View 5 RepliesMy phone has started going off for no apparent reason recently and opening the case shows that the battery is slightly loose, so i push the battery back in and can turn it on again?
Anybody else had this, any suggested solution? I've had it for 8/9 months without a problem like this before these past few days.
Any guys just got my Droid X this morning and been messing around with it I love the phone to death and it really is a great device. One question I had was about the camera button any feel that this is a little flimsy or loose? or is that normal?

View 3 Replies View RelatedStrange thing happened. When I try to disable the cammera button ( Galaxo+ settings ) it doesn't work.In fact all it will do is force close on me. Everything else in 1.6.3.3 seems to be behaving quite well for me, even taking pictures.Haven't had the pixelated or no image thing at all.Is there something I am missing that I could try ?

1 since holder is pressing camera button is there any way to disable its functionality temporarily (same question for volume buttons too)?
2 Is there any app that can take phone to speakerphone mode when I answer it during car drive?
Looks like from the specs it's a cdma desire with a slightly better camera. No 8gb ROM not even the 1gb ROM space of the evo 4g. Even the ram is the same.

On button it isnt working,on galaxo+ I have enabled button but nothing, inapplications I havent camera firmware.
Does anyone know if there's a camera app that has "on screen controls" for settings. Specifically i'd like to be able to toggle the flash without having to go back into settings all the time. Just a little flash on/off toggle on the screen, it's such a simple thing, would make life easier but none of the camera apps I've tried have it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedLike many other people, my camera lens cover pushed in slightly letting dust onto the lens. I didn't want to go to verizon, lose my phone for a month, and lose my data just for a tiny part so I'm taking matters into my own hands. This procedure is currently in progress and may or may not be successful. Cross your fingers for me!
1)Take off the back cover of your phone.
2)Using your fingernail, gently pry up the camera lens cover. It is only attached by a weak adhesive. When you're done, the phone looks like this with the camera lense exposed:
3)Now pop the glass lens cover and the foam piece behind it away from the red ring and scrape away the old glue that held these parts together. Sorry I don't have a picture of this.
4)Put a dab of gorilla glue on your finger and smear it on the red ring. Place the glass lens cover on the glue without smearing glue on the lens. Use the back of a regular Bic-type pen to apply pressure to hold the components together.Well, that I far as I am. At 11:00, I think the glue will be dry enough to continue and I will update my progress. At this point my biggest worry is glue smudges on the glass.
Lately I've started noticing that pushing the End call button while the phone is in sleep or idle mode wakes the phone up like the unlock button does. Has it always done this? I can't remember being aware of this feature last year when I got the phone.

The ShutterCallback trick is in use. Does somebody have some other ideas?
Boy, it feels like going all the way back to J2ME.
A few weeks back, when I was considering to switch to Galaxo or not, we had a thread here mentioning an odd issue,
Every 3rd picture taken with the camera app would be bad (or just a dud).
At the time, I couldn't reproduce the issue and it didn't bother me. But, just today afternoon (and a bit early in the week), I encountered something similar - every other picture had a 50% chance of being bad (just blank). It got to the point that the camera was just un-usable. I spent a good bit of time investigating this and I think I have an explanation. But first, let me walk you through what I did.
By default, I keep my camera to take 5 Megapixel shots at "super fine" setting. With that, I couldn't take any good shots AT ALL. I reduced it to 1M and "normal" setting. Things were a bit better, in that now only every other shot was bad. But, at least I was able to use the camera.
I use 3 desktop screens filled with widgets. I disabled most of my widgets and reduced the number of screens to 2. (I'm running Drakaz's darksense theme for Galaxo 1.6.3 ). With this, the camera was MUCH better. In fact, I could take 5 shots continuously without any problems (testing at home).
In some ways, it looks like I was stretching the limits of my i7500 a bit too much and so, the camera just didn't work right, but I can live with fewer screens and fewer widgets.
I miss the Handcent SMS widget, but from what I observed, its too resource-intensive for my needs. The only widgets I use now are from "Jorte" , the organizer app (really good too!) and "SMS Im Away".
So, for those of you who need the camera in working order, consider disabling a few screens and widgets.
I, i am currently using Mustymod firmawre (v.3 ) I need bluetooth and camera and musty rom doesn't support it. So what is the latest stable firmware with bluetooth?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my hero over the weekend and maybe I just didn't notice it until now. The bottom button/trackball plate seems to have a little looseness or play in it. If I push it left/right or up/down it moves a slight amount. It doesn't feel like it would pop off but its something I just noticed today. Or do I have to take it in to sprint for a replacement?
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhile taking apart my Galaxy I broke the copper ribbon to the lock button and now I cannot unlock the phone! Is there a hack or other way to unlock this phone? It currently has Galaxo 1.6.3.3
I can probably boot into recovery and flash any zip but currently I cannot get to the home screen as it is locked so Lock 2.0 or other Market app is not a solution.
Mine feels a little loose, and it make a rattle sound, am i the only one with this? its like the plastic isnt tight or something, but when you press it its nice and firm to "click" up or down.
also the bottom of the screen/whole left side where the KB is kind of dips down about a hundreth or tenth of an inch wen you press something on the screen on that side, im guessing thats normal for a slider.
Another thing (beside LED notification) I cannot find on the body of my Cappy: the button to start camera instantly. I came from Motorola Milestone (left to my wife) where button dedicated to camera was obvious.Anyone knows if any of outside buttons can be used as bringing camera in?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed while trying to put my phone into download mode that my camera button appears to be remapped or buggered in some way. The phone would simply never go into download mode (vol down/camera/end) and would, instead, just boot up like normal. I thought that the battery was too low or something of that sort, so I let the phone boot up and just tried to use each button to see how they would go. Volume down and end worked fine, but when I push camera, instead of actually taking a picture, the camera button seems to:
1) Adjust the volume up and down
2) Go to my contacts list
3) Dial the contact at the top of the list
While I'm sure I could talk to my local Mazda dealer about _something_, I can actually call them on my own just fine without the help of my camera button. But, what's worse is that I'm sure the camera button's remapping (or whatever) is what's causing me difficulties getting this thing into download mode.
Is there a way to disable that stupid button? I hate the location of it. Also, is there some kind of slide-to-unlock feature for these phones? I know we have the slide security pad thing, but I was wondering more along the lines of the iPhone and Droid... slide a button across the screen to unlock.

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust spotted this on Amazon: Amazon.com: Amzer 1600 mAh Lithium Ion Standrad Battery for Samsung Captivate i897 and Samsung Vibrant T959: Cell Phones. I'm honestly happy enough with the existing battery -- I have to try REALLY hard to kill it in a day -- but every extra mAh helps, right? Too bad this one is only 100mAh better than stock. Doesn't really seem worth $50 to me. But maybe, since this is listed as their "Standard" battery, they've got an extended one coming down the pipeline. I'd spend $50 for 2000mAh, easy.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI don't have ChompSMS, never have, I do however have Handcent SMS downloaded but this isn't the app that opens when I press the camera button. It's the default messaging application. There is no setting for "shortcuts" or whatever has been created with my camera button.
