I'm trying to record a new ring tone but when I press the record button nothing happens. I know the mic is working on the phone because voice activation etc. works. Anyone know of a way to get it to record sound?

Searched the forums on this and found nothing - when I'm recording video after a few minutes I always get a "recording failed" error message. The video recording is there, but I have to start a new recording if I want to continue.
I'm recording at full resolution (not MMS) to the OEM external SD card. The card itself has over half its space left, so I'm not running out of room.
I've downloaded some songs from my computer to my G1, next step i downloaded Ringdroid from the Android Market.When i launch the application it just says Record New >> For me to record a voice sound, i cannot access the music ringtone editor?I have tried pressing menu and touching screen but nothing?Has anyone else had same problem or am i doing something wrong?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed in all music apps (pandora, slacker, last.fm, mp3's) the sound on the low end is very overmodulated. It is to the point that if I am wearing headphones or using the Moment to play music in the car that the speakers are being pushed extremely hard. The low end is so cranked that no level of EQ on my sound system can get rid of the muffled sound on the low end.
It also almost sounds like my earbuds are going to blow even on low volume.
All other devices (IPod Touch, Touch Pro, Slacker portable, Hero) do not have this problem.
Is this normal for this phone and if so do you know of any apps where you can tweak the EQ of the media volume output?
Does anyone have problems with sound when playing music. I seem to be have one channel missing when I play Pandora or my personal music. It sound like one side of the songs is coming through but through both speakers. is there and equalizer app out there?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've used the default alarm clock that comes stock with the phone. Since I only need the alarm clock for weekday reminders, I'd prefer that the pone just vibrates or allows me to choose a more soothing "alarm" tone.
The only tones available for this alarm clock are extremely annoying and loud "alarms" that are not suitable in the classroom. (No, I am not a college student, but rather a principal at a private school.)
There are many ways to make the stock alarm clock work, but I can't find any of these settings.
I'd like to change the stock alarm clock program to simply vibrate with no alarm noise.
I'd like the choice to add a more quieter alarm sound, or lower the sound of the alarm ringer.
I'd like to change the functions of the buttons on the side of the phone--default settings are to snooze the alarm I guess? By the time I get the phone out of my pocket, one of the side keys are pressed, dooming to another annoying sound in exactly 10 minutes.
Do you find that when you take videos using the Desire the sound is really poor (very low)? Initially I thought it was because I had my finger covering the mic (bottom right).

I got 87% complete and then it froze. Now my phone wont do anything but get an sdx screen. Holding volume down camera and end wont do anything but maybe 1 out of 100 times. When it finally gets to the download screen the updater just sits and says ready and never downloads. Then after a minute of that the phone exits that screen automatically and just goes to a charging screen. PLEASE HELP my phone isnt even a phone currently it will do nothing.
Every time i try and look for and update like PRL firware or anything i always get an error message saying there is no network connection. and this also happens when i run the devices self service 1.1. But the thing is right after i try one of those things i wait a minute or so then open up the browser and have a fine a connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI first reported this error msg here I am getting this error msg while replying to a threaded txt msg it happens at random sometimes but on the average between 7-10 msgs deep. I cannot make any sense of this because if it was a format issue of how I have my contact entered then why would it allow me to respond to the msg until I get the error. I know looking at the image below you cannot see my previous replies but trust me I am able to reply to txt msg's. I will mention this I do have my line blocked so my contact entries are as follows *821732-555-5555 mobile pager 732-555-5555 <<This is the one I txt to the other number example is the one I select for when calling the person so the number is unlocked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i have had the Moment (on Sprint) for a while now, and there is one problem i can't seem to fix. The phone seems to constantly drop the area code off of ALMOST all messages I recieve from just one specific contact. So when I go to reply to that person, i get a 9230 error (not using a ten digit number) and i have to go to my contacts screen and choose to send a new message from there. Anyone have any ideas to fix? I have tried clearing the cache and using a different SMS software, all with the same problem.

I can both record and play the sound but the quality stinks. Its not just bad is really hard to listen to and sound abit like its a computer generated voice. I use the andriod SDK-emulator. The code that sets up the recording looks like this;

I don't know what part that makes the audio file sound really bad or if its just the emulator that makes it bad and that it would work on a real phone.
I am pulling my hair on this problem from a long time and haven't found a solution yet. I am running Android demo program - APIDemo which is available in android source. For my dev I am using ubuntu, earlier when I used to run SoundRecording example it created a file on sdcard but there was no recording as such which was done in the file but now it started working suddenly. I am still not sure why it happened. But anyways good news is that Microphone is working with android emulator - as opposed to what I read at many forums that it does not.
On other hand whenever I am trying to run the voice recognition application available in same APIDemo its giving me an error - "Recording Parameter not supported: sampelrate 1600, channelcount 1, samplerate 1". Is it that speech recognition cannot take higher sample rate and if it cannot what is the sample rate it requires? My microphone supports only 16000 and higher sample rate.
