Screen won't turn off when I press the red/end call button after checking the time or wanting to go dark while listening to Pandora. I do not have ATK or similar I do not have Panda Home or similar.

Okay so all of a sudden yesterday the lock button on my Samsung Moment kind of stopped working. When you press the hang up button on the phone, its supposed to lock. If you hold the hang up button it brings up a menu for power off, sounds off and airplane mode.
For some reason when I press the hang up button to lock the phone, it doesnt work but when I press and hold the hang up button, the menu thats supposed to pop up does.
If the button semi works I cant see it being a problem with the button. My friend says its a software glitch but it worked fine for months and then all of a sudden yesterday morning it stopped working. I HAVE NOT updated the phone or anything recently.
Over the past two days I've had a recurring problem with my Moment - the screen no longer shuts off when I press the Off or End Call button. This is a pain because buttons end up being pressed when I slip the phone in to my pocket. I'm running the official 2.1 update and have been since the week after it came out, and I haven't had this problem before. I can't seem to figure it out. The button still works to turn the screen on, and will still turn of the screen if it's at the lock screen, but at the home screen or in an app, nothing happens when pressing the button. This was a little awkward today when the body heat through my shorts opened up my Alarm Clock app and started playing the various alarm clock ringtones!

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got the 2.1 update for my Moment. Have a problem. I leave my phone on at night on the charger. I get up way earlier then my wife. Now after the update - my text notification ringer goes off when I plug in and unplug the charger. I tried turning off the "Notification Ringtone" - and that worked to kill the charger plug/unplug sound - but it also turned off the ring when I get an incoming text. That just will not work - turning that on and off all the time. Is there a way to just disable the sound when the charger is plugged/unplugged?

The screen will go dark as if to boot up but just ends up going back to the Samsung glowing letters. This phone is a mess! Why would they release something so unstable?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wife has the Moment and uses a Jabra BT250v.
She has only had two major issues with the phone ever.
Other than the usual bluetooth just not connecting and needing repair every once in a while, her biggest issue has been when she turns on the headset, the phone automatically dials the last person she called. She has to catch it and stop the dialing.
Do all headsets do this? I did not see anyone else posting this problem.
Anyone have a rec for a good one for the Moment? Perhaps a Jabra or Blue Ant?
(Her second problem is sometimes her face activates the mute while on a call)
Other than that, she loves the phone and I am very impressed with it myself.
Recently I downloaded, Pandora Radio, a local movies widget, a bible, task killer, and My Coupons. At that point, my moment started giving a low memory message, it began rejecting messages and voice mail. Basic phone and message functions turned off, and it told you so, all because of low memory, the blue tooth wouldnt function. At what point, is this low memory function triggered and override the functions of the phone. How long will it be before we can just store our applications to the memory card

When I got to Settings->Accessibility, it is grayed out and it says "Downloaded accessibility application is required to activate". View 3 Replies View RelatedSo i was busy installing apps and moving them around my screen when i accidentally hit the auto-brightness toggle on one of my newly installed widgets, i went to hit it a few more times to restore my previous brightness, but my screen totally turned off. The phone is still on, if someone calls me i can hear the ring tone perfectly.
I've done some Googl'ing looking for answers but i havn't found anything useful, I have already ordered a replacement fascinate under warranty, but it would be nice to find a solution to save myself 20 bucks on a zagg invisi shield..are there any know solutions or ways to factory reset without using the screen?
The Samsung logo and Galaxy S boot-up are visible, but when it normally shows the unlock screen its completely black
i was listening to music on my samsung galaxy sII and then it stopped and turned black , i removed the battery and placed it again , after that it was stuck in the samsug boot logo where it started to show samsung multiple times , i did the same thing remove and place the battery and after that it just turned black and doesn`t turn on again or even charge.

Maybe I'm just missing something, but I don't see any options for tuning off the LCD! I really hate sticking my phone in my pocket with the home screen active. You never know who your going to call.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and installed the Lock 2.0 free trial program. Upon install, when I clicked on the "Home" button on my Samsung Moment, a pop appeared with 3 choices:
Complete Action Using:
1) Home (go to home)
2) Lock icon (meaning to lock the phone) - also with a warning - do not use this as default - you had (sic) been warned.
3) a checkbox to use either choice 1 or 2 as the default always.
This made me curious. First of all if I accidentally remapped the Home button the Lock app, how would I be able to remap it to the default "Home" action? Looked in settings and do not see how I can remap Home button. I don't like how a 3rd part app can intercept the Home button and yet I can't figure out how to undo the damage if I accidentally remapped the Home button to the 3rd party app. Anyone here know if this is possible to restore the Home button if you mess up and a 3rd party app maps it by default?
I noticed while trying to put my phone into download mode that my camera button appears to be remapped or buggered in some way. The phone would simply never go into download mode (vol down/camera/end) and would, instead, just boot up like normal. I thought that the battery was too low or something of that sort, so I let the phone boot up and just tried to use each button to see how they would go. Volume down and end worked fine, but when I push camera, instead of actually taking a picture, the camera button seems to:
1) Adjust the volume up and down
2) Go to my contacts list
3) Dial the contact at the top of the list
While I'm sure I could talk to my local Mazda dealer about _something_, I can actually call them on my own just fine without the help of my camera button. But, what's worse is that I'm sure the camera button's remapping (or whatever) is what's causing me difficulties getting this thing into download mode.
I've just started noticing this about 3 days ago. I have to enter in the locked phone "puzzle" and I've noticed that the emergency button wasn't there. Im wondering if I'm the only one or am is it just my phone? I've noticed that this phone can be a bit buggy at times! Note: I have not had the update done on this phone. The only big recent app that I've installed is handcent.

All settings are set to keep the phone on for a signifiant period of time. Very frustrating to be typing a text message and have to unlock the phone mutiple times.Anyone have any ideas what is wrong?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't have ChompSMS, never have, I do however have Handcent SMS downloaded but this isn't the app that opens when I press the camera button. It's the default messaging application. There is no setting for "shortcuts" or whatever has been created with my camera button.

Ive had my moment for approx. 9 months now and I have taken very good care of it, never dropped it and ive had a case and screen protector on it the whole time and now i am losing my touchscreen. on the top right of the screen when you touch it it either doesnt do anything or it will think that i touched something on the left upper side. so you all know where im talking about when you pull down the notifications bar and you hit the clear button it doesnt work at all. is this phone just done or can it be fixed? anybody else have this problem? I just don't understand i took so good care of this phone!

This button's placement is absolutely perfect for accidentally pushing it with your thumb or fingers when you're on a call, or when holding the phone in either portrait or landscape mode. I dont use voice control. Even if I did, I'd want it to turn on when I decided to use it. I've searched the Phone Settings; I've searched these forums; I've searched the Android Marketplace. An app, a better phone-holding technique--I'll try just about anything. Also, for some reason I had a glitch the other day... I made a phone call, got my friend's voicemail, and then was unable to hang up the call. I ended up leaving a rather long, embarrassing voicemail message until I just went in and force stopped the dialer app, but at least my friend has a good sense of humor.
