Samsung Captivate :: MS Exchange And Moving Emails To Folders
Jul 19, 2010I took the plunge and returned my iPhone 4 today and got the SC. As a past Blackberry user as well I have basic functionality needs of a email app and this may be the deal breaker. I have my Exchange account setup and working however when I open or select an email there is no option to move the email to a folder. So am I blind or screwed! My brother has an HTC Incredible and his has an option to Move. Did Samsung hide it?

May 26, 2010I'm kinda new to android, and not sure if this is a handset or os thing but, when you swipe up from the bottom of the x10 screen to display all your apps, is there a way to sort the apps into folders. i.e. move all games into a games folder, put all work apps into a work folder, etc. like i said not sure if this is an os thing or if i could download an app to do it, i have done a little searching online but didn't come up with any answers.

Apr 14, 2010Picked up my X10 yesterday from Vodafone and I am loving it! Always had SE and when I heard about this little beauty I couldn't wait to get it! My first Android phone so still getting used to it! Been reading through loads of Threads about Tone Picker and stuff and its sorted me right out, one thing which I cant do it make Folders in my Menu to tidy it up a bit? For example I wanna put all the Moxier (Calendar, contacts, Mail etc) into one folder so it looks let bogged up! Can you even add folders and move stuff?

Sep 7, 2010I just got the x10 and have a few questions. This is my first android/data using phone so they are probably dumb but I just wanna make sure before I get charged any extra. First, am I correct in that if I use Wi-Fi I will avoid the 3g charges since Im using another internet source? Also do things like the MobileTV and GPS use data?My second question was about mediascape. Is there any way to move or cut/paste media into different folders so that they dont show up in mediascape but rather have their own designated folder?

Apr 21, 2010First of all, the problem might be only because I don't know how to set up my phone. It is my first smart / android phone. So please cut answers like "check settings or L2use your phone etc" I am trying to find an answer for the following issues:
1) My email client - default client pre-instaled is not working as expected, I set up incoming + outcoming servers correctly - confirmed by email provider as well as my operator. I can receive emails ( with 3hours automatical check I never got a single notification regarding new email ) but the problem is that I CANNOT SEND EMAILS, well I can, but they never arrive ! I have tried this several times and failed. Any tips on this one ?
2) Google Maps or any other map / navi application from market is working only when I am connected to Wi-Fi Is there any offline possibility ? like a downloadable offline map ? Also I am confused about my 3G connection is not working with this application...but more to 3G at point no. 3
3) 3G connection not working as expected - I can browse internet with it, acces my email or facebook through the browser. But when I try the facebook client pre-instaled it never connects, nor does meebo (icq), google maps or market. It says something similar to "connection timedout" or "server packet not connected". If it would be a case of wrong settings then it probably wouldn't browse the internet, would it? Otherwise I am happy with my first android phone, it has few bugs. But give me a perfect freshie on market

Apr 11, 2010It seems that you can not delete all emails together - you have to delete them one by one - what a faff and time consuming!!! Beats me why they remove certain logical things on this phone, not being able to send a contact is another.

Nov 14, 2010How to delete mulitple emails from my inbox rather than having to delete individually from my inbox, and then having to repeat a second time from my trash can??
I currently am using the standard email app, which I have linked to my hotmail account. Although I prefer how deleting emails on my handset is not synced to my hotmail account (which is useful for emails I wish to later preserve on my laptop archive).
I am bemused as to why such a standardised function is missing (unless of course I have missed a trick). The time it takes to individually delete unnecessary emails completely from my handset is ridiculous, especially when attempting to empty the trash can (which I have never completely finished due time and patience).

Sep 17, 2010I have set up the Email app on the phone to connect to my Yahoo! Mail account. However, the Email app always regards incoming messages as unread even if they have already been marked as read on the Yahoo! Mail account itself. This makes the unread messages count in the Email app inaccurate and unhelpful.
The Email app does not appear to possess a facility to mark several messages as read, the only way to bring the unread count down is to open each message in turn. Sometimes a message has to be opened twice in the app before it is regarded as read. I can delete more than one message on the phone, but this also deletes the messages on the Yahoo! Mail account, which is not what I want.
I have tried deleting the email account from the Email app and then reinstating it, but I now have an unread message count of 50 on the phone when all of these messages have, in fact, already been read on the Yahoo! Mail account.
I can also access the Yahoo! Mail account by means of the Yahoo! Mail app on the phone, but one of the disadvantages of this is that the icon for Yahoo! Mail does not possess an unread messages count at all.

When receiving .jpg files via emails i am having problems and have had from day one is i cant seem to open the images through the phone.
