Just brought a I9000 yesterday and have already forgotten my pattern code and never set up a gmail account, tried all the hard reset keys but doesn't work. Has anyone figured it out how to hard reset it properly or update the firmware without kies? As kies doesn't detect my phone.

I have the new EVO. Unfortunately one of my friends entered my pattern wrong too many times so it locked and is now asking for my gmail account. Problem is I forgot my gmail account...I know I can take it and get it reflashed and lose all data but I'm really not into that. tricks to get my email or just bypass the lock?

Basically I forgot my pattern unlock and I tried it 5 times and I had to unlock it with my google account. I've tried 2 google accounts and they wont sign in and they work on my laptop! Its been locked all day and its not unlocking!

Sure I usually use the same basic email address that are about the same if not exactly the same but.. I lost my original phone never sent an email and I cant remember what it was now to put it in my new replacement phone so I can get all my contacts back. I never put in an alternate email so I cant send it that way and I tired everything I can think of. I also called verizon to see if they might have it on file and they said no. Anyway that I can get this withouth knowing the username, having a 2nd email, trying password retrieve and putting in all my usual emails?
View 4 Replies View Related'Sync' is switched on on my phone so I don't know why I need to manually upload my phone contacts from my SD card then attach them & email them to my google account.I just tried to attach phone contacts from SD card to a Gmail to send to my gmail account then log into my PC & import that file into my gmail account from there, but it will only let me attach photos So I tried emailing as an attachment from phone using my yahoo account.That does allow me to attach contacts but it sits there without actually attaching them !I just found I need to tick all contacts to get to attach. So I have to check 200 ticks as there's no check all option !So one by one I tick all & gets sent as 200 attachments in an email.So then download to PC hard drive.Then in Gmail import contacts I have to browse for vCard files. However I can't select all so have to manually browse for each vCard file then import one at a time.There's no option in contacts to select a contact then 'Star in android'.I presume if somethings starred in Android then the sync between phone contacts & gmail should work properly. Even then if you add new contact to phone there's no option in the phone to star it. Code...

I can receive and send emails without problems, but I can't find a feature to automatically bcc messages back to myself. I do this so that I can synchronize Sent messages with my PC. Is this feature missing in Android V4.1 or am I just not seeing it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed cyanogenmod with CWM recovery (on a Nexus 7) and decided to try one of the largest grids for the lock screen security. Needless to say it was soon forgotten. I've tried the gmail reset but it says the details are incorrect even though I can sign in with them on my PC. My guess is that it can't connect to gmail for authentication due to the firewall I'm using.

This was pointed out earlier by someone on a thread and I couldn't seem to find it. But just to point it out again the moment can be turned off or put on airplane mode even while its locked. This may be a bad thing if someone steals your phone and you want to use someones phone to either call or text it so that it will ring to find out who has it. All the thief has to do is put it on airplane mode or turn it off to deactivate ringers, sound, and gps.
Is there an app or option where I can use a passcode to unlock the phone rather than the pattern?And is there a way to track my phone through gps just in case it's lost or stolen?Any ideas or suggestions if a device someone rely relies on a lot is lost or stolen? My friend on his moment was able to add a message on the home screen saying "If found please contact "phone number" "email" and will be given a "$300" reward.
My friend's phone got stuck in a bootloop the other day and the only way to recover it was to do a hard reset. The trouble being he has no idea what his Google account details are. He knows neither his email address or his password. He's never sent an email from his Gmail and never set up an emergency email account for recovery purposes. I've scoured the Internet for a solution but if all you have is your phone number, there doesn't seem to be any way to reinstate your account. His phone isn't rooted as he's not that kind of user. I currently have my display set to time out after one minute. When I'm using the music player is there anyway to prevent the screen from locking. I have having to unlock it to switch tracks.
As a side, is there a way to change the locking system from a sliding pattern to a number code?
When i 1st got my x10 i registred my phone with the google account on the menu, well i've forgot my e-mail address with google. Anyway my phone was in my pocket and has locked up asking me to enter my google account details but like i say i forgot the details, didnt think i needed to remember them as i was always signed into the account on my phone, so does anybody know how i can get this sorted.

I hope I am one of many frustrated & forlorn parents who have great kids that are obviously a rung or 3 up the evolutionary ladder! Perhaps we should start a support group! LMAO I am new to android & so far I love it, so much that you can do on this platform & as i am a lateral thinker it is so much fun being able to get apps that seem to allow my though processes & not miss a beat, what a delight. NOt too impressed with the pattern lock at the moment though but I am hopeful of finding a solution there or admiring my Very expensive paper weight that might have been so much fun!! I am currently very tentative about all the programming stuff but I guess in time & with help from all the learned folk out there I will be able to have the best & most productive tool completely customized for me that I could imagine. It starts to downloads email, contacts and calender entries but then starts to freeze or pop-up screens appears saying that there is no contact with TwLauncher - it doesn't matter if I choose "wait" or "force close". Even if I delete the exchange account the phone keeps freezing and I have to do a phone reset (with all the setting up and downloading of apps to follow). I have tried to set up the account on a clean phone with NO other apps installed same problem. What do I do? Our server is Exchange 2003. It works fine with my colleagues Nokia and HTC phones.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI unfortunately didn't write down my PIN and apparently have forgotten it on my Nexus 7. I did not get the "Forgot PIN?" prompt, or did not notice it the at the 5th or 10th attempt point. It just says to wait 30 seconds.
Is there any way in my Google account to reset the PIN or remove it? It seems if Google lets you do it from the device through your Google account, you should be able to do it from your Google account.
So my primary computer crashed and I had to reinstall all my programs and restore files from a backup. I had been syncing my Outlook calendar with my Gmail account using Google Calendar Sync which would then sync with my Captivate. When I reinstalled Outlook and synced with Gmail, it created duplicates of all my appointments. The only way to fix this was to delete all my appointments in Gmail and resync. Unfortunately, it didn't remove the duplicates from my phone. In fact, I have triplicates of many appointments. I thought I could just remove the Gmail account from my phone and add it back. Nope, my phone says that it's required by some programs and can only be removed through a factory reset. I thought that maybe I had to have a Gmail account on the phone for it to work so I added another one. I then attempted to delete the original. Nope, still wouldn't let me. Since that wasn't the problem I tried to delete the newly added account. Nope, no can do. So am I understanding correctly that there is no way to remove an account once it's been added without doing a factory reset?

1.)I have a gmail account already on the phone and linked up.. but the email to it is somewhat complicated so i created another account via gmail.com (on the computer) and im having trouble having the phone connecting to the server and hosting the account.i think this might be a temporary google issue.
2.)I just got into a group at school that requires me to have a calendar.so i tried to creating all of my dates and times on my phone and then syncing it but apparently i had "My Calendar" checked so it won't go do i have to start over? and will it work this time?
3.)I just now decided that i also want to sync my contacts to my gmail account, but i already have 150+ contacts in my phone.I understand that you have to select save to "google" as opposed to "phone" when saving a new contact my question is... do i have to manually go through all 150+ contacts and change this? or is there another way to sync them?
I have sync turned on, and have selected contacts and phone. I can access the gmail account from my phone and my PC. When I press the sync button on the phone, the green arrows spin and it syncs.......or so it says. But when I go to my gmail account on my PC, and go to "Contacts", it says there aren't any.
