My X10 changes the contact names itself, e.g. it puts the name of a contact on another and thus creates a lot of confusion when a name shows on screen during an incoming call and when I pick it up, there is someone else on the other side.

1. Is it possible to rename photos on the X10?I suppose it would be possible to attach the phone to the computer and rename them on there, but is there any way of doing it from the phoine itself?
2.Is it possible to assign a contact name to a photo that has been downloaded to the phone?For example, if I happened to download a few pictures of Zhang Ziyi, can I create her as a contact and get the phone to recognise the pictures as being of her?I don;t see a way of doing it.The photos are clear shots that include her face.Again, perhaps I have to do it through the computer?
Address Book Issue:
Suddenly after having it worked smooth for 3-4 days, I started getting a very strange problem which I was not able to search anywhere in forums or in the help manual.My address book search is not searching any contacts by the contact's names. It is just searching the emails, it's a huge problem for me especially when trying to send SMS to anyone, I can't go and add recipient by searching, I need to scroll the whole way down to that contact, which is irritating.
Otherwise the phone is quite nice and I am liking it very much. Especially the slide out keyboard is really usable plus unlike most smartphones, it's really small in size and performs most functions. There are some minor flaws but most of them are going to get fixed with the SE's much awaited software update for bringing in the Android 2.1, no doubt I am also waiting desperately.
I have a X10 mini pro - when I receive sms my phone does not display the sender's name, however if I send to the same person it displays the name. I live in Hong Kong so phone numbers are 8 digits, but incoming numbers display with the international code without +. But I cannot save phone numbers without + because it won't dial out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRight, I've just installed 2.1 and now when I go to edit a name in a picture for the facial recognition feature it automatically has my contacts and every single facebook friend listed.Does anyone know how I can get rid of the facebook names? It's really annoying me, I even told facebook not to link up at all when I first started the application to avoid problems like this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used Apps Organizer to create folders of related apps (like Games, Japanese, etc) to go on to my home screen. I rather like it. Just one irritation, to which I wonder if anyone has a solution. If I switch the phone off for any reason, when I switch it back on, the folders are all still on the home screen, with the icon I have attributed to the folder, but the names all change to 'Apps label'. I can't find any obvious solution, other than to delete the shortcuts and reintroduce them, but would be grateful for anyone's thoughts. If there is another similar application I could use in its place, that would be fine - I'm not especially attached to Apps Organizer, though I do like it other than the name thing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust wondering how I can get all my contacts showing the correct name in my phonebook. After 2.1 upgrade it imported all my facebook buddies, and because I call everyone by nicknames it has duplicated a lot of entries. I've tried "joining" the duplicates together to get just the one entry per person, but it seems to randomly choose whether they are stored under their facebook name or the nickname I have for them. I've tried entering what I want them to be called in the 'nickname' bit under the contact 'edit' screen, but again it seems to be random as to whether it then uses this name to display them in my contact list.

How do i stop my phone from remembering user names ? granted its useful for some things, but i don't want it remembering ALL of the words i input. just like Google chrome does !
is there a way of either stopping it from doing this or deleting them ?
deleting my history doesn't do it. also if anyone knows how to delete previous locations from google navigation that would be great ..
I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?

However, I'm just presented with 8 silhouettes of face graphics as available "pictures" to choose from. No obvious way to go into a folder where my images are stored. So easy on my old Hero; I must be doing something wrong on this X10.

However, I cannot seem to find a way to do this with an X10. when opening the phonebook and are about to sync contacts to sim, I dont get the Option as mentioned in the manual. I only get the Copy from sim, sync etc. How come? There must be some way to copy contacts to sim

Every contact has at least one assigned category, and some have multiple categories. I can filter my contacts on the X10 Mini Pro, which greatly assists in finding people, but I can't see any way to add a category tag to a new contact. I've looked at all the manuals I can find, and don't see this point addressed. Lots of information about adding photos and Timescape, but nothing useful.

I tried few applications, in which i can go to the contact (Edit) & select a ringtone & assign it but the problem is iam having around 1000+ songs & all songs were listed thr. So not able to search my ringtone immediately its taking so much time to search manually. If iam seeing the ringtone from my sd card folder & able to select the ringtone & assign it to a contact it would be better. Is it possible in any of ur known applications?
