Samsung I7500 :: Tried To Enable Swap / Now Won't Start
Dec 15, 2009I am running Galax Hero 1.1. I tried to enable swap. First, I used the recovery mode and selected format ext. SD card with swap, then i restarted and enabled comp-cache and set it to 2 (now I see it should have been 0). Then I restarted and I just get the Android splash screen running forever. Can anyone suggest a solution?

May 3, 2010I asked in a couple of places but nobody answered so i just tried making compcache work by myself. what i did was:
- use recovery to format external sd fat32+swap
- use galaxoconf to activate compcache setting it on default which is 25600 i think.
Now the thing is - how do i know if it works and did i even do it right?

So i got a 32GB TF card and i try to modify the vold.fstab to swap internal/external storage card,but failed.

Nov 8, 2013i own a Samsung Galaxy Young GT-S6310, and i'm too disperate with my internal memory... i have tryed many methods:
1. Editing Vold.Fstab file, but it's impossible because it will not show internal Mount Point.
2. Searched on Play Store and downloaded "External 2 Internal" app and i have installed it, then i have swapped memory, but internal and external shows same values...
3. Downloaded "Link2SD" app and i have created a Ext2 partition on my SD Card... but nothing (shows my memory is emulated)...
I will increase my internal memory because i must download games...

Jul 13, 2010I'm a cross border employee and would like to use navigation my Galaxy i7500 whilst roaming and minimize cost at the same time. I have AndNav2 set up with maps of western Europe cached on the SD-card. Since A-GPS still generates data traffic (and having disabled this option whilst roaming),no position data is available.I still have an external bluetooth GPS receiver and paired it with my Galaxy.How do I get my Galaxy to use the external GPS source for apps like AndNav2 or Google Maps for that matter.Any help is highly appreciated.

May 2, 2014I'm searching for a solution to swap external sd to internal. I had to break the internal storage to make a I9003 working again.
Now, it boots the ROM from the external (but that's an other story).
Camera needs storage0 (internal storage) to work properly for DCIM. But I have only storage1 (inserted microsd). In 2.3.6 swap sd was possible by editing vold.fstab. In Kitkat the opportunity has been denied.
I search for a way to make storage1 to storage0 in CM11. Whether CyanogenMod is working on it?

Apr 9, 2010Since JC6 is a leaked fw I don't think Google will whitelist it so all apps will be available in the market. I know that Galaxo 1.6.2 enables a full market but somehow I can't seem to do so in 'stock' JC6. I'm running stock JC6 with IH8 baseband.
I searched the threads on this matter and only thing that comes close is this post from Kam. Somehow I can't change the fingerprint without adb remount. Is busybox required to adb remount?
Anyway is there any way to enable full market in stock JC6 with IH8 baseband without having to install Galaxo?

Oct 31, 2009I have rooted my phone and have now the recovery mode from HD blog. It's was working fine. So I tried to get the Galaxhero ROM installed. I did the following steps:
1) Reboot in recovery mode (Volume down + both Call buttons) and choose "Nandroid backup" to save a backup of your current ROM just in case.
2) Backup G apps
3) Then, choose "Wipe data/factory reset". The phone will reboot in recovery mode again.
4) Choose "Apply sdcard:update.zip" (second menu entry on the recovery screen)
5) Restore Google applications ("Restore G.Apps")
6) "Enable root (su)".
But then enable root failed! Anyway I went on further with reboot system. It rebooted till the "android HD logo" showed up and then suddenly the screen went off and it seemed like my phone went off. So I went back to the recovery mode and did the following steps:
Wipe data
Restore backup
Restore G apps
Enable root SU, but again enable su failed!!
Again I choose reboot system, and when the reboot came again to the "android HD logo". It stuck there and stayed looping.
First, why do I still see the android HD logo again because I did a wipe!
Second, How can I get my phone working again!

Aug 16, 2010I use MyBackup Pro and it can store its backups on an external SD card. I've searched but haven't been able to discover if Titanium has this same capability. If a phone needs to be replaced, what good is it to have the backup internally? I know I can copy the TitaniumBackup folder to my external SD card along with its files, but can it be done automagically as a program option during the backup?

Well I'm having the same problem with my new B2...The phone is disconnecting and connecting on its own consistantly. And it keeps sending me notifications. I've tried 3 different SD cards all with the same result. Eventually it will erase all card data and tell me the card is damaged. Anyone else with this problem? Should I go with the G1 or Mytouch?

Nov 11, 2010I know an SD card gives you extra memory for media files, but since the phone comes with 16GB is it really necessary? The basic iPhone 4 comes with 16GB and I don't think most users are clamoring for more.
Does it help the SGS speed if you leave most of the internal memory free (only using it for apps) and use the external card for all your files?
Or does it just provide an opportunity to go crazy with storing files, like an entire season of a TV show for instance?
All that being said... yes I did spring for an 8GB SD card but is it money well spent... who knows.

I put a 2GB SD card in my Captivate and want to set one of the songs on it as a ringtone. I would also like for the external SD to be the default location for pictures when I take them. Thirdly, I want to access the external SD card when I connect my phone to the PC via the USB cable, but for the life of me, these 3 issues I cant seem to resolve and they were cake on the HTC.

Sep 14, 2010Prior to installing the external card - the folders app showed /sd. Which I assumed was the internal one. Then I insert the external one, reboot the phone, and tehre is no additional directory in the folder view. Why is this? Secondly, its a 16GB card. Its reported as 14.58GB. The format option is greyed out. Is it automatically mounted at power on? Ideally I want to know where I install things to know that they are on the external card.

Nov 29, 2013I am using an external sd card on my Samsung GT-P3110 and using Android V 4.1.1. For some reason the various apps no longer see the folders and music files that are on the card.
I can still see the files when I attach the card to my PC using Win7 and I can add or delete without issues. Apps that are no longer seeing the files include n7player and ES File Explorer. This is only a recent development. For the first five months I did not have any problems with this.

Nov 18, 2013I have a Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, with a 64GB Micro SD card. I would like to play back videos I have stored on my SD card; however none of the videoplayers I've tried will do it - they all say the file cannot be played. The videos all play fine when stored locally, so I know there is no issue with the files themselves or the transfer process of getting them onto the SD card. Currently, if I want to watch a video, I have to use the My Files app to navigate to the file on the SD card and move it to the internal storage. This works, but its clunky and not very nice. Is this a bug feature of 4.2.2, or of my handset in general?
