View 6 RepliesI am running Galax Hero 1.1. I tried to enable swap. First, I used the recovery mode and selected format ext. SD card with swap, then i restarted and enabled comp-cache and set it to 2 (now I see it should have been 0). Then I restarted and I just get the Android splash screen running forever. Can anyone suggest a solution?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince JC6 is a leaked fw I don't think Google will whitelist it so all apps will be available in the market. I know that Galaxo 1.6.2 enables a full market but somehow I can't seem to do so in 'stock' JC6. I'm running stock JC6 with IH8 baseband.
I searched the threads on this matter and only thing that comes close is this post from Kam. Somehow I can't change the fingerprint without adb remount. Is busybox required to adb remount?
Anyway is there any way to enable full market in stock JC6 with IH8 baseband without having to install Galaxo?
How to enable swap on external sdcard? I've got Galaxo rom and 64MB SD card, I want to use entire card for swap partition.
View 48 Replies View RelatedI just installed recovery 5.0 and galaxo 1.6.2 rom. But when I enable or disable the root in recovery mode, an error message is displayed - "error enabling su !" or "error disabling su !" .
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have so far found two bugs in Galaxo 1.6.3:
a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
I have rooted my phone and have now the recovery mode from HD blog. It's was working fine. So I tried to get the Galaxhero ROM installed. I did the following steps:
1) Reboot in recovery mode (Volume down + both Call buttons) and choose "Nandroid backup" to save a backup of your current ROM just in case.
2) Backup G apps
3) Then, choose "Wipe data/factory reset". The phone will reboot in recovery mode again.
4) Choose "Apply sdcard:update.zip" (second menu entry on the recovery screen)
5) Restore Google applications ("Restore G.Apps")
6) "Enable root (su)".
But then enable root failed! Anyway I went on further with reboot system. It rebooted till the "android HD logo" showed up and then suddenly the screen went off and it seemed like my phone went off. So I went back to the recovery mode and did the following steps:
Wipe data
Restore backup
Restore G apps
Enable root SU, but again enable su failed!!
Again I choose reboot system, and when the reboot came again to the "android HD logo". It stuck there and stayed looping.
First, why do I still see the android HD logo again because I did a wipe!
Second, How can I get my phone working again!
Does the i7500 actually have a FM radio? I've read quite a few reviews on the net and there seems to be slight confusion by reviewers weather or not it has one. Some say yes others say no! Is it a case that the hardware is there, but android doesn't support it yet?

View 3 Replies View Relatedi'm using a UK O2 samsung galaxy and i'm trying to upgrade the firmware on it (hopefully to improve battery life). However when i plug the phone into my laptop the NPS software doesn't recognise that there is a phone attached and instead tells me i have 2 mass storage devices connected (an F and an E drive).Does anyone know why this might be? and more importantly how to fix it so i can do the upgrade?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to flash my new Galaxy using Odin (because I got it sim-free and I don't have the market). I'm doing this on WinXP inside VMWare on Linux, unfortunately. It had only this to say: <1> Added! <1> Detected!
That is, after I filled in the filename and pressed start, the two boxes went yellow and the timer began counting but there was no other output. I killed it after about 45 mins. I've tried this with the II5 (one file) and IH7 (multiple files) firmware versions linked to from this site. Now, I guess the obvious culprit here is VMWare, but it seems odd that it would find the device and then give up (and NPS and mass storage work as well as expected). Also, even if I don't connect the Galaxy to the PC, the only way I can find to leave the 'downloading...' screen is to pull out the battery - is that normal? I did try with native WinXP on an old laptop too, but it's a 7-year-old installation and it wasn't playing ball... so I'm hoping someone here has a suggestion for how to proceed that doesn't involve a fresh Windows install?
So I made a discovery - my dialpad doesn't work during a call. Even if I bring it up via the softkeys, the numbers don't register a tap...anyone. else have this issue or is it just my phone?

The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?
I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.
Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.
there I am new to this. I would like to find out some information in regards to and update for the samsung galaxy I7500.I live in Australia and it seems the phone cant be updated. Is this true. I have tried on many times to plug my phone into my computer via pc studio.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSorry if this thread seems inconsequential but I have been rendering myselves sleepless nights over the past couple of days ( and nights ) due to my inability to choose between the above two said android phones. I like the i5700 for its zippy 800 MHz processor and that its got the 2.1 update. I like the i7500 for its 5 MP camera and flash + a larger screen to play with I would have gone in for the i7500 but have been hearing about Samsung deciding against not updating it to version 2.1 which can off course be done taking the un-official channel. Moreover the 528 Mhz processor is certainly lagging.
But still I see people in here Going after the i7500 .... Adding to it there is more threads and discussions going around on the i7500 as compared to the i5700. Am I missing something in the i7500 or is it just that i am a stupid newbie ... I have gone through many many pages of information on this thread before posting this query.
Would you have bought a i5700, if you hadn't bought a i7500?

Pls look at this pix, and tell me what can be wrong with this keyboard.
In my settings these are the steps:
Settings>Locale & text >Samsung keyboard, that's all I have, no other Keyboard available, am I missing something or what?
Both handset uses same android version. 95% of the applications are same.
HTC receive more wifi ID which samsung i7500 does not.
Any setup i need to do in samsung to receive more wifi?

View 9 Replies View RelatedOne of the main reason I purchased this phone is to mirror the screen in my car and use the GPS on my in-dash. From my reading, it seems that it has been disabled and there is no clear answer that I have found stating that the hardware to perform TV Out was removed. Has anyone investigated this feature and had luck? I am still on a hunt to fix this feature because it's a big factor on whether or not I'll keep the phone.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been pretty vocal about this issue, because it's one that really bothered me. Mainly because the Galaxy S supports HSUPA, and really, any new high end phone should. I suspected AT&T was disabling it on the Captivate, likely to save features like that for the iPhone 4, and it looks like that was right. After a suggestion from trinikartel at XDA (thanks twice for good info that helped figure this out!), I flashed the i9000 JP3 modem firmware to the Captivate, and sure enough, the result was:
I've only been an Android owner for less than two weeks, so it took a little while to figure out at first, haha, but the process is very simple:
1. Download an i9000 firmware, I got the JP3 firmware from Home -. See my note below
2. Extract the firmware and find the modem firmware tar file. I9000XXJP3.tar for JP3, not to be confused with I9000XXJP3.rar which was the whole archive. If you're not sure, open it up, it should have modem.bin in it....................
S Duos in incompactible with otg, so the device doesn't support pendrives. Whether flashing with an appropriate custom Rom will enable otg?.
