I must say I'm realy fed-up with with Sony Ericson for not providing 2.2. I've just bought the X10 thinking it was the best. can't wait for my present contact to finish, so I can chose a proper smart phone. Can anyone advise me on my next PROPER smart phone.

hey guys hopefully you can help me out with this.i have an unbranded x10 that i am trying to update to 2.1.when i go to software updates on the phone it's telling me that it's available downloads it and starts to do the update but finishes early and says "unable to finish update" any ideas why it would just stop in the middle and not finish?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased the X10 and unfortunately when making a call I cannot end the call by tapping the end call button or call the dialer up to select options.The only way I can hang up is by pressing the power button at the top.I have looked at various forums and they comment how sensitive the end call button is and it can be easily knocked by a chin but not in my case.Does anyone have any ideas?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to link my 1and1 email account with my x10 on orange. Tried following all guides I can find but always says:
"Setup could not finish Unable to open connection to server."
I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have one activity call a camera view activity, and in the onActivityResult, I have it start that activity again with different parameters. Android doesn't seem to like that, and gives me an error that the camera is not available if I start it right after it returns. I tried just waiting a few seconds, but this doesn't seem to work on all phones, and it sometimes crashes. Is there some way to wait until that activity finishes properly, and gives up all resources?

I did make the change in Googles Contact list, but it did not carry over to the X10. Is this another 2.1 fix by chance?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is silly and I must be missing something! Go to "edit" in contacts, then press on the 'blank' picture, which takes you to the "add picture" window. However, I'm just presented with 8 silhouettes of face graphics as available "pictures" to choose from. No obvious way to go into a folder where my images are stored. So easy on my old Hero; I must be doing something wrong on this X10.

However, I cannot seem to find a way to do this with an X10. On my old Nokia, it was really easy, but having come into the modern world and finally upgraded to a smartphone, I would have thought this would have been a no-brainer! Please, can someone help me!

when opening the phonebook and are about to sync contacts to sim, I dont get the Option as mentioned in the manual. I only get the Copy from sim, sync etc. How come? There must be some way to copy contacts to sim

Every contact has at least one assigned category, and some have multiple categories. I can filter my contacts on the X10 Mini Pro, which greatly assists in finding people, but I can't see any way to add a category tag to a new contact. I've looked at all the manuals I can find, and don't see this point addressed. Lots of information about adding photos and Timescape, but nothing useful.

So I'm looking for a way to wait until the ThreadPoolExecutor has emptied it's queue and finished all of it's tasks without stopping new tasks from being added before that point.
If it makes any difference, this is for Android.
after upgrading to 2.1 my x10's contact picture becomes very blurry.

I tried few applications, in which i can go to the contact (Edit) & select a ringtone & assign it but the problem is iam having around 1000+ songs & all songs were listed thr. So not able to search my ringtone immediately its taking so much time to search manually. If iam seeing the ringtone from my sd card folder & able to select the ringtone & assign it to a contact it would be better. Is it possible in any of ur known applications?

So far, the closest option I have found is this PC Suite for Android Xperia X10-Manage Everything from PC Gadgets | Technology Simplified.
In a nutshell, it involves installing additional driver, a suite on your PC and another app on the phone. Wondering if anyone has other options? I wish the PC Companion software shipped with the Xperia X10 could have this function built it. Adding pictures for each of 300 contacts you have isn't a fun thing to do on a phone.
