When ever my phone freezes and the battery come out when I start it back up. The phone ends up sending 2 to 3 random previous messages to the last person I texted. This has happened several times has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix?

I upgraded to the samsung moment at the end of December and absolutely love the phone. I have been reading all the posts concerning battery issues and have the same problems myself. I have tried numerous tips and tricks that i have read on this forum to hopefully increase my battery life. My post today is about how to forward a text message using the moment. I upgraded from an Samsung Instict and had no problem forwarding messages using the phone; however, I do not get the option to forward when i hit the menu key when looking at a text.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI did attempt to use the search feature here but didnt come up with the results I was looking for (or maybe I used it wrong?) I ask the following questions because unfortunately, I dont have good eyesight.
1. Regarding font size. I realize there is no current setting for font size on this phone (that I know of) does anyone here know if the upcoming 2.1 update will include that?
2. I know there is a text size option for the browser. However, it doesent seem to work on most websites I go to (like CNN for example) I try setting it at different sizes and nada. So far my browsing experience hasent been that good because of this (having to constantly strain my eyes looking at website text) Any tips on why the text size option doesent seem to work?
3. is there anyway to increase the text size of emails and text messages?
I keep getting the triangle with exclamation point saying my text messages have not been sent. I try to resend and they still won't. Is it me or a setting or what?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Moment SM900. I see that there's a software update for my kind of phone. It states that all of the things I have on my cell will be deleted or erased so it would be best to back up some things that I may want to save. I have a text message from a friend asking to borrow money and that they will pay it back. I want to keep all of the details from that message thread just in case. I can copy and paste it to my notepad or I can forward it to my email address but neither of these have the vital information such as the day and time these messages were sent to me. I have a 16GB memory card in my phone but I can't do anything but mount or unmount it. Is there a app where I can save my text messages to either my card or computer? I want to update my phone but don't want to lose the old stuff that may be erased or deleted.

The last time I used this feature was about a month ago.Logging into my Sprint account, it appears Sprint has updated their website to include something called ZipText.This is new to me but may not actually be new. It appears to be set up to forward any texts it receives by default and the messages I expected to see did not appear there. In fact no texts appeared there.So is anyone experiencing problems receiving texts? I have tried powering down and up my phone.I have successfully sent 2 texts to different people but I do not receive their replies or new messages.I cannot see a setting that would cause this.I have gone into the "Messaging" application to send texts.

It would enter airplane mode and the only way to get out of the mode was to remove battery and then restart. That always didn't work either. This was unacceptable for 200 dollars. The battery was also a big ? It seemed that the battery life was non-existant. I give this phone an E on a grading scale. "E" for effort. Will wait for next Sprint Android phone. That might be a while.

View 30 Replies View RelatedSo my girlfriend is having an issue with her phone. I don't see it being an issue with mine but it might be something else. She is receiving non-alpha numeric characters in her text messages. So far shes gotten it from me and one of her other friends not knowing what to say she called it "caligraphy". Anyways, I am on Metro and her friend is on Verizon. I'd figure its a CDMA issue but she is on a Samsung Moment on Sprint which is also CDMA so idunno.
To me they send fine, but to her some of the texts she receives come in all garbled. Not sure whats going on, anyone got any ideas? Her phone is unrooted, stock, and like a week and a half ago had a factory reset done. Its 2.1 android. In this screenshot I asked her to forward me the "jibberish." She had tried to do it several times earlier but i never got the messages, this time i got it so heres a screenie for you all.
I've had sprint for years so didn't just port my number over but I don't get texts at random times and even updating prl or shutting the phone off wont fix it. Is this just my device I am picking up a new one tomorrow for other reasons but I want to know if I will prob get the same experience.

I notice it vibrating for calls, and text messages, and even emails, but not for yahoo IM. I have instant message set to go in the notification bar so it should, but i never notice it happening. Anyone have any ideas or do they know if it works on their phone?

My calls started randomly going directly to voice mail, then they all went directly to voice mail. Yesterday I couldn't make or receive any calls! They got that fixed today with a reprogram process, BUT, now I cannot connect to the Internet!
How do I forward/save, whatever, my text messages? Can I save them somehow to the SD card and remove it? Can I forward them to my email (without using the Internet?).
I have the messaging program that is standard, plus I use Chomp SMS mainly.
I do have a few questions about the phone. i was wondering if there is a way to make text messages alerts show up on my screen. i have an app that shows if i have one unread but it is pretty small. every other phone i've had had a pretty big notification for texts. also is there a way to have the screen light up when you get a text? there is a sound that plays when i get a text, but the screen does not light up. not sure if im just missing something, but is there a way to set different tones for different notification? right now the same thing plays when i plug my phone in, that plays when i get a text. none of these are huge issues, but i am just curious if there is a way to make some changes on the phone. im sure ill figure it out or just get used to it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Hero from Sprint. Great little phone. I'm having issues with texting. Here's my scenario.I receive a text from Facebook stating someone wrote on my wall. The from id is 123456789. I then get a text from a friend George. In the list view of of my texts George's text showing under the Facebook number. When I press on the Facebook name it shows the text from Facebook then from George. If I reply it goes to Facebook not George.It also happens under different users, appears to be very random and is causing issues as I'm trying to quickly reply, forget to check who it's going to, then I text someone something I shouldn't have. Not cool.Any ideas how to fix it? I downloaded Handcent SMS as well and that is having the same issue so it appears to be a root droid issue.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had my Incredible since 4/28, and everything has been working smoothly up until about last Thursday night when it just restarted out of the blue while I was listening to music. Then right after it booted up, it restarted again, then again about seven more times. I got fed up and took out the SD card and it seemed to stop after that, so I haven't put the SD card back in since then.
Just now, Wednesday, about a week later, I was browsing around on the internet and all of a sudden, it restarted, and then again, and again, and again. I've read that it is because of poor signal strength or something like that so I had just enough time to put it in airplane mode before it restarted again.
Side note, that theory about it being caused by poor signal seems to make sense because the first time it happened to me I was out of town in a city that gets very bad coverage with Verizon, and now today when it started happening again was at my house where for some reason I get very bad service with the incredible, my old phone worked perfectly fine in my house but the incredible gets terrible service, and so does my brother's Droid. In fact, about two weeks ago I got my first dropped call on Verizon in about three years, and it was in my house.
So anyways, I decided to put it in airplane mode, and just after I put it in airplane mode it restarted again. Then when it booted back up my Helix Launcher 2 home screen went back to the standard Helix Launcher 2 icons, I go into my messages and everything is gone, my contacts are all gone, everything is gone. I go to the app menu and all my apps are still there, but when I start up an app, all the custom settings are default now. I went into the settings and my accounts are all still there. I click on internet and I get a terms of service agreement, it's as if I am booting it up for the first time, but for some reason my apps and accounts are all still there.
I turn airplane mode off thinking it might have something to do with it not being connected to my google account, and I restart it again and everything is still gone. I don't know what to do, has this happened to anyone before? I feel like there should be a way for me to get this stuff back since my apps are still there and my accounts are still synced, but random things are missing like my contacts and messages etc. This is really starting to get annoying, I have insurance and everything, but I really don't want to exchange it for another one because I've read that other people who have had there phones replaced have still had the same rebooting problem, even after going through multiple replacements.
Went to sleep with approximately 25 text threads. When I woke up and looked at my phone there were no message to be found. Everything was erased. Very strange. For the record I have the "delete old messages" unchecked.

Anyone else having these issues? I just had my other one replaced due to a cracked screen, only have had this about 1-2 weeks at this point.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy samsung moment (NOT rooted with 2.1) gets stuck in a boot loop when I restart it. After about 10 mins the lock screen comes up and if I unlock it quick enough the phone runs fine but if I dont unlock it within a certain period of time it will just go back into booting up and go back to showing the samsung logo.
The phone has been running very sluggish since Ive been experiencing this and Im about to do a factory data reset but I dont feel like reloading all my apps and redoing all my settings. Does anyone know of a way to fix this without resetting the whole phone? anyone else experiencing the same thing? any help would be appreciated. Im about to get a blackberry, I love the android when it works but it just seems the slightest adjustment to the phone sends the whole thing haywire. Living with this aggrevation is becoming not worth it.
Yesterday I was using my Moment, and had to reboot it... Data lock *cringe*. So it boots up, and I start using it, browsing the internet, and suddenly, without warning, while my finger is on the screen scrolling, the phone locks up the screen. It did it several times more while I was using Google maps, and while I was browsing my gallery.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDo not leave wifi enabled. Thats it. Only use wifi as needed and immediately turn it off. If you leave it on you can go airplabe mode 2-3 x a day. Let me know, but i know it works for my samsung moment.

Within the past couple of days i have been suffering from thje random restart problem at least once a day. Anybody know what the cause of it is and how to stop it? Same with the data lock up? what gives? I dont recall either of those 2 things happening with the stock os but the airplane mode problem did. Also my wifi tether absolutely does not work and nobody has been able to tell me why yet lol. That was one of the main reasons i rooted and flashed. I dont really wanna go back to stock because my battery life is better. What gives here with these 3 problems?

I tried everything and finally resorted to doing a factory reset, now everything is working, and I am receiving all the messages I was supposed to get during the period it wasn't working. Now that I am getting all the messages, I realize that I wasn't getting them from before the update as well. I guess chomp is not to blame.
