Oct 24, 2010When taking pictures in low light, my flash seems to be way too bright. It completely washes out almost the whole picture. Any special settings I can use?

View 2 RepliesMy last phone was a Nokia N86 8MP. Like the x10, it to had a 8.1 MP camera. Unlike the x10, the images on the Nokia seemed a little clearer, but what really sets the Nokia's camera apart from the x10's is the flash. I recently tried taking a photo with the x10 in a dark room, although the photo light seemed bright, you couldn't see anything past 5 ft, the same applies in video mode. With the Nokia that was never a problem, the flash was bright enough to light up the entire room and so was the video light. I suggest, if it's legally possible, SE have it's testers look at the Nokia N86 8MP and borrow, if not improve upon their camera, flash and video setup.

Im curious, am i the only one who's getting quite annoyed about the glaring too bright white LED light that comes from the buttons? its almost as annoying as the early PDA's which had piercing blue flashing bluetooth indicators....

View 2 Replies View RelatedI lost my dare phone and need a replacement. I was looking at the droid for its led flash, and rooted wifi teathering for my ipod/future ipad. Also love the gps feature. But the camera kinda sucks, and i'm big on cameras and i'm not sure how future proof the processor is. The incredible does not appear to have an LED flash worked out yet(was my favorite feature on my casio tough phone) and as far as i know none has successfully tethered it to an idevice yet? Do you think wifi tethering is going to be a future on this device? And how do you think Big red is going to handle it? And with the LED flash is it just a matter of time thing or are the talented app developers running into some blockades? Any other considerations between the two devices? keyboard i could care less about, and the price right now is the same.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI used this app on my original Motorola Droid and loved it, but I have noticed some problems with it on the Incredible. I'm wondering if it's just me or if anyone else has had these problems as well.
1. LED Light does not change color. No matter what color I set the LED light to in the Handcent app, it always just blinks green. This isn't necessarily a huge deal, but I liked having my text messages blink a different color than my emails and other notifications.
2. LED light does not always blink and screen does not turn on. I noticed that the LED light only flashes once in a while, no matter what type of blink setting I choose. Also, the screen does not turn on when I get a text even though I have the box checked that is supposed to enable the screen to turn on despite having the popup box disabled. Once again, not a huge deal, but it would be nice if these things worked since I got used to these features on the Droid.
3. Phone does not vibrate at all when in Vibrate mode. Ok, this one is a huge deal. No matter which vibrate settings I choose, the phone will not vibrate when I receive a text if the phone is in vibrate mode. I am missing tons of texts now because I need to have my phone silent for most of the day. I checked the recent reviews of the app and didn't see anyone complain about this, so I don't know if there is just something wrong with my phone or if the app just isn't very compatible with the Incredible.
I have the Epic 4g and I am trying to see if I can get an LED light to flash when I have a new message/email. When my phone is on the counter, I find myself always having to take my screen out of sleep mode just to see if I missed a message.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn the behold 2 there is no light when in the video mode like with the regular behold. Sometimes I would like to shoot videos of the kids outside at night but the lighting is bad. I downloaded momentflash and love it. I used that while video recording it worked great. My only concern is the warning with momentflash that says
"overuse of the flash may damage it especially in bright mode" Is there anything that can be done to have a light when recording? Or to dim the light a bit?
I'm considering getting the Galaxy S, but the only drawback I can see right now if the absence of a flash for the camera. I know flashes on camera phones aren't all that great, but they do help in many situations. I read in a couple places that this phone has a night mode negating the need for the flash. So far I have not been able to find any sample photos taken in low light conditions, say a portrait of friends in a dark restaurant, or at a party. Can those of you who have the phone post some sample shots in these conditions?
View 5 Replies View Relatedi was having the same issue when i was using this phone on 1.6. but only this one none of the others had this problem. when i switch to video camera mode its fine, when i hit record it starts to record and the little light comes on aswell. in the menu the option is clicked off. whys it doing this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am extremely happy with my DX. My only complaint is the quality of the camera in low light. Every picture I take looks grainy. At times the flash washes everything out. I know it's just a camera and I shouldn't expect much, but for such a great device that does everything else, it's a bit of a bummer. I've been looking at low light photos from the SF and they appear to be worlds apart. Does anyone have any hints to get decent looking photos in low light?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Flash on the camera has stopped working all of a sudden. I checked the camcorder and the light (flash on) didn't work. I tapped the back of the phone near the flash. It worked. I went back to camera and turned on flash, it worked. So by tapping something I jigged something around in there and the flash was working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe camera flash on the Incredible is killing me, it basically blurs out everything in the picture, especially a face! Anything white in the picture will have not detail or definition when you use the flash to take a picture.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to start the camera flash for an app I'm doing but I don't understand why it isn't working.

For information I'm using a LG Optimus 3D for the test of this app.
Bought a HTC Desire and just cannot get its camera flash working. Obviously having hard time with people at the shop ("have you tried taking these pictures at night, maybe it understands that it is still daytime even if you tried it in bathroom"). My dumb brain would suggest that manual - flash always on (unless that 5% battery limit is not hit), automatic - depends on sensor income, off - no flash. Really hard to search for stuff like that in forums as usually "flash not working" refers to Adobe Flash.
