Motorola Droid X :: Unread Email For Corp Sync
Jul 26, 2010I switched from my Itouch to the Droid X but an having issues with the email icon not displaying the unread email count. I can open Messaging and see the Corp Icon and it shows the number of unread emails. Can I add an Icon for my Corporate Sync account to the desktop so that I know that I have unread emails?

Motorola Droid X : Android 2.2 Seperate Calendars (Corp + Gmail)?
Sep 22, 2010Long-time lurker here making my first post. I tried doing a search but wasn't able to find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I downloaded Android 2.2 this morning. Note: I did not attempt to sync my
"corporate" microsoft exchange calendar before today so I have no knowledge of how this may have worked on Android 2.1. I believe I read somewhere that 2.1 allowed for separate or multiple calendars.
I just set up my "Corporate Sync" account today on my stock Droid X and it merged all of my work's Calendar events (via exchange) with my Personal Gmail Calendar events into one calendar.
I'd prefer to keep these things calendars separate as it's hard enough to not think about work when I'm not at home!
I have 2 Questions:
(1) Does anyone know if there is a way to have two separate calendars (i.e. one for work, and one personal)?
(2) If I add an event to my Google Calendar will it sync to my Corporate Calendar? I'm assuming No since I don't think it does it in the opposite manner (e.g. Corporate calendar doesn't sync to Google Calendar).
Jorte also merged all my Work events and Personal events together despite the settings only stating that it will only sync my Google Calendar. So I can't use Jorte and Google to view Personal and Work calendars that way.

May 19, 2010I am looking for an app that combines my work email and gmail email into one widget or app. I thought that Pure Messenger would do that but I can't get it to add my work email to it. Any suggestions or apps?

Oct 18, 2010I had BB Storm and simply added my exchange server email by just entering my username and password.I am trying on SF and keep getting an error even after entering domain, server, etc.Does this only work on Android phones with Corp email data added? And if so, I've read many problems with getting emails via exchange. Don't want to spend $15/month, but at least want it to work if i do.Are there any 3rd party programs that will run exchange emails?

Dec 6, 2009Is there anyway to get the agenda views on the Google and corp calendar to NOT show any events in the past? I don't see a way to do this. The calendars seem to show the current day at the top when you go to the agenda view, so it's not a horrid show topper, but it's still annoying. I don't want to accidentally be looking at wrong days in the past and not know it.

Oct 20, 2010My work is in the final steps of moving to new servers, rolling out new email addresses, etc. As a result, I had to remove my old Corp Sync account and set up another with the new info. Easy enough. Well, my Outlook contacts were not syncing to my phone any longer. The IT folks had me delete my account and create it again. Upon doing so, a duplicate Corp Sync account was created however when I click on it, there are only fields for username and password. The username is gray'd out and no password will be accepted as it tells me the username cannot be blank. So I can not delete this account. I don't want it there under my list of accounts.Has anyone encountered this and found a way to remove it?

Feb 18, 2010This has only happened a few times (when i say a few times i really mean that... I put my phone in the car dock basically anytime im in the car) but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had an issue with their Droid powering down or power cycling when they simply remove if from the dock. If this is an issue with my droid only then I need to get a replacement but if not, I'll just handle it and figure its a known issue thats being looked at.

Jun 30, 2010I want to see a thread for my own sake and others on what apps people have removed and what is safe.In order to remove an app use these directions.Footprints: (I had to do a Nandroid backup after removing this becauuse maps would not load in navigation) some online have reported the same problem while others here said it worked for them) JUST BE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP FIRST.Another app to watch for is Friendstream as people have reported problems with constant sync issues.(Also just a question when removing apps do you need to run the same command line ending with .odex?)

Aug 25, 2010Potentially related to the Music Player exiting when I try to go "Home" or start up other apps. Anyway, let's say I'm using my headphones to talk to someone on the phone. The call ends and I take my headphones off and unplug them from the phone. Well, a podcast will begin playing in the Music Player!!! It may not even be the last one I was listening to.
Is there ever an update to this player? It's not very good and seems uncontrollable at times. Any substitutes that can be set as default players? I want to like this phone but there are SO MANY annoying glitches and non-obvious (to me, anyway) solutions that I'm definitely second-guessing my purchase.

Nov 2, 2010I have searched and haven't been able to find any threads with one of my issues, so I apologize in advance if I missed one. Anyways, my DX has been working flawlessly since I got it back on 10/6. Sunday, 10/31, my DX quit syncing just my corporate Exchange 2003 emails, then yesterday it started not sending emails as well and now, this morning, it quit syncing my personal email. Corporate email will sync manually, just not push. I have rebooted several times, pulled the battery several times, and also deleted both my Exchange account and my personal account and re-added both and the problem still persists. I don't have any task killer apps installed and haven't recently added any apps since the issues started. Anyone have an idea what may be causing the lack of push (in and out) on both of my accounts?

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

Jan 26, 2010I just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

Sep 3, 2010I'm starting to get junk mail sent directly to my phone through my hotmail email account. I have added both the sender and the senders domain to the list using Windows Live Mail Beta. These emails are still getting through to my Droid X. First, there are no option on the phone to block emails is there? And secondly, there is not an option to add emails to any junk folder on the phone either that I have found. Anyone else having this problem? I've tried both adding my email accounts through Corporate (for hotmail/msn) and the email option on the phone.

Feb 16, 2010Over the past week or 2, several times now, I'll get a series of email notifications (sometimes as many as 10 or so, a few seconds apart), but then there won't be any messages. I'll check later, but still nothing.
I have a POP, gmail and an exchange account.
I'll also sometimes have POP email keep coming back, sometimes 5+ times, after deleting it every time. It may be 30 minutes later, or hours later.

Nov 16, 2009I know the "cool kid in school" thing to do is make fun of the iPhone market for having 1,000's of 'Fart apps'
But let's be honest at the end of the day it's really not true, and now coming from being a previous iPhone owner and now a Droid owner i can honestly say, the iPhone app market wins by a TON.
This is just a general QUALITY of apps comparison as well.
NO i'm not switching back... but man do i miss the iPhone apps...
Especially facebook.. and others..
You can REALLY tell the difference between the quality of iPhone apps vs Android,
So why am i starting this thread?.. Well i'm hoping maybe a developer could chime in and enlighten us on why this is...
Things i'm curious about-
Is programming in android worse then in the iPhone OS? is that why apps are WAY less in quality?
And you can't give the excuse that it's because things are new, when the iPhone market came out the apps were quality at day 1, many of them were.
So what's the difference? i guess software...
Well i'm sticking with android even though this exists.. in hopes that maybe future Android OS updates and SDK's will improve this very obvious difference.. right now i'm not impressed at all... the apps are all Slow, and they look horrible.
And for twitter? holy crap... iPhone owners back me up here, but the iPhone twitter apps are lightyears ahead of android twitter apps.
Just take a look at Tweetdeck for iPhone, and compare to to what i guess is the best android twitter app, twidroid?
Compare those and you'll see what i'm talking about.
General :: Droid 4 - Mail Apps / Restore All Email Messages Viewable Into Inbox
Apr 1, 2012I am relatively new to Android. Just got a Droid 4. As part of the setup, I added my gmail accounts. On the regular web interface, I have about 20 labels (folder) to archive the old messages. Then, I also had about 80 messages left in the inbox. Five days later, all of a sudden, I only have 1 message (a chat converted info a message 2 months ago) left in the inbox. Everything else in the inbox is gone. If I use the gmail app on the phone, that's what I see as well.
However, if I use the "mail" app on the phone, I am still seeing all the messages originally in the inbox. And the inbox is associated with my gmail account.
Now, comes the question: how can I restore all the email messages viewable by the "mail" app back into the inbox viewable by the "gmail" app, which is also the inbox in the web interface on my computer?
