Anyone got a slightly loose camera button? Mine rocks slightly top to bottom if you press on it at the edge. Works fine though, it's just a little annoying

Mine feels a little loose, and it make a rattle sound, am i the only one with this? its like the plastic isnt tight or something, but when you press it its nice and firm to "click" up or down.
also the bottom of the screen/whole left side where the KB is kind of dips down about a hundreth or tenth of an inch wen you press something on the screen on that side, im guessing thats normal for a slider.

Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. Can anyone help me out?

I tried searching for this but couldn't find a thread that discussed it. My power button appears as though its been jammed. I dropped my phone on its corner where the power button is but I don't think thats what the problem is. Anyhow, recently my power button responds but I have to really press it hard and it as though the button is jammed cause it doesn't depress as far.
My question is that is there a way to designate the camera button to become the power button? I know on some phones you can make different buttons do different things and I was curious if this was possible on the Droid.

What is the deal with the power and volume buttons all being chrome but they decide to make the camera one red? I really hope Verizon didn't think this was a cool thing to do for their brand color.

Im not a big fan of the 2 position camera button on the X. Is there anyway to make the camera work like it does with google goggles? Just one icon on the screen to press and snap a picture.

OK this is weird, I haven't really taken much pics with my Droid X until recently. First time I had the phone, the camera button worked great, took a few pics here and there just to test it out. Have not used it since then, until recently. It was working fine after taking a few shots but from some reason, it won't take any pics now. Also pressing the camera button does not open the camera app at all now (it used to before).I know it's two stages, autofocus then press all the way down to take the pic, but it aint working. I slowly press it for autofocus, nothing happens. I then completely press it down, still nothing. Sometimes it does look like it focuses really quick then the LED light flashes for a moment but camera does not take the pic (no click or anything). And now it hardly even does that anymore. I tried a camera app that has the buttons on screen and that works taking pics so I'm guessing its my camera button... Anyone had this issue? This really sucks, I'm going to have to take this to VZ store near my house, if anything would they replace it with a new phone or a refurb?

Just recieved Droid X on Aug 5th 2010. Today (21 Aug) I got my camera out of it case (hard case) and noticed the snap button missing,so I went to the store to have it fixed or another button to put on..Just found out about the fine print in the contract I have with verizion. $7.99 per month for Insurance don't forget about the deductible of $90, return the old phone after the new one arrives.NOW when the old one gets to tech services and they say YOU caused the damages to the old phone, you will be charged $600.This is what the customer service rep told me.Can the camera button fall off that easy?I dont think its worth $90 deductable. SO can someone tell me where I can get a replacement button to take pictures with.

My physical camera button won't take a picture. It does the ding noise for being focused or whatever and the square turns green, but it won't take the picture anymore. If I want to take one I have to use the auto focus on screen tap. The same goes for the camcorder function. I have no clue what's causing this as it always worked fine before. I have the leaked 2.3.15 Froyo with rub-ix focused Rom + nexTheme. To my knowledge the camera button always worked fine until I noticed today that it wasn't. (Now watch, this is probably some stupid obvious thing I've overlooked.

I have a X that has 2.1 -update 1 on it that I got from a friend. I want to have 2.2 on it but when I try to update the phone OTA, it says that I am up to date. So I am guessing that are some things he played with that is making this not work. What I am hoping I can acomplish is get stock 2.2 on my X even if it involves RSD lite or other methods.RSD was the way I was going to go, untill I ran into the problem that the camera button does not work, so i can not get into the bootloader. Also, adb reboot bootloader isn't working, and rooting and trying to get Clockwork Recovery to work isn't doing what I need.So I am out of ideas on how to get 2.2 or any other ROM for that matter on my X.

There seams to be a widespread problem of the gold coated camera button flaking and or wearing over time. The top of my camera button is completely white and looks awful.Other then this,I have no complaints about the phone.Don't feel like dealing with VZ or Moto and getting a new phone for something so small.Has anyone painted the camera button? If so what kind did you use and how does it look?

Just noticed the dedicated gold camera button has pretty much faded to white.Really discouraging considering the phone is not even a month old.I treat the phone better then I treat myself, so there should be no reason why this happened.

One thing i envy on the iPhone is that it has a real button for 'Home' so you can wake the phone up from sleep by pressing it. Its 10000% more convenient than going up top to the lock/sleep button (especially on the droid which feels kinda awkward to get to) So my question is, are there any apps out there, or any settings, that will make it so i can wake up my phone by pressing either the volume rocker or the camera button or maybe something that keeps the home key awake?

The camera button just sits there useless until the camera is used. How about letting us map that to a function? Personally, I would like to be able to use it as a Pause/Play toggle. When I am out and about listening to music, I very often need to pause. Currently, this requires pulling out the phone, pressing the power button, swiping it open, and (if the music screen is up) pressing pause. That is WAY too long, and a simple hardware button would be perfect.

I am wondering why now, all of the sudden my camera button is taking me to the messages app. It didn't used to be like. Is there some settings I might be able to change? I haven't messed with anything as far as I know but this is pretty annoying. By the way, the camera still makes its startup noise.

I have taken videos with the Droid in the past, but the past few days, as soon as i toggle the camera switch UP to capture a video, it gives me a force close screen. i have restarted the phone a few times, but same thing..
also, sometimes the camera button does nothing when trying to use it to bring up camera , i have to manually go to drop down list of apps to get to it. not a HUGE problem, but still a problem when it doesn't do what its made to do.

Like many other people, my camera lens cover pushed in slightly letting dust onto the lens. I didn't want to go to verizon, lose my phone for a month, and lose my data just for a tiny part so I'm taking matters into my own hands. This procedure is currently in progress and may or may not be successful. Cross your fingers for me!
1)Take off the back cover of your phone.
2)Using your fingernail, gently pry up the camera lens cover. It is only attached by a weak adhesive. When you're done, the phone looks like this with the camera lense exposed:
3)Now pop the glass lens cover and the foam piece behind it away from the red ring and scrape away the old glue that held these parts together. Sorry I don't have a picture of this.
4)Put a dab of gorilla glue on your finger and smear it on the red ring. Place the glass lens cover on the glue without smearing glue on the lens. Use the back of a regular Bic-type pen to apply pressure to hold the components together.Well, that I far as I am. At 11:00, I think the glue will be dry enough to continue and I will update my progress. At this point my biggest worry is glue smudges on the glass.

I just got my hero over the weekend and maybe I just didn't notice it until now. The bottom button/trackball plate seems to have a little looseness or play in it. If I push it left/right or up/down it moves a slight amount. It doesn't feel like it would pop off but its something I just noticed today. Or do I have to take it in to sprint for a replacement?

So I have a squeaky clean account with Verizon, four lines, all smart phones minus one phone. NEVER missed a payment and always upgraded. I have had plenty of problems with my phones but never complained too much or created issued. I have been very nice with them, but I've about hit my limit here.
We have a defective Moto Droid on our account, and a defective Incredible. They have already agreed to give me an X for my Incredible. But, they have sent us not one, but now 3 refurbrished phones that are crap. The screens have ALL been loose, and the build has been absolute crap compared to the original phone. They are sending me another one from a different warehouse tomorrow. I am so irritated. If I receieve another refurb with a loose screen and bad build I don't think I am going to be able to deal with Verizon very nicely.
What do you think I should do? Should I be nice and wait for ANOTHER refurb if this one is bad? Or should I get mad and tell them they can take there refurb backs and send me a NEW phone?

I received a refurb for the one that bricked and the screen on this thing is driving me nuts. It clicks like a BB storm when tapped, it opens in my pocket. Heck the screen will shift almost 1/4 inch from top to bottom. I liked my old Droid and after almost 9 months of use it was still tight. My question is, did quality control miss my first or second Droid and will Verizon give me grief if I complain about it?
