Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Deleteing Batch Emails In Standard Email App

How to delete mulitple emails from my inbox rather than having to delete individually from my inbox, and then having to repeat a second time from my trash can??
I currently am using the standard email app, which I have linked to my hotmail account. Although I prefer how deleting emails on my handset is not synced to my hotmail account (which is useful for emails I wish to later preserve on my laptop archive).
I am bemused as to why such a standardised function is missing (unless of course I have missed a trick). The time it takes to individually delete unnecessary emails completely from my handset is ridiculous, especially when attempting to empty the trash can (which I have never completely finished due time and patience).

Is there a way to batch delete emails? Or maybe an app from the market that allows you to do this. I have searched on the above question but found nothing.

I have set up the Email app on the phone to connect to my Yahoo! Mail account. However, the Email app always regards incoming messages as unread even if they have already been marked as read on the Yahoo! Mail account itself. This makes the unread messages count in the Email app inaccurate and unhelpful.
The Email app does not appear to possess a facility to mark several messages as read, the only way to bring the unread count down is to open each message in turn. Sometimes a message has to be opened twice in the app before it is regarded as read. I can delete more than one message on the phone, but this also deletes the messages on the Yahoo! Mail account, which is not what I want.
I have tried deleting the email account from the Email app and then reinstating it, but I now have an unread message count of 50 on the phone when all of these messages have, in fact, already been read on the Yahoo! Mail account.
I can also access the Yahoo! Mail account by means of the Yahoo! Mail app on the phone, but one of the disadvantages of this is that the icon for Yahoo! Mail does not possess an unread messages count at all.

First of all, the problem might be only because I don't know how to set up my phone. It is my first smart / android phone. So please cut answers like "check settings or L2use your phone etc" I am trying to find an answer for the following issues:
1) My email client - default client pre-instaled is not working as expected, I set up incoming + outcoming servers correctly - confirmed by email provider as well as my operator. I can receive emails ( with 3hours automatical check I never got a single notification regarding new email ) but the problem is that I CANNOT SEND EMAILS, well I can, but they never arrive ! I have tried this several times and failed. Any tips on this one ?
2) Google Maps or any other map / navi application from market is working only when I am connected to Wi-Fi Is there any offline possibility ? like a downloadable offline map ? Also I am confused about my 3G connection is not working with this application...but more to 3G at point no. 3
3) 3G connection not working as expected - I can browse internet with it, acces my email or facebook through the browser. But when I try the facebook client pre-instaled it never connects, nor does meebo (icq), google maps or market. It says something similar to "connection timedout" or "server packet not connected". If it would be a case of wrong settings then it probably wouldn't browse the internet, would it? Otherwise I am happy with my first android phone, it has few bugs. But give me a perfect freshie on market

It seems that you can not delete all emails together - you have to delete them one by one - what a faff and time consuming!!! Beats me why they remove certain logical things on this phone, not being able to send a contact is another.

Does anyone knows how to select text or copy it from emails on the X10? I work a lot with emails but some of my contacts can only use SMS so I have to keep copying info from email to sms, wich with this very high tech wonderful phone that I am having fun with, seems to be somehow impossible? Is it me and my bad tech skills or its the phone?

I have set up my X10 to download emails, which it does successfully, however it deletes them of my service provider's mail server so that they don't come through to my PC any more.I have selected both options on the X10 in "Delete email from server" ie "Never" and "When I delete from Inbox", but each has the same result.

Am looking for some help have had an issue on more than 1 occasion. Here goes hopefully i will explain it clearly . When receiving .jpg files via emails i am having problems and have had from day one is i cant seem to open the images through the phone. I have a image of the Android man in green in the emails with the filename eg car.jpg have tried clicking on it to open but no joy plz plz do you know what is wrong. Xperia x10.

I've set up an email account on my mini pro (NOT gmail or exchange) and it all works fine updating my inbox manually , however, I cant find any settings to automatically retrieve my emails periodically ( as far I can see auto sync refers to gmail or sony sync or road sync for exchange). Is there any way to auto sync an individual email account ?

I am currently using a x10i (x10?) on tmobile, i have the data plan ($10), and have my email connected via gmail. however, it seems like i have to do manual refresh in order to get email update. Is this normal or is there automatic feature that i must enable to have it alert me once an email is received?
Secondly, is it possible to set-up a third party email account, ex: Yahoo? I went through the notion of manually enter email account, but was unsucessful. It give me a msg that mailbox access is not supported for some tpes of yahoo mail accounts. Could this be an interference with gmail email, thus causing the problem? Even, using the manually setup option, it still fails to connect to my yahoo account.

I have noticed a probable gltich in the timescape, excuse me if I had mistaken. I see that all my accounts(face book,Twitter, SMS) are updated correctly but I don't find the call log and my email view of timescape correctly updated. Please help out to get this corrected. PS I am using the 1.6 version of Android.

I have my first ever phone without buttons...Sony Experia X10i which i imported my contacts from my sim card. I have installed Sony Ericsson PC Companion on my computer and I managed to add new contacts by adding them on my pc and then sync-ing which updated the contacts on my phone! (I was proud of my achievment...I use my calendar on my phone heaps and I was wondering if I can sync that to my Microsoft Outlook Express 2007 Calendar?

When newly setting up my X10 part of the setup process was (of course) email, so I entered my gmail info. I later set up gmail from the gmail icon.Now, when I receive email it shows in one..I open/read/close and it opens immediately in the other. I don't really care which I keep (although the gmail one is slightly nicer looking) but am afraid to delete either for fear of having it not work at all.

I know everyone thinks Moxier sucks, but I need something that will sync up my work email, work calendar, work tasks, and contacts all from an exchange server. I have moxier set up to flow through my webmail account and it woks pretty well. I was also using K9 for my personal email prior to 2.1 update this past weekend. Does any one have a suggestion as to what to use to replace moxier , and what app to use for my personal email?

Anyone using any other email app that is as close to the std one as possible? I dont mind it but need something with multi select function.My biggest gripe with the std app is that you have to select one email at a time to delete it, then you have to go into the trash folder and repeat the same process all over again to remove the deleted emails
Bit of a ball ache when you receive in excess of 15 to 20 emails.Any advice? Have tried K9 Mail but that force closes every time I try read mail in the Inbox ?

I have been trying to add an email account to my phone through the email button.I have also tried using K-9, but still no luck.I have added my gmail account with no problem, but would also like to add my yahoo email address.There seems to be a facility to do so.I have put my yahoo address and password in to the appropriate section, but the next page asks for my 'Username'.Any idea what the 'Username' means?I have tried putting in my yahoo email address, both with and without the 'yahoo.ca' bit, but I get an error message saying 'Setup could not finish.Username or password incorrect'.
