Was wondering if anyone else noticed that under settings/aboutphone/systemupdates there now is a update android button. Don't know if it's cause I modified to the ze08.3 kernel, anyone else have this ?

This just happened all of sudden today, before when I surf online with moment,
No matter how paragraph�s length is, it will always auto fit to the screen to read, even I zoom in, it will still fit perfectly to the screen, so no need to use finger to keep moving left and right to read the whole article
But today, all of sudden, it doesn�t do that any more, do you guys have the same problem? And do you know how to fix this? I read a lot on my phone and it was so cool it did that auto fit thing, even iphone doesn�t do that but I have tried restarted the phone, all the settings but can�t find anything.
How do i set a ring tone for my text messages and what app do you download ringtones and they will show up in you phone ringtones?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI went in on Friday morning to the Sprint store and got the update for my Moment. I must say it fixed my key complaints. When I got back to my office (where I never got GPS reading before) it showed me on Google maps right where I was -Yeah! The lag in keystroke to letters appearing appears to be almost entirely gone. And Battery Life is really improved - to a crazy point (in a good way). I pulled it off the charger this morning, checked some scores today and then pretty much spent all evening downloading apps / playing games, etc and I was shocked when I got done - Still had about 70% battery life. Good job Sprint. I would have liked to have had this w/o going into the store, but it only took about 15 minutes and I have store close by, so no biggie.

Every now and then, maybe once every other day?, when I press Home, it asks me which home screen app to use. I always click on the one I want (dxTop) and check the box that says use as default. It remembers it for a while, but it'll forget again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOK. I asked this a different way but I'd like to get some more input. The loudness on the phone is definitely lower after the 2.1 update. To the point that the speakerphone can't be used in the car while under 1.5 it could be used (it was very loud). A lot of discussion on this topic and the only fix given is using a leaked program that is copyrighted. Is there a way to change the phone settings for loudness without using this program? It is almost like they applied that EU loudness mandate. Makes the speakerphone useless now for me.

I was trying to update to 2.1 using the Sprint update tool and it froze. I tried again and my phone is able to go into download mode, but it isn't recognized by the update tool. I also cannot boot my phone normally.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from a Treo to the Moment. Generally quite pleased, but the Moxier email client doesn't seem to be displaying html links at all.
Exchange mail on the Treo still shows links, so unlike some of the other posts, the problem is not with the corporate exchange server stripping out html.
Is there a setting in Moxier to enable links within email messages?
Th manual says that the red button can be used to "turn the device on or off, end a call, or turn off the LCD". Maybe I'm just missing something, but I don't see any options for tuning off the LCD! I really hate sticking my phone in my pocket with the home screen active. You never know who your going to call.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and installed the Lock 2.0 free trial program. Upon install, when I clicked on the "Home" button on my Samsung Moment, a pop appeared with 3 choices:
Complete Action Using:
1) Home (go to home)
2) Lock icon (meaning to lock the phone) - also with a warning - do not use this as default - you had (sic) been warned.
3) a checkbox to use either choice 1 or 2 as the default always.
This made me curious. First of all if I accidentally remapped the Home button the Lock app, how would I be able to remap it to the default "Home" action? Looked in settings and do not see how I can remap Home button. I don't like how a 3rd part app can intercept the Home button and yet I can't figure out how to undo the damage if I accidentally remapped the Home button to the 3rd party app. Anyone here know if this is possible to restore the Home button if you mess up and a 3rd party app maps it by default?
I noticed while trying to put my phone into download mode that my camera button appears to be remapped or buggered in some way. The phone would simply never go into download mode (vol down/camera/end) and would, instead, just boot up like normal. I thought that the battery was too low or something of that sort, so I let the phone boot up and just tried to use each button to see how they would go. Volume down and end worked fine, but when I push camera, instead of actually taking a picture, the camera button seems to:
1) Adjust the volume up and down
2) Go to my contacts list
3) Dial the contact at the top of the list
While I'm sure I could talk to my local Mazda dealer about _something_, I can actually call them on my own just fine without the help of my camera button. But, what's worse is that I'm sure the camera button's remapping (or whatever) is what's causing me difficulties getting this thing into download mode.
Screen won't turn off when I press the red/end call button after checking the time or wanting to go dark while listening to Pandora. I do not have ATK or similar I do not have Panda Home or similar.

Im wondering if I'm the only one or am is it just my phone? I've noticed that this phone can be a bit buggy at times! Note: I have not had the update done on this phone. The only big recent app that I've installed is handcent.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI don't have ChompSMS, never have, I do however have Handcent SMS downloaded but this isn't the app that opens when I press the camera button. It's the default messaging application. There is no setting for "shortcuts" or whatever has been created with my camera button.

Ive had my moment for approx. 9 months now and I have taken very good care of it, never dropped it and ive had a case and screen protector on it the whole time and now i am losing my touchscreen. on the top right of the screen when you touch it it either doesnt do anything or it will think that i touched something on the left upper side. so you all know where im talking about when you pull down the notifications bar and you hit the clear button it doesnt work at all. is this phone just done or can it be fixed? anybody else have this problem? I just don't understand i took so good care of this phone!

This button's placement is absolutely perfect for accidentally pushing it with your thumb or fingers when you're on a call, or when holding the phone in either portrait or landscape mode. I dont use voice control. Even if I did, I'd want it to turn on when I decided to use it. I've searched the Phone Settings; I've searched these forums; I've searched the Android Marketplace. View 6 Replies View RelatedOkay so all of a sudden yesterday the lock button on my Samsung Moment kind of stopped working. When you press the hang up button on the phone, its supposed to lock. If you hold the hang up button it brings up a menu for power off, sounds off and airplane mode.
For some reason when I press the hang up button to lock the phone, it doesnt work but when I press and hold the hang up button, the menu thats supposed to pop up does.
If the button semi works I cant see it being a problem with the button. My friend says its a software glitch but it worked fine for months and then all of a sudden yesterday morning it stopped working. I HAVE NOT updated the phone or anything recently.
When I'm talking, my hair tends to press the mute button on the home screen and the other person cannot hear me. I've searched but can't find a way to make this stop. An app, a better phone-holding technique--I'll try just about anything. Also, for some reason I had a glitch the other day... I made a phone call, got my friend's voicemail, and then was unable to hang up the call. I ended up leaving a rather long, embarrassing voicemail message until I just went in and force stopped the dialer app, but at least my friend has a good sense of humor.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOver the past two days I've had a recurring problem with my Moment - the screen no longer shuts off when I press the Off or End Call button. This is a pain because buttons end up being pressed when I slip the phone in to my pocket. I'm running the official 2.1 update and have been since the week after it came out, and I haven't had this problem before. I can't seem to figure it out. The button still works to turn the screen on, and will still turn of the screen if it's at the lock screen, but at the home screen or in an app, nothing happens when pressing the button. This was a little awkward today when the body heat through my shorts opened up my Alarm Clock app and started playing the various alarm clock ringtones!
