My phone is not able to communicate with any google server and as a result I cant access the Market, Facebook, Email and other such features which require a google account. It is showing "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server." This persists since I bought the phone about two weeks ago.

I just received my X10 yesterday and had no trouble syncing gmail, google calendar, and google contacts last night.
This morning I decided to clean up my contacts in the web browser on my laptop since there were lots of duplicates and some names were first + last and some were last, first. I just wanted some consistency. So I spent a consderable amount of time doing that. Now they're clean in the web browser.
The problem is that now I can't sync them to my phone. I've tried countless times, and the little symbol spins, but then nothing is changed once the sync is finished.
The only contact that appears in the phone book is my own number. I've also tried powering off the phone, turning off automatic syncing, and logging out of gmail on the laptop.
Some people keep asking how to downgrade back to 1.6. So I wanted to provide how to do it
Note: This will give you UK Generic R1FA016 firmware
1) Install SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service).
You can get it from here: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/down...-2.10.6.21.exe
2) Run SEUS, follow the prompts. You don't need to update the phone through it, but get the phone ready for updating. This process should install the drivers necessary for the rooting process.
Note: I suggest you keep your USB cable attached to that USB port. Remember which USB port of your computer it's attached to, as changing USB ports can lead to a bit of confusion for the next 2 steps!
3) To check if #2 was successful, click on Start, click Run, and type: regedit
In the Registry Editor that pops up, click on Computer, press CTRL+F, and search for this: USBVid_0fce&Pid_adde
After it's finished finding, on the right side you'll see DeviceInstance, then it says REG_SZ, then it says something like USBVid_0fce&Pid_adde5&270d2a78&0&3 You'll need that last bit (in this example: 5&270d2a78&0&3 Yours would probably be different). This is your DeviceID (you'll need it soon!)
Note: You may have multiple of these if you plugged the USB cord into many USB ports on your computer. Each USB port will give a different DeviceID, so if you have more than one DeviceID, you'll have to choose one, and if it doesn't work (you'll find out when you reach #5!) you will have to choose another one.
Alternatively, download the file in the next step and extract it, go to the folder called 1st, and run the DeviceID.jar file. It should give your DeviceID
4) Download this:

Extract it.
In the step1 folder, you'll see a file called DeviceID.txt Open it up, delete whatever's there, and put YOUR DeviceID (that you found from the previous step). Save the file and close notepad.
Note: Make sure there are no extra spaces or lines after/before the DeviceID. The ONLY thing that should be in the file is your DeviceID, NO SPACES/LINES (for example, only this: 5&270d2a78&0&3 [yours will probably be different])
5) Take out the USB cable from your phone (leave it plugged into your computer) Turn your phone OFF. Open up step1.cmd (it's not inside the step1 folder, but outside it), but DON'T PRESS ANYTHING
Now we have to put the phone into flash mode. This is how you do it:
Hold the Back button on your phone, and while holding the back button, insert the USB cable into the phone. A green light should come on the phone (like when it's charging or a missed call) Quickly "Press any key to continue..." in the open step1.cmd window.
Let it finish what it's doing. It will say "Press any key to continue..." after it's finished. Until then, DON'T touch anything!

After completion, this will give you a Generic X10i R1FA016 firmware (check it by pressing the left button, go to settings>about phone and at the very bottom under build number)
Keep your phone plugged into the USB.
6) Run SEUS to get to the latest firmware (do this before 2.1 is released in the UK if you don't want 2.1)
I want to change Google account. I tried Setting>Basic Settings>Setup Guide, but cannot click Google Account. Cannot change from Menu>Gmail too.

This worked and the keyboard came back to french.But now i can't access to any Google app, as Market, Gmail, etc.It's asking me to log in to my google account (it never ask me that before, even when i bought the phone), but it's always telling me that my password is wrong and advice me to connect http:/google.com/accounts on my PC. I did it and i can access to my google account without any problem.Then i updated my phone to Android 2.1, but it didn't solve anything, i tried to repair it with Update service and PC Companion, but it didn't help more.I found on internet that i could put "null" as my password, but then it's asking me to reproduce a capcha, i did but it's asking me to reproduce another one, again and again.I noticed than my phone seems to have some trouble to connect with my SIM card, don't know if it's link.I don't really want to send my phone to repair for 3 weeks, but this is becoming really annoying, what can i do ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to deactivate the Google account (due to a privacy issue) that I was using on my laptop and it was the one I was using on the phone also. Now that I've deactivated it, I am no longer able to use the android apps, or change things within the phone because on not being able to log into that account. The login page comes up with the old account asking me for my password, but of course, like I said, it is no longer in use, and it doesn't let me change the user name as I've made another goggle account. I have tried to change things in the settings, but all I've done it seems is to have screwed it up more.

Last night I updated to X10i on the PC Companion. At first I freaked out when I turned by phone back on, but then began to enjoy the new look etc. However, I noticed that browsers and apps DO NOT work (Android Market, Facebook, browser etc) whenever I'm connected to my Wi-Fi at home, but when I turn the Wi-Fi off and let it go to 3G, they all work fine...wtf? My phone was sitting 2 metres away from the signal. It's definitely connected as it has the Wi-Fi logo on the top of the screen, it's just that nothing will load.I'm in Australia and we don't have the 2.1 update yet, so that's out of the question for now.

View 1 Replies View Relatedright so the bottom buttons were working fine, but the next day, the back button takes me to the home screen :S so if im on facebook, press the back button, instead of going to the previous page. and i also set up the draw thing to unlock it, but as it was raining a little it said i entered it wrong too many times and asked for the google mail thing... but i really have no rememberence of making one, which is so ******* annyoying.
the only way ive found out to solve this problem is doin a phone software update, however as my bottom right button is working properly, everytime i hold it down to plug the phones usb, the phone just starts normally, so basically i cannot do the system update.
I am a new member and a relatively new owner of an X10i. Overall I am happy with the phone but I am hoping some can answer a question. When I press the home button (middle one) I get a prompt to select to 'Complete Action using Home or Timescape' This is quite annoying. I want the default action to be Home (not Timescape) but despite ticking the box in the prompt it still pops up this box.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy first SE phone was the venerable T61d GAIT phone. I've owned perhaps a dozen SE phones over the years and they have all been stellar, sturdy, feature-packed devices. But after the Xperia x10 experience, I will be extremely unlikely to purchase another SE phone. Nobody not AT&T and not SE Customer Service can explain why the rest of the world already has the 2.1 Android update, but AT&T/America does not. SE also can't explain how it forgot to include contact sync into a "smart" phone. Heck, my very basic T61d phone could sync contacts SE can't explain the so-so earpiece volume (I usually have to talk on speakerphone on this device). They can't explain why the touch screen is so in accurate (it's hard to type the letter "p" since the digitizer usually picks "o" instead). The Xperian x10 is a VERY flawed device. I feel like I really wasted my money.

I use mine for work and sync up no problem using Moxier with my corporate exchange server.I want to also setup my personal email using another program. I have tried the stock email program (underwhelming) and K9. I cant get either one to sync with my outlook. I can set up my email address in them, and as long as my outlook on my home PC is closed I can receive emails. As soon as it is opened, emails arrive on the PC and do not show up on my phone.What am I missing? What is the terminology for what I want to do? I am running Outlook 2003, and I dont really use calendar or other functions but I want both our phones ad PC to all e in sync mail wise.

When I started it, it brought me to a Sony website where I can store and sync contact's, calendar and a bunch of things. So it looked pretty interesting and it is free, part of the X10 package, or is it? Well it appears AT&T has stripped that option out of our phones as there is No SE Sync option in the sync section of our settings. Even if we follow the directions to do it, still no joy.
