put them into the pc first via the PC Companion sync application, and set up the sync to transfer them into my phone. I have tried a test run adding only a couple of addresses to my contacts on the pc, and adding one to my phone, but when I do a sync, the addresses don't transfer either way. I know that the actual sync is working because I added photos too and they transfer....... I must be doing something wrong that is easily rectified?

Nov 18, 2010I made a account on the community of sony erricsson so i can sync and update my data from the net.
The first sync of contacts, calander etc was oke.
But since a couple of days i cannot sync my contact with Sony Ericsson, i Tried to connect but always the same : sync failed .
Checked the internet connection and al seems working properly, gmail sync oke, all oke except the sync with Sony Ericcson.Any a idea how to resolve the problem .
Perhaps a setting but seems strange because nothing as changed since the first time.

Jul 20, 2010I have an Sony Ericcson x10i, and i just Syncronised my telephone.
I updated to the firmware .27 just a few days ago, and i had lots of new Contacts in my phone, BEFORE i updated.
And then i updated to 27, and all my contacts were removed ( at the time i had no clue i had all the contacts on SE.com database ) so i copied my old contacts from my SIM-card, and just before i synced i saw all my mew contacts from before i updated the telephone in my database, but now when the telephone synced again it replaced all the new contacts in my database with my old contacts from my SIM-card wich i copied into the phone after the update. how i can get my old database back from SE.com `?

Oct 6, 2010I just got the X10 not long ago. Literally only a week ago to be honest. I could have sworn I saw the playnow service on there when I first booted it up. I performed an update like I was told by my provider (Rogers here in Canada) and it said there were no new updates. But when I looked just the other day the Playnow icon is missing from the Application folder. which describes others loosing the Icon as well. I've walked through it and I'm not finding it.The last post suggests going to http://m.sonyericsson.com/sam-resetplaynow through the mobile browser on the phone. What I get is a message from the sony ericsson site stating that the page has been moved or no longer exists.Is there a way to get this service back without unlocking my phone? I'll unlock it if I have to, but I really hope its not necessary.

May 10, 2010My initial doubts about the x10 were over its specs, such as no multitouch and an apparently slow sticky interface
Now they are more about Sony Ericsson and how well they will support the phone with software updates etc. Several bad indications:
- Complaints have been made in the past about SE sucking at this for other phones
- Phone was due out Jan 18. Arrived more than 2 months later
- Phone came out with an old o/s (1.6) while other phones came out with 2.1 at the same time.
- SE have said they wont provide an update until the end of the year!! incredibly slow. By then android 2.8 will be out. pathetic
I want to get a well supported phone that is going to improve and evolve.
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: X10 Stuck At Sony Ericsson Boot Screen
Jul 29, 2010So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Switching Service Provider Applications?
Oct 13, 2010I purchased an unlocked new Sony Xperia X10 from overseas because I was told it wasn't going to be released in the US. I had been waiting for the release since I had heard about the production of the phone and so I didn't care so much about the price. However, I recently went to an AT&T store and inadvertently saw my phone there and almost punched the first AT&T rep I saw for lying to me. I remained calm and asked if it was possible to get the AT&T software on my phone instead of the Telstra software applications that are non-functional and cannot be removed. They told me, "no, we dont do that, ask sony." Please, someone tell me I can somehow load the AT&T software to my phone, so I can use the applications that came with the phone, like MySync, Downloads, PlayNow, etc.. I spent so much money on this phone, and now it's available through AT&T for $150 with a 2 year contract; I wouldn't feel as terrible if mine could at least DO everything the AT&T one could.

Nov 14, 2010Before doing the 2.1 Update I setup the Sync account with SE and Sync'ed my X10 for the first time. I did this with the phone connected to the PC and used PC Companion to start the process. All went well. I can navigate to the web page with my PC and seem my contacts, calander, etc. After updating my X10 to 2.1 I thought I would be able to resync and load my stuff back on the phone. I have tried it with the phone conncected to the PC and with the phone just by itself and I get the same results - Failure to Sync message. I have given the phone the account name and Pw but so far nothing. It's almost as if a Sync created in 1.6 will not download to a 2.1 phone but that would be silly wouldn't it?? Has anyone else got this to Sync to work after the upgrade?
