Some days after I bought the Xperia X10, I realized I need to hold the power button lont time ti turn the X10 on, is it normal? what is the average time for holding the power button?

the worst thing about the nexus one is that you power on the phone by simply pressing the power button, not by *holding* it. how can I just *check* if the phone is turned off? when i go to a movie, i just want to double-check it's off, so i short-press power button but then if it's already off then i would instead be turning it on and have to wait for the long boot-up process. i just can't "make sure it's off".
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust wondering why the X10 mini pro doesn't have the end call button at the top like the X10 Maxi (power button)?The lack of having this feature is absurd. The easiest and most logical way to end a call is to press the top lock screen/power button. I recommended this phone to someone and they got a massive shock when they realised they had an active call going for over 8 hours! Could you please add this feature in your next update, if not could you at least have a visual clue to let the user know that they have an active call when the screen is off, eg notification light blinking purple or something.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got an x10, and I'm having a huge problem with it... anytime i tried to download anything (be it 3g or wifi), it disconnects... sometimes it would download 1mb... 500kb, it's kinda random, and then the download would just die, tried with dolphin and the default android browser... it this a known issue or i just got a faulty phone?

Is this normal for this handset?
I try to shut down the phone to charge it but it keeps re-starting itself. I plug it in, power the phone down and it restarts. Same when I plug it in when it is already off. Is this normal?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased the X10 handset and on a whole I'm really pleased with it. My previous handset was an N97 - rubbish! Anyway, since playing with the phone, could you answer these for me as I'm new to Android and don't really know what I'm doing.
1) On the mentu's, text screen, etc. It has a blue background and white writing. Is there anyway to change this? I have an eye condition and blue isn't the best colour for me to read from. I was looking for something like theme settings but there isn't one.
2) Is there a keyboard application that is like the normal alphanumeric layout on phone keypads ie to get the letter b you press the number 2 twice. I believe the HTC Desire has this option and old Nokia N97 that the feature.
3) I've read on another thread about the ringing volume and earpiece volume being low and turning up the volume to max makes the earpiece sounds quality pop/crackle. I've experienced this too but does anyone know if there is a firmware update out to rectify this?
4) I've also read that Android 2.1 is due out for this handset. Does anyone know when it's out, or if it is already out, where do I download it from?
How long do you guys generally get before your x10 battery is ready to die?I've had mine close to a month now and has to be charged every night, also have a car charger as it might need a boost while driving.I'm doing everything to conserve battery life, just wondering if everyone is in the same boat?

View 8 Replies View RelatedHave tried to download the uninstaller application but after trying it twice for 4 hours each I have given up.Does anyone have any ideas why downloading this app takes so long - it is also the same for the Xpedia flashlight app which I have tried separately. In fact any application seems to take an eternity.
They apps say they are downloading but they are not very large apps so should be there is a flash but after 4 hours I am still waiting.Have tried the switch off/on but still it takes ages - I have full signal (not 3G though) and it doesn't download.
Anyone of you noticed that x10 (after update) no longer stop charging when connected to USB charger? During v1.6, the charging indicator turned off and cp used it's power source when fully charge now, it's charging endlessly.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI took my X10 to the SonyErricson shop to get the local sim working and GBP 60 later they managed to stuff the phone. The local sim now works but but the phone is useless as it does not power up When I put the SD card in. The authorised shop started speaking in Arabic telling me they could not help. I suspect they did not do a good job unlocking it or screwed up the os somehow. I tried to use the "Update Service" software and this says: "Failed to Detect Product" I have a catch 22 situtation as I cant power up and I cant use the phone without the sd card. I just want to reset the os so I can get back to defaults.
View 11 Replies View RelatedPreviously my Xperia used to turn in by itself while charging i figured it out as an Intelligent Charging Circuit system,then i updated my phone and it stopped turning on while charging, even after 2.1 it is not resolved.although it stops charging when its powered on and fully charged but it dont when its off it neither stops charging nor turns on by itself, is it a problem if it is how can i resolve it.

But one thing that is really annoying is that it is all too easy to accidental go into the arrange icons mode by mistake without even realizing it. Quite often I look at my phone and my address book, or calls have disappeared from the corners and now sit with the icons. Is it possible to extend the length of time needed for a long press?
