Oct 26, 2010These packages are alternative gapps. These Gapps should improve performance. On top of that all apps are up to date (like YouTube). Ultra Light version will also remove unnecessary preinstalled apps like yaam, DSP Audio Manager and so on (and some more gapps of course).

Jan 27, 2010On the behold 2 there is no light when in the video mode like with the regular behold. Sometimes I would like to shoot videos of the kids outside at night but the lighting is bad. I downloaded momentflash and love it. I used that while video recording it worked great. My only concern is the warning with momentflash that says
"overuse of the flash may damage it especially in bright mode" Is there anything that can be done to have a light when recording? Or to dim the light a bit?
Samsung Galaxy S :: Camera Not Working In Low Light Conditions
Jul 14, 2010I'm considering getting the Galaxy S, but the only drawback I can see right now if the absence of a flash for the camera. I know flashes on camera phones aren't all that great, but they do help in many situations. I read in a couple places that this phone has a night mode negating the need for the flash. So far I have not been able to find any sample photos taken in low light conditions, say a portrait of friends in a dark restaurant, or at a party. Can those of you who have the phone post some sample shots in these conditions?

Mar 15, 2010Does anyone know if there's a camera app that has "on screen controls" for settings. Specifically i'd like to be able to toggle the flash without having to go back into settings all the time. Just a little flash on/off toggle on the screen, it's such a simple thing, would make life easier but none of the camera apps I've tried have it.

Jun 27, 2010Strange thing happened.When I try to disable the cammera button ( Galaxo+ settings ) it doesn't work.In fact all it will do is force close on me. Everything else in 1.6.3.3 seems to be behaving quite well for me, even taking pictures.Haven't had the pixelated or no image thing at all.Is there something I am missing that I could try ?

Samsung Galaxy I7500 :: Camera - Couldn't Take Any Good Shots At All
Aug 7, 2010A few weeks back, when I was considering to switch to Galaxo or not, we had a thread here mentioning an odd issue,
Every 3rd picture taken with the camera app would be bad (or just a dud).
At the time, I couldn't reproduce the issue and it didn't bother me. But, just today afternoon (and a bit early in the week), I encountered something similar - every other picture had a 50% chance of being bad (just blank). It got to the point that the camera was just un-usable. I spent a good bit of time investigating this and I think I have an explanation. But first, let me walk you through what I did.
By default, I keep my camera to take 5 Megapixel shots at "super fine" setting. With that, I couldn't take any good shots AT ALL. I reduced it to 1M and "normal" setting. Things were a bit better, in that now only every other shot was bad. But, at least I was able to use the camera.
I use 3 desktop screens filled with widgets. I disabled most of my widgets and reduced the number of screens to 2. (I'm running Drakaz's darksense theme for Galaxo 1.6.3 ). With this, the camera was MUCH better. In fact, I could take 5 shots continuously without any problems (testing at home).
In some ways, it looks like I was stretching the limits of my i7500 a bit too much and so, the camera just didn't work right, but I can live with fewer screens and fewer widgets.
I miss the Handcent SMS widget, but from what I observed, its too resource-intensive for my needs. The only widgets I use now are from "Jorte" , the organizer app (really good too!) and "SMS Im Away".
So, for those of you who need the camera in working order, consider disabling a few screens and widgets.

Samsung I7500 :: Samsung I7500 - Low Middle Or High-end Android Smartphone
Jan 23, 2010The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?
I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.
Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.

Oct 7, 2010I am extremely happy with my DX. My only complaint is the quality of the camera in low light. Every picture I take looks grainy. At times the flash washes everything out. Aug 4, 2010My last phone was a Nokia N86 8MP. Like the x10, it to had a 8.1 MP camera. Unlike the x10, the images on the Nokia seemed a little clearer, but what really sets the Nokia's camera apart from the x10's is the flash. I recently tried taking a photo with the x10 in a dark room, although the photo light seemed bright, you couldn't see anything past 5 ft, the same applies in video mode. With the Nokia that was never a problem, the flash was bright enough to light up the entire room and so was the video light. I suggest, if it's legally possible, SE have it's testers look at the Nokia N86 8MP and borrow, if not improve upon their camera, flash and video setup.

Mar 18, 2010Sorry if this thread seems inconsequential but I have been rendering myselves sleepless nights over the past couple of days ( and nights ) due to my inability to choose between the above two said android phones. I like the i5700 for its zippy 800 MHz processor and that its got the 2.1 update. I like the i7500 for its 5 MP camera and flash + a larger screen to play with I would have gone in for the i7500 but have been hearing about Samsung deciding against not updating it to version 2.1 which can off course be done taking the un-official channel. Moreover the 528 Mhz processor is certainly lagging.
But still I see people in here Going after the i7500 .... Adding to it there is more threads and discussions going around on the i7500 as compared to the i5700. Am I missing something in the i7500 or is it just that i am a stupid newbie ... I have gone through many many pages of information on this thread before posting this query.
