Samsung Galaxy I7500 :: Cannot Enable And Disable Root
Apr 7, 2010I just installed recovery 5.0 and galaxo 1.6.2 rom. But when I enable or disable the root in recovery mode, an error message is displayed - "error enabling su !" or "error disabling su !" .

Oct 31, 2009I have rooted my phone and have now the recovery mode from HD blog. It's was working fine. So I tried to get the Galaxhero ROM installed. I did the following steps:
1) Reboot in recovery mode (Volume down + both Call buttons) and choose "Nandroid backup" to save a backup of your current ROM just in case.
2) Backup G apps
3) Then, choose "Wipe data/factory reset". The phone will reboot in recovery mode again.
4) Choose "Apply sdcard:update.zip" (second menu entry on the recovery screen)
5) Restore Google applications ("Restore G.Apps")
6) "Enable root (su)".
But then enable root failed! Anyway I went on further with reboot system. It rebooted till the "android HD logo" showed up and then suddenly the screen went off and it seemed like my phone went off. So I went back to the recovery mode and did the following steps:
Wipe data
Restore backup
Restore G apps
Enable root SU, but again enable su failed!!
Again I choose reboot system, and when the reboot came again to the "android HD logo". It stuck there and stayed looping.
First, why do I still see the android HD logo again because I did a wipe!
Second, How can I get my phone working again!
Samsung I7500 :: Tried To Enable Swap / Now Won't Start
Dec 15, 2009I am running Galax Hero 1.1. I tried to enable swap. First, I used the recovery mode and selected format ext. SD card with swap, then i restarted and enabled comp-cache and set it to 2 (now I see it should have been 0). Then I restarted and I just get the Android splash screen running forever. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Oct 2, 2010My SGS (well its actually my wife's but I use it also) will not connect to WiFi networks, other than the one we have at home. If we are out, the phone will be able to see lots of WiFi networks, but it cannot connect to any of them as it says the signal is poor. Other people can be sat right next to other with other phones and have no problem connecting and they have strong signals. At home it will connect, but even then there is only one bar of signal, even though the router is in the same room. It appears that the phone just cannot get a strong enough signal to connect.

Apr 9, 2010Since JC6 is a leaked fw I don't think Google will whitelist it so all apps will be available in the market. I know that Galaxo 1.6.2 enables a full market but somehow I can't seem to do so in 'stock' JC6. I'm running stock JC6 with IH8 baseband.
I searched the threads on this matter and only thing that comes close is this post from Kam. Somehow I can't change the fingerprint without adb remount. Is busybox required to adb remount?
Anyway is there any way to enable full market in stock JC6 with IH8 baseband without having to install Galaxo?

Samsung Galaxy S :: Unable To Scan For Networks In WiFi
Sep 8, 2010I'm having the dreaded "Unable to Scan for Networks" in the WIFI. Can I fix without doing a reset? I'm on vodafone UK. All the info I have been reading points to me having to do a master reset. Or deleting a file if my phone is rooted. Can I root my phone to do this? or is this not possibly on a voda contact mobile. After I accidentally removed my WiFi from my phone. Then added it again. Getting my WiFi working. Info about Rooted phones (is it possible with mine?). A good backup software for PC, is kies any good what does it backup?

I commute between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland (UK) every week so my phone goes to roaming settings. I am on the Three network down south and so long as my phone connects to Three (UK) when it roams i dont get charged a cent. Sometimes it likes to jump to O2 or other networks and it is costing me a lot of money. Is there a way to fix the network its allowed to connect to without turning off the "roaming" setting?

Jul 12, 2010I was originally going to get either the HTC Hero or Motorola Droid but found out they are both CMDA. and the Milestone is out of my budget. People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.

Feb 18, 2014Problem: When pressing the power button to turn phone on, there is no samsung boot logo. the only thing that shows up is a black screen, [the backlight] it will stay that way until the battery dies.
i know it's not a problem with the display because i can get to the recovery screen by pressing the three buttons. i tried numerous wipes and factory resets, even tried to reboot from there. but it still wont boot up, it only ends up with that black screen. Also the green battery shows which further indicates that it's not a display problem.

That's basically all i know about this phone, i know it's a clone because on the hardware differences under the hood compared to the real S4. [it's probably a legend or a superking since it's from korea i think] im not sure which operating system it runs, from the looks of it i dont think it has one.
Some things i've tried: i downloaded android SDK, MTK droid tools, SP FLash tools, for some reason, i keep getting error 8200 in sp flash tools and mtk droid tools doesn't detect my phone. I tried flash updating firmware with adb sideload, it always ends up with an error ''aborted''. i can't enable usb debugging since the phone wont turn on.

May 25, 2010i think my gt-i7500 is bricked. i downloaded the 1.6 firmware(.tar) along with ODIN.. set up the downloading mode and used ODIN to flash it to 1.6. ODIN showed PASS in the window but the phone refuses to boot up. It remains frozen with the SAMSUNG sign. Recovery mode is not working either.

I enabled the usb debug mode and when I connect the phone to the computer, it says new hardware found but then it cannot find the driver. I point it to the Samsung directory but it says "Windows was unable to install your Unknown device"..............
