I've successfully unrooted in order to return the phone for a replacement but I'm still seeing the superuser permissions app.
My method for unrooting was opening up terminal on my phone and using this code:

I am using unlocked version T-mobile Vibrant in INDIA.
You must be aware that apps like amazonmp3, kindle, slacker will be of NO USE here
I have already Rooted my device + having Root Explorer installed.
Can someone please help me to remove these apps from my phone.
Will I ever be able to upgrade to Android 2.2 (and newer) on my Vibrant (tmobile) (that has 2.1)?
View 12 Replies View Relatedi installed the ryanzas lag fix from the market a couple of days ago. yesterday i did a factory reset and reinstalled it to see if it was still applied so i can remove it. when i try to remove the extools thing it wont let me and when i try to undo lagfix it wont let me and when i try to reapply it it says there is one already applied. how do i completely get rid of it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI do not like touchwiz I simply would like to use the stock android 2.1 until 2.2 comes out does anyone know how disable this at all, plus I would like to use some apps in market which causes problems with this touchwiz 3.0. Applauncher pro runs buggy with touchwiz, and for some reason alot of the market apps are missing and does not allow me to download them like I am able to on my N1. Curse this Touchwiz 3.0 crap I want it gone please if anyone knows how I can remove or atleast disable it that would be great, I would like to run other launchers and cant seem to do this really with this Samsung crap launcher ruins everything. Seems like my N1 is just about able to download everything on market.. I shit you not like half the apps I have and like on my n1 are not able to work on my vibrant.. this is so lame and I am very upset about this their has to be a reason, My n1 still runs way faster and smooth with other launchers like app launcher pro compared to this crap touchwiz.

How do I get rid of a shortcut?
I rooted my phone, installed lagfix, and removed some bloatware from the phone via Titanium. The phone was stupid fast after doing this, almost everything loaded up instantly. However I started to notice some things weren't functioning properly. Apps on the marketplace would not download, I would try to download Launcher Pro and nothing would happen, nothing downloaded. Tried this with other apps, same thing. I rebooted the phone and noticed upon reboot that a force close/app error happened, not sure which app it was but it had google in it. I have no idea what app it could have been since I only removed apps if I knew what they were like Slacker, Kindle, Sims etc. Maybe removing the Sims caused the error?
I also noticed that emails wouldn't send (or would take a long time) even when I was on wifi. And the XDA app wouldn't work. I would go to make a post, click the text input box, but it wouldn't let me move the text cursor. I would press the keyboard and nothing happened.
I removed a crap ton of apps but they weren't anything major. I also removed the samsung widgets since I would never use those. Guess I should have asked on the forums before removing so much stuff.
Which apps are okay to remove? Any ideas on which app could have caused the market to mess up?
I was wondering what would be the easiest way to remove the MCR Scripts lagfix? I don't mind doing a hard reset but will that get my phone to the out-of-the-box shape?

I get 2 icons in the upper right hand corner -- red exclamation mark, and USB icon.
I have USB debugging turned ON.
I get the prompt to mount
I click on mount
and, nothing happens...

Here's the catch: the voicemail message has a registered phone number (the carrier's voicemail number). However, the carrier changed this number, so if I try to access the voicemail through the notification, the number doesn't exist anymore. Accessing the new number does not remove the notification.
Is there a way to change this?
Already tried clearing phone app data with no luck.
My Sprint HTC hero is rooted running Fresh 2.1.2 and whenever I open superuser or try to run an app that requires root I just get a black screen that says (Su Request) at the top and it just stays their and does nothing. Any takers on how to actually launch the program that requires root or what to do with this screen?

I downloaded the .zip file located in this thread. Every time I attempt to "reinstall packages" it won't work. Yes, I renamed it to update.zip, yes my phone is rooted. The error message simply says "Installation aborted" then "Unable to mount" upon a second attempt. I'm running the Axura ROM 2.0.5 using the Zeam launcher.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI seen to have a problem installing and updating pretty much all apps from the market. I am running anbranded and unrooted desire on 2.2. I have successfully downloaded nearly 50 apps from the market but recently it doesn't seem to install any apps including updates. I did find one that was ok (retro camera which I tried just to see) but it wont update sppedview, folder organizer lite or quick system info pro. It also doesn't seem to want to let me install quite a few other apps that I have tried (some alarm apps and some poker ones).

2. GPRS is functioning correctly while accessing the links from broweser but not able to open any application which is based on gmail account?
I turn it on, it says its on for like 10 seconds and at the bottom of the screen it says "unable to save networks" and then it says "unable to scan networks" and then it turns right back off
View 3 Replies View RelatedLong story: Went in, got my Vibrant, immediately downloaded a few apps to play/test the device in the store. I got handcent and barcode scanner. Went home, tried rooting phone, couldn't get into the recovery menu. Gave up on rooting for the moment and tried to download launcher pro, and immediately after it started the download it gave me a "download unsuccessful" error, regardless of whether I was connected via 3G or Wifi. I then tried downloading several other apps and got the same error. Afterwords, I tried clearing the market's cache, signing in/out of Google Talk, uninstalling the apps I had originally downloaded, rebooting the phone; nothing worked (and I was unable to reinstall the apps I had managed to install in the first place, due to the same error). I then attempted a factory reset and was unable to do that, given the error "No reset was performed because the System Clear service is unavailable." After going through tech support through everything I did, they asked me to do a hard reset of the phone, which I didn't realize used the same recovery menu as one must access to root the phone. Since I couldn't get into the recovery menu for whatever reason (I blamed my fingers at the time), I was told to go back to the store to swap my phone out for a new one. Did that, repeated the app downloading process but didn't connect it to anything other than a car charger, and the app store gave me the same error, and I'm again unable to perform a factory reset or a hard reset. I know it's not my fingers, though, because I was able to get into the recovery menu of a display phone at the store.I'm going back to the store tomorrow to swap my SIM out, since tech doesn't know what else to do with it, but I was wondering if you guys had any input.Short story: First symptom was all market downloads failed with error: Download unsuccessful. Second symptom was inability to perform a factory reset or a hard reset. Possible causes/solutions?EDIT: Problem seems to have been fixed by going to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > (menu) > Filter > All > Download Manager > Clear Data. Will update if anything fails afterwards.

Now I manually installed the official update, but have that pesky Superuser app that wont go away. I understand I need to re-root my device, but I am unsure of how to do that, and the tutorials don't really help. Also do you think they would let me return the phone with that one app on there?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems as if I am unable to remove my external sd card from my Galaxy S. After uninstalling it under "Settings" i try to pull it out/push it in so that it snaps out but it cannot be moved out of the cartridge. I can only push it further in for 1 mm or so.

I have the app "Superuser Permissions" BUT I don't see it in the Market as even existing. Also, I have been more seeing people mentioning "Superuser" app recently - like OMJ. Well, when you search "Superuser Permissions" in the Market they show the app "Superuser" and not "Superuser Permissions".. what's up with that? So, I tried to download "Superuser", but I get a Failed Installation app.
