Nov 13, 2010I am in the process of upgrading my Xperia x10 to Android 2.1. I followed the instructions to update to the latest version of Backup and Restore using the
application on m.sonyericsson.com/backup, and it installed properly.
However, when I create a new restore point, and proceed to actually backing up my phone, it runs a few seconds backing up contacts and then
switches to a screen that tells me "Could not back up".
I've tried restarting the phone. Any suggestions? My backups from before the update this morning have vanished as well.

Oct 23, 2010I am having a difficulty getting texts on my x10. It is branded orange but is unlocked and "working" on three UK. I can surf the net on it (I added a APN) and send and receive calls again just not getting any texts. At one point I did and it was when 3 told me to reboot the phone to finish the process and after reboot hey presto! I can send texts on three and other SIMs work fine. Can't receive calls either, when you phone it is says the number is not recognized.

Jul 19, 2010I just got my xperia yesterday but for some reason i cant seem to send text messages when i put my sim in the new phone. i can receive them, make and receive calls and get on the internet no problem. i have also tried resetting the factory settings twice!

I have English letters but have Korean symbols to change text to numbers etc. and lost the bar above the letters giving me word suggestions etc. I have switched off, removed battery and sim but still reverts back. Sep 13, 2010I have been having a problem recently with my phone sending text messages to random nonsensical numbers. i.e. I get a message failure because the phone tried to text "0110000100000" which is obviously not a phone number. I had installed handcent almost immeadiatly upon getting the phone. So I tried uninstalling it and putting on chomp. Still have the same problem. It seems to help if I use my task killer after using the sms app.
I am running the original firmware that came on the phone from Rogers, as everytime I use pc companion, it tells me i am up to date, and the update service locks up my computer (and my laptop and my wife's netbook).
I would rather not do a factory reset, but I am getting pretty close.

Howeverever since i have set up my emails i have not been able to receive any text messages through the stock messaging client or hancent sms.
