View 2 RepliesWhenever I get a text message Handcent plays a song from my MP3's. Even though I have set it to use a simple notification. The song plays all the way through too, the only way I can silence it is to turn off my ringer volume. But then I have no ringer.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy definition/expectation of a 'notification' is a graphic/text message with the option to enable/disable a sound to alert me that the notification came in per app.
I want to:
1- enable/disable graphic/text per app
2- enable/disable sound per app
For #1, it looks like I have to go Setting>App Manager>All>Uncheck 'show notifications'. But, apparently that will disable everything...ie, no graphic/text or sound. I've tried lock screen and notification apps without luck so far......
I have an mp3 that I want to use as my notification and text message sound. It was on my computer. I have emailed it to myself and I am able to download it to my droid eris.
On my Eris, it appears in my music section. How do I set it as my notification sound? It is not appearing in the "sound" list for notifications.
I have a sound clip that I want to use as my sms alert. I have placed it on the sd card under Audio/Notifications and I can play the sound file OK but when i go to the settings of the sms app (Handcent SMS) and choose Notification Setting and then Select Ringtone, it does not display the sound file. I have stored on the card, just the built-in ones, How do I make the app use the stored sound file.

View 33 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of a way to have the Droid make an alert sound of your choice when the battery is fully charged? It would be awesome to hear when the battery is charged rather than have to keep checking visually at various intervals. I can't keep my hands off of the phone so I can get a little impatient during the charging process sometimes, I'd love to be able to "set it and forget it" until I hear the alert. If there isn't a way to do this, someone should figure out a way to make it so.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking for the default sound files from the Incredible. Specifically, I am looking to the "doot" sound when you press the volume slider. Does anyone have this sound file? It is not located with the alarms, notification, or ringtones. Also, as an added bonus, I am looking for the notification sound from SportsTap as well.
View 1 Replies View Related1. No sound notification. When I am texting someone back and forth, I have to back out of the thread or I do not get notified that they have responded. If I leave it open, I sit there forever thinking the person didn't respond only to wake up my phone and see that they actually did.... 10 minutes ago. Anyone else have this issue?
2. When I turn my phone on in the morning, I never get notified of new email. I have to open my mail and click refresh. I have tried letting it go thinking it would notify me at the update interval I have set, and that never happened. I went almost 2 hours until I had a new email notification, and that was because I sent something to myself to test it.
Every time I receive a Facebook notification on my Incredible, what I can only describe as a slow song plays for a few seconds. I have no recollection of setting a mp3 for the notification sound and even if I did, the song is played so slowly that it is distorted. Does anyone else have this issue? Can't I just have the default notification sound play when I have a Facebook update? Sorry if I missed a thread somewhere, but I have been searching for quite a while and I am fearful that I am the only one with this problem.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have two questions being a relatively new Incredible owner (2.5 weeks). I wanted to know the best way to assign my own mp3/wav as a Notification sound. I know how to do it for the ringtones, but I don't see a way to add new notifications.
The other question is if there is a way to assign a different notification sound to emails and texts independently, i.e. a different sound for email than for texts.
I cannot change the voicemail notification sound. I go to messages ->settings scroll down to voicemail notification setting and then change the notification sound. But for some reason when I get a voicemail it plays a sound that I selected as notification sound in Sound & Display setting. The same sound that is used for email notification.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI unlock my phone, I get a default notification sound. Sometimes, just randomly while messing with an app, I get the mystery notification sound. No emails, no texts, no notification bar items just <insert mystery notification sound here> somewhat randomly. It's not any app i recently downloaded either (=, I'm a bit more savy then that just want to see if someone else noticed this with the 2.2 OTA Leak.It doesn't do it while the screen is off

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a soundboard where you can long press one of the sounds and then set it as a notification or a ringtone. I did it and picked notification, but it doesn't seem to take effect.
Is there something I need to do phone wise in the settings to tell it to listen to that sound board?
When I stay in a hotel I like to set my phone to turn off all notifications except the ringer for incoming calls. Is there a quick, easy way to do this? My blackberry Storm had this as an easy to access option.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI keep running into a weird scenario with my Incredible (non-rooted, Android 2.1) where the notification sound changes to one of the other files on my SD card. I can't seem to make the notification sound stick. For example: this morning, I unmounted the SD card after syncing with Doubletwist on my PC and got into my car. When I turned on the car, the phone connected via Bluetooth to the stereo. Upon connection, the phone made a notification sound, but that sound had been changed from the default notification sound to one of my MP3s.

View 21 Replies View RelatedSince the update to 2.2 and a factory wipe...I no longer get my incoming text message alert (sound) while I have the messages open. I open text, read, respond, then might set the phone down and have no alert that I've received another message. Used to be fine pre-2.2/wipe.
Using the stock messaging app.
When I turned my phone on this morning, I had to do some update (I'm guessing this is the 2.2?)
Well now, I'm not getting any sound when I have an incoming text. I'll get it maybe once in a GREAT while.
I turned my ringer volume all the way down (one level above vibrate), but now when i receive new text/call/etc. I don't get a blinking notification. Anyone know how to fix this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have label (or even sender) specific notification new e-mail sounds? I have several filters set up on my gmail account to automatically label and star emails from certain senders. Is there a way to have items labeled "Work" chirp with a different notification sound than other emails?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt only happens when I'm in the text thread of the person sending me a text...thats when I get no notification sound. If I'm not in their thread, and they send me a text, then I'll get it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe scenario: My phone is sleeping. I get a text message. I have Handcent. I open the notification but the sound continues going off. I can't figure out how to interupt it. I have tried the volume keys, they don't work. I have tried the power/sleep key, it doesn't work. I have also tried swiping down the notification bar and opening the message from there but it still doesn't silence the sound.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got the HTC Incredible and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to set incoming phone calls to vibrate, yet play the notification sound. None of the profiles seems to make that combination happen. If I switch it to silent, no sound or vibrations happen for calls or notifications. In the vibrate profile, both calls and notifications only vibrate. In normal mode, I can't get calls to vibrate only. If I slide the call ringer volume all the way down and slide notification volume up, it switches it to silent mode. If I have call ringer volume up one notch from silent, it still plays the ringtone. Is this something I can accomplish or do I have to have silent calls only if I still want notifications played?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a couple mp3 iwould like to use as notification sounds but as you may know they have to be in the correct folder to show up. my problem is my usb cable for the phone is broken and can only be used to charge the phone and not a usb data connection. so i need to somehow move the mp3 to the folder using only the phone.
