From my main screen! how do it get the window back?
I need help with two things. Firstly, i'v lost my Sony ericcson logo that should go in the middle of the screen on the homepage (I don't want to use timescape; I don't like it) so i'd like to know how to get that back. Secondly iv somehow managed to change my keyboard into Japanese or Chinese (or some language with symbols) Iv still got letters but my smiley faces have turned all weird on me and the keyboard has shifted slightly to the left and I keep putting commas instead of using the space bar - very annoying.

Is there anyway i can get back the same?
I'm so angry it's hard for me to even type. I upgraded my X10 mini pro to Android 2.1 today and I followed the instructions and the YouTube video EXACTLY step by step.I made a back-up before the update, with the updated Back-up & restore app.Now the Android update is done and i've tried and tried but I can't get my contacts back. Every time I run the restore function of Back-up & restore it tells me the restore is done, but when I go to my contacts list, it's empty.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded my OS from 1.6 to 2.1 today using the PC companion.
As suggested, I have taken the backup using the backup & restore app.
After, the phone got upgraded, I could find only facebook contacts in my list.
then i went to View options and played around with all the check boxes and i could view the contacts.
how ever, i could see each contact having the numbers multiple times inside it.
so, I deleted the contacts and tried to restore them again.
the restore was successful. i can see the contacts in my favorites list. when i dial/receive calls, i can still see the contact name.
but, the contacts are not being shown in the list. i know this is a weird problem.
I lost all my contacts after updating. It worked at the start but now it doesn't.
View 12 Replies View RelatedEvery time I plug my X10 into my PC or laptop, SE Phone Tools pops up with a windows explaining to me how to mount my SD card. If I close this window, it reappears about a minute later and will continue to do so until I quit PC Companion, mount my SD card, or unplug my phone. Is there any way to disable this window while keeping PC Companion running? I run PdaNet tethering software and will also sometimes charge my phone through my PC. Neither of these situations require me to mount my SD card nor do I wish to always do so. Either way, there should be an option within PC Companion to permanently disable this useless window (after a week of using the software, I was more than aware how to mount my SD card).
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I connect my phone to my PC to transfer the Angrybirds apk over. Then it says updates available. Foolishly, I take the update, follow all the instructions and now - it seems I've lost everything.
No contacts, no apps, no history, no ADW launcher with all the lovely themes and widgets and all the set-up I spent ages doing,...
What's going on? Have I lost it. Nothing much recovered when I tried to restore a back-up. Need to google register everything again.
I can see folders for apps that I had in the PC companion; but I can't seem to recover anything.
This phone has been nothing but trouble since day 1. :@
I've had to do a system update to my phone as it completely locked itself after too many unlock attempts in my pocket and I didn't know my google account. Basically, before my update I had a Satnav app, that I'm pretty sure i didn't download but was on my phone from stock (but I might be wrong). I think it was called Navigation, and it had an update recently that allowed it to have vocal commands, i.e. "Turn left in 100 yards" etc. It had the same blue arrow that the Google Maps Navigation had as the app icon. It's useful to me as I'm a delivery driver and when you get near to the 'target' house it shows a picture of which house it is, it's really accurate, and has that satellite layer on it that helps out too. I really need this app back and have been looking (both on the marketplace and on the phones memory) for it for a while to no avail.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone to the new firmware version. Followed all steps including backing up all my phone entries (logs/messages/contacts etc...) and went through the update with flying colors. The new update is amazing but for some reason after recovering all of my (previously saved) things, I found out I'm missing more than half of my contacts!
Anyone know what's going on? I can find my whole phone book through my text messaging application when searching for a name but if I go into my actual phone book I have like the last 6 entries that I added only... I've tried importing from sim/sd card nothing works...
I got question from SE PC Companion if I wanted to update. I updated, and followed every step. But when I restart my X8, I've lost all data, and I still got android 1,6. The Backup app wont Recovery my data, even if I saved it.

I have used the option to copy all my contact from the SIM card and that doesn't work AND the SE sync will not work either, and just constantly fails to complete synchronization.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSince I installed the latest upgrade 2.1 (successfully), I lost the keypress sound which was very useful. I tried the Settings/Sound and Display/Audible touch tones menu, and the Language & Keyboard/ Sound on keypress menu, in both cases I selected "on" but still I don't hear the keyboard sound which I find very useful since I am partially sighted.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSeems I just lost all my phonebook... the only reason I think it could have happened is because I cleared data regarding my google sync adress? Is this the case? There was a message mentionning i would lose data if I do so, but why is my phonebook that is normally on my sim card disappeared since I re adjusted google sync? This is ridiculous, lost years of contacts... please tell me there is a way to get my phonebook back... and that there is no link with what I did with Google sync...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just updated xperia x10 from 1.6 to 2.1 (Rogers) and figured it out that all my applications were lost. Before the update, I installed the last PC Companion Software from SE and made two backups using the backup and restore application. After the update, when I tried to restore using it, there's no market application checkbox. Everything else (contacts, messages..) was restored. The paid applications are shown in the Market Download tab to install, but just that (because they are associated with google account).Nothing more. I lost about +50 apps with their user data.I searched all the net about it, but the only info I found it was that the backup and restore tool just save the application links. How about the user data? I reinstall some of the apps that I had, but no user data. Am I the only one that had this problem? Is there any advanced tool to try to undelete internal memory of the phone?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI set up my google account when I first received the phone and everything. However now when I open up the home screen the Google Search bar has disappeared. Gone into Basic settings > Setup Guide to check details but Google Account settings not even listed! (Just SIM Contacts; Time & Date; Email; Facebook; Twitter; Sync) Have checked Applications and it shows Google Search (enhanced) as the default setting but it is not showing up on my screen either as the search bar or in the applications. Have tried taking out and re-inserting the sim card. Any ideas on how to get it re-instated?

But since I have lost the default image viewer. So without crappy mediascape I'm no longer able to click through my images, zoom and set as wallpaper. Has anyone else come across this? Is there a way I can download default software again? Pretty agrovate about this, x10 has been a nightmare since day 1.
Today i tried to download new software - didn't know what it was but went with it - my key bopard changed to japanese - still strange but managed to sort it - but in the process lost all my contacts and photos and text threads - where are they?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of upgrading my Xperia x10 to Android 2.1. I followed the instructions to update to the latest version of Backup and Restore using the
application on m.sonyericsson.com/backup, and it installed properly.
However, when I create a new restore point, and proceed to actually backing up my phone, it runs a few seconds backing up contacts and then
switches to a screen that tells me "Could not back up".
I've tried restarting the phone. Any suggestions? My backups from before the update this morning have vanished as well.
Can anyone tell me how to get my SMS settings back to UK. I have been onto Locale/Text but nothing is happening! Iknow that i'm going to need to be able to do so when I get ready to flash it to 2.1 so I figured might as well get this figured out. Is there an app that can do this for me or will I need to do so manually?
