Oct 29, 2010My gmail account keeps failing to login in sync application. So i can't access android market or gps with having the gmail failed. What do i do now?

Samsung Vibrant :: Phone Goes Into Recovery Mode Then Fails
Oct 9, 2010I have a Vibrant. The issue all started when I tried to install the 1.2ghz OC rom onto my phone. I had rommanager installed, and attempted to run it off the SD card, but when my phone booted up it had lost my applications, everything.
The problem I'm running into now is that the phone seems to be unable to use its mass storage. Every time I attempt to reinstall an application from the market it says it doesn't have enough memory. Under settings it says "unavailable" for the internal mass storage.
I tried using the volume buttons and power button to enter recovery/dl mode but every time I do I cannot make selections. If I use the power button to try to select it does nothing. In fact the "up" volume button makes it go down, and the other "down" button also doesn't do anything.
Since I have no applications I can't use clockwork recovery, even though I know I have one. Also, Odin is unable to connect to the phone, so I can't reload factory. Kies also doesn't recognize the phone.
It also won't even recognize the SIM card, says it has no reception when it clearly does.
General :: Android Fails To Load WiFi Access Login Page
Aug 20, 2010When I try to connect to my University's network , the my Galaxy S is able to connect JUST fine. However, when I open a browser it says the incoming certificate is not secure and then I have NO INTERNET on any page. It tries to redirect me to the login page for the network but fails to do so with a "communications error" and subsequent no internet access of any sort.
What the network is supposed to do is redirect me to the login page so that I can register the device to the network and login using my university account. My phone can't do that apparently and just sits connected to the network with NO INTERNET connectivity.
This is the university network and the instructions how to get on it for Android devices: [URL] .... I connect to it just fine but am UNABLE to get to that device registration/login page.
This is NOT just for my university. ANY public network which requires me to accept an "agreement" before it lets me have internet access, my phone KILLS ITSELF and CANNOT pull up the agreement page but instead tells me there is no internet. I'm SURE its a software problem or something with settings but can't figure out just what it is.
Just about the only networks I can connect to on Wi-Fi are home networks.

Samsung Vibrant :: Syncing Gmail Contact Groups
Aug 21, 2010I have all of my contacts saved to the phone, deleted all contacts saved on SIM. I now saved everything to google contacts, and even after saving some in various groups, I cannot get the groups to sync over to the vibrant. All of the contacts synced perfectly, but not the groups. I even tried making new groups using different names than the generic google group names. If I display contacts from both the phones memory and google contacts, then it will show me the groups I've selected.

Sep 25, 2010So my primary computer crashed and I had to reinstall all my programs and restore files from a backup. I had been syncing my Outlook calendar with my Gmail account using Google Calendar Sync which would then sync with my Captivate. When I reinstalled Outlook and synced with Gmail, it created duplicates of all my appointments. The only way to fix this was to delete all my appointments in Gmail and resync. Unfortunately, it didn't remove the duplicates from my phone. In fact, I have triplicates of many appointments. I thought I could just remove the Gmail account from my phone and add it back. Nope, my phone says that it's required by some programs and can only be removed through a factory reset. I thought that maybe I had to have a Gmail account on the phone for it to work so I added another one. I then attempted to delete the original. Nope, still wouldn't let me. Since that wasn't the problem I tried to delete the newly added account. Nope, no can do. So am I understanding correctly that there is no way to remove an account once it's been added without doing a factory reset?

1.)I have a gmail account already on the phone and linked up.. but the email to it is somewhat complicated so i created another account via gmail.com (on the computer) and im having trouble having the phone connecting to the server and hosting the account.i think this might be a temporary google issue.
2.)I just got into a group at school that requires me to have a calendar.so i tried to creating all of my dates and times on my phone and then syncing it but apparently i had "My Calendar" checked so it won't go do i have to start over? and will it work this time?
3.)I just now decided that i also want to sync my contacts to my gmail account, but i already have 150+ contacts in my phone.I understand that you have to select save to "google" as opposed to "phone" when saving a new contact my question is... do i have to manually go through all 150+ contacts and change this? or is there another way to sync them?

When I press the sync button on the phone, the green arrows spin and it syncs.......or so it says. But when I go to my gmail account on my PC, and go to "Contacts", it says there aren't any.

Jul 19, 2010I've been getting annoyed at being unable to assign my ringtones to my gmail synced contacts. Something that was a non issue on my old faithful G1.Samsung, it seems, has seen fit to screw with the contact management making it necessary to have a contact in the phone memory proper to assign a custom ringtone.I have found a simple solution. Download Ringo Lite from the market place. It will allow you to assign ringtones to any contact on the phone in a really simple manner and the app is free. It has other features like assigning rings to sms messages and stuff but I don't care about that or need that. But for setting ringtones it works just dandy.

Sep 14, 2010'Sync' is switched on on my phone so I don't know why I need to manually upload my phone contacts from my SD card then attach them & email them to my google account.I just tried to attach phone contacts from SD card to a Gmail to send to my gmail account then log into my PC & import that file into my gmail account from there, but it will only let me attach photos So I tried emailing as an attachment from phone using my yahoo account.That does allow me to attach contacts but it sits there without actually attaching them !I just found I need to tick all contacts to get to attach. So I have to check 200 ticks as there's no check all option !So one by one I tick all & gets sent as 200 attachments in an email.So then download to PC hard drive.Then in Gmail import contacts I have to browse for vCard files. However I can't select all so have to manually browse for each vCard file then import one at a time.There's no option in contacts to select a contact then 'Star in android'.I presume if somethings starred in Android then the sync between phone contacts & gmail should work properly. Jun 9, 2010My parents just recently bought their first smartphones. They both have Samsung Moments now and think the phone looks promising, but they've already ran into their first quirk. I searched for a good halfhour to see if I could find an answer to their problem but I couldn't find anything. So without further adieu.their problem. They had older phones that used simcards. The sprint store loaded all of their contacts onto the moment and all was peachy. As soon as they went onto the market they had to establish a GMail account to be able to use the market. Once the GMail account was established all of their contacts were wiped. We can't find them anywhere. If anyone has had this problem or would possibly know how to locate the contacts it would be greatly appreciated if you could post the steps to do such a thing. Also if there is anyway to put a simcard onto a computer and transfer it to a phone they still have their cards and I could try to do that.

"Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine.....
