How long do you guys generally get before your x10 battery is ready to die?I've had mine close to a month now and has to be charged every night, also have a car charger as it might need a boost while driving.I'm doing everything to conserve battery life, just wondering if everyone is in the same boat?

With only Helix Launcher installed and brightness turned down so far I have been running solid "so far" for:

Cell standby 46%
Phone idle 44%
Android System 4%
Display 3%
Bluetooth 2%
45% battery life left.
I just ordered the Xperia X10a. Customer Retentions gave me a great deal on it (Great deal = entirely 100% free, I figure I really couldn't beat "free" :P) and so I said "Yes, that sounds lovely" (not an exact transcript of my reaction). I now await its arrival in the mail. So I've been pretty damn excited about it. But then I did the ONE thing I told myself not to do: go trolling on the internet for all the negatives. I knew there were going to be negatives, that's the nature of smartphones, there's always going to be something if not multiple somethings. But I have to admit I was unprepared for the sheer amount of complaints over the battery life. Now I'm depressed (not really, but you know what I mean). Did I just order myself a lemon? I mean don't get me wrong, you still can't beat a free phone I suppose, but is it a free mobile phone, or a free "I need to get to a wall outlet so I can charge this thing because it discharged after only an hour and a half" phone, which isn't exactly all that mobile (ok, well it's mobile, just not mobile + useful at the same time -- I admit I was sort of hoping for the latter. Pipe dreams, what can I say).

After fully charging the phone, I can't get more than 12 hours usage out of it, even if it's on standby for 95% of the time. I'm guessing something is seriously using up the battery somewhere but I'm not sure what. I've been to Settings --> About --> Phone Usage and it says where the battery has been used, but 40%+ is on Phone idle, and 40%+ is on cell idle (I'm guessing signal), but surely this shouldn't be happening, the figures on the Sony website give standby hours in the hundreds not less than 10.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI live in Maryland and it just became a law that we cant be on our phone while driving without having a bluetooth headset. so today i put in my bluetooth to get use to it, my phone was dead in 4 hours..has anyone else had this problem? if so is there anything i can to with the bluetooth connected to help the battery life?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOk people, I have found a way to extend your battery life enormously, to the extent that it is what it was advertised by Sony. Some of you guys may know that I have helped on a lot of other minor issues when the x10 first came out so am not lying on this.In the battery life thread, I have mentioned that last week, my battery was amazingly great where overnight, it only reduced 3-5% of the battery and a good days use only drained about 30-40% of the battery. I did not know how this happened but I have finally found out now after testing it 3 times.
My solution:
I turned off my phone, then turn it back on, used tasks killer right away because the phone when turned on, activates a lot of apps and then i killed all apps except my beautiful widgets and settings. And that is it, battery was amazing and you can use your apps as normal and battery life was as good as mentioned above.
Now, the problem that kills the battery where you will have to restart your phone again for the good battery life: When downloading a new app or updating from the market, the battery became horrendous again. When I did this, the battery overnight drained 25-30% and a days use drained over 60%.But all I did was restart my phone after installing a new app or updating and did what I mentioned above and the battery was back to it's amazing self.I have tested this 3 times and it works for me. It is as simple as turning off your phone and back on again so go and try it to see if it works for you.
X10 Half a day for Battery Life? is this normal? I love the phone but the battery life is driving me crazy? am i doing something wrong? im lucky to get 4-5 hours out of the thing. What about you? I am interested to hear your life of Battery?

View 7 Replies View RelatedA couple of days ago, the battery went from 8:00am right through to 5:00am (i.e. 21 hours) with around 2 hours of phone calls, about half with bluetooth, probably 50 texts and maybe 15 minutes of WiFi. After all of that, it still had 50% left according to the battery widget I have. Unbelievable! I had changed nothing from the previous day, in terms of settings, applications etc. The next day, it was back to it's usual 15 hours before getting down to about 10%. I have absolutely no idea why it decided to give me a decent day!

View 1 Replies View Relatedso what if each of uses this thread to clearly state the problems that they are having with the X10, please don't go on about firmware updates etc as this isn't an actual problem, we all knew the firmware the phone was running when we bought it, so therefore I feel we have to accept that is down to us as we made the choice to buy the phone. Please be polite and concise and hopefully Jeff or someone from SE will take the time to read the thread and answer in due course, remember though it may take a little time for people to post the problems they are having and also for Jeff and co to find the answers for us.
please pop in and acknoledge the posts every now and then, just so we know our complaints aren't falling on deaf ears. I am hving problems with 1/ In call volume is very low and needs to be fixed asap 2/ Battery Life is very poor, I mainly only send texts at the moment as I cant hear calls and also use the ebook reader for maybe an hour or two a day, yet I have to charge the phone halfway through the day, even though I fully chatge it at night.....

View 8 Replies View RelatedHave tried to download the uninstaller application but after trying it twice for 4 hours each I have given up.Does anyone have any ideas why downloading this app takes so long - it is also the same for the Xpedia flashlight app which I have tried separately. In fact any application seems to take an eternity.
They apps say they are downloading but they are not very large apps so should be there is a flash but after 4 hours I am still waiting.Have tried the switch off/on but still it takes ages - I have full signal (not 3G though) and it doesn't download.
My question is how long should I keep my new x10 mini charging for the first time? Is it OK to disconnect it when fully charge or should I leave it for some hours in charging?

But one thing that is really annoying is that it is all too easy to accidental go into the arrange icons mode by mistake without even realizing it. Quite often I look at my phone and my address book, or calls have disappeared from the corners and now sit with the icons. Is it possible to extend the length of time needed for a long press?

View 22 Replies View RelatedI have x10 mini 2.1 since I updated to 2.1 any long press on home screen or corner icons goes directly to edit either widgets or icons depending wich screen I have up.This is anoying because many times I press just a little too long and for example end up in the edit icons mode instead of opening messages like I wanted to. Is there anyway to get this as it was on 1.6? Long press didnt open edit, the only way to open edit was trough menu key.

View 28 Replies View RelatedI've just started using my X2 as a music player and as expected that uses more battery than how I normally use the phone.I've plugged the phone into my laptop (with a genuine SE cable) and stopped everything I can in the task manager.The "backlight and power screen" says the phone is charging but the percentage is going down not up.The phone is just sitting there in standby with nothing running (as far as I know) - certainly no bluetooth or wireless.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my xperia x10 along 1 week It is awesome and blah blah, but theres something wrong with my battery it just doesnt up more than 50%... sometimes 51% or 53% but no more...And even if it is charging it comes down.... I went to the store where i Bought it and they replace with some new, but it is still the same, i dont know if my xperia is bad as well...I didn't wanted to root it because i'm not sure if I need to change it ..... I'm really dissappointed, anyone have or had this same trouble? I always charge the battery 8 hours...
