View 1 RepliesI have recently figured out how to watch movies on my samsung moment, but the problem lies with the fact that my SD card doesnt hold alot of them, Is it possible to hook up my external hard drive (western digital element i believe, its a flash hard drive) to my phone, to have a larger library of movies to watch?I figured at the least I would have to use a micro usb to mini usb.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOnce again, I must do a hard reset on my Samsung Moment. I love and hate this phone! My calls started randomly going directly to voice mail, then they all went directly to voice mail. Yesterday I couldn't make or receive any calls! They got that fixed today with a reprogram process, BUT, now I cannot connect to the Internet!
How do I forward/save, whatever, my text messages? Can I save them somehow to the SD card and remove it? Can I forward them to my email (without using the Internet?).
I have the messaging program that is standard, plus I use Chomp SMS mainly.
I just recently came upon my new samsung moment, so i wanted to go ahead and root it after having my rooted hero with froyo, and i loved it.
Anywhos, i got to the point where I update it using the files i got off of the tutorial, and now im at the point where i need to boot into recovery in order to flash the phone with my new rom. However, here lies the issue. My phone is turned off, and i hold down volume down, and both the call and end buttons simultaneously. It starts to load up, but then it just basically loads into my phone like it normally should. I hold the buttons down all the way through this time, and same deal.. so what am i doing wrong here?
Got another Moment and did all my stuff to it, rooting etc. Then I installed the burst leo theme and it is stuck in boot loop.I can't get into recovery or anything.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy android is rooted. It tethers, plays live wallpapers, it does all the other fancy tricks it's supposed to, I can even switch up the boot animations without having to flash the internal memory each time (use the boot animation changer app from the market-- you can go into the downloaded folders and switch what screens are actually shown-- cut-n-paste), but how do you CREATE boot animations?? I understand the whole "slide show of *.png" files, I'm lost at the disc.txt file. Does anyone know what each set of numbers represents? I've fiddled around with this and every time I've put something together, it just don't work. I've got the droid screen followed by the Decepticon symbol spinning around, I've got the one that forms the Decepticon out of pieces, then goes to the matrix rain. I want the symbol to form, then have the spinning symbol. So far, when I piece it together the screen stays black. Any recommendations? I'll post the zip file when it's done, has tons of potential!

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy samsung moment (NOT rooted with 2.1) gets stuck in a boot loop when I restart it. After about 10 mins the lock screen comes up and if I unlock it quick enough the phone runs fine but if I dont unlock it within a certain period of time it will just go back into booting up and go back to showing the samsung logo.
The phone has been running very sluggish since Ive been experiencing this and Im about to do a factory data reset but I dont feel like reloading all my apps and redoing all my settings. Does anyone know of a way to fix this without resetting the whole phone? anyone else experiencing the same thing? any help would be appreciated. Im about to get a blackberry, I love the android when it works but it just seems the slightest adjustment to the phone sends the whole thing haywire. Living with this aggrevation is becoming not worth it.
Acer Liquid E hard reset
Turn off your phone, then press and hold the Power until you feel your smartphone vibrate and/or you see the Acer logo screen. Press and hold the Volume up and Volume down buttons. Use the Volume up button to select Clean boot:YES. Press the camera button to confirm.
I just went from the HTC EVO to the Epic, and one thing i wanna find out. Is there any unlock pattern or password or anything for the Epic? They really need to update this phone with one because i can't lock my phone. People could just read my stuff whenever they want to or if im away from it. Its mostly pictures. What can i do for now, and think they will make a Update for this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHere I am with 2 HTC Hero phones, with only one on an active account. I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account. Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. Maybe we can work out a swap. Now for the additional 1 to 2 feet of snow that is forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow, on top of the 2.5 feet still on the ground.

View 38 Replies View RelatedI currently own a Palm Pre and I'm ready to ditch it for an Android device. Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.
View 40 Replies View RelatedI've had my Captivate for a few weeks now. I've noticed since day one that the search button 'hard button' on the lower right of the phone, mysteriously 'pressed itself'. The first few times I figured I pushed it on accident with my pinky or something. That Is Not The Case. I know I'm not going crazy but every once in awhile, the hard button lights will go on and the vibrate (I have vibrate set to on) will go on and the search will pop up. All on it's own. This happens at least 5 times a day. If not more. It doesn't do it on any one specific page, it does it no matter what I'm doing on my phone. Sometimes I'll literally watch it just laying in my hand when my phone is on and the search will pop up.

to reset i5500 it's no so sample
-first u need to download adb (android debug bridge)MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service adb.rar
-then copy the two files in to windowssystem32
-power on the phone the phone and setup the drivers
-open cmd and type "adb reboot recovery"
-the phone will reboot and enter in recovery
-select wipe data adn then reboot
As I recall, every review for the Captivate dings it for being hard to see the screen in direct sunlight. But is it just me, or is it not that bad? I've been using mine outdoors for running. That includes controlling the media player, switching to email to link to the map my running team emailed to us, and then referencing the map when so I knew where to turn. I'm not reading War and Peace with the reflection of the sun glaring off the screen, but all in all, I've found it pretty easy to use outdoors. What are your thoughts on real world outdoor SAMOLED usability?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAny found any good cases online for their Samsung Galaxy S. So far I am finding people selling crappy plastic things with cheesy logos for $25+ here in Canada. What a rip off... would love to find a place that will ship and buy some cases at around $5 each. Looking for a hard case with a screen protector + a running armband.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I made my first attempt at rooting the phone and it did not go well to say the least. I ran the unroot, and then I did a factory reset on the phone. It starts up fine, screen works well, but no connection to T-mobile, and Wi-Fi won't work. I tried searching for a network through settings but it won't find anything. Does anyone now how to fix this?

View 32 Replies View RelatedI had to write this up again cause my browser tab hung when I hit 'preview'. I couldn't even copy the text. Other tabs were working fine though. Is this XDA's fault or my browser (Chrome)? Anyway, teaches me to always write stuff up in Notepad first. So, onto the problem...
1. Some months ago, I flashed MIUI into my device, was working fine. I do the regular Friday night developer updates, although the notification doesn't always come up so I could've missed a few.
2. About 4 or 5 days ago, opening an application or sms started yielding the error message "android.process has stopped unexpectedly [FORCE QUIT] [WAIT]". I can sometimes get around this by fiddling around (rebooting, turning wifi/data on and off etc). It buys me just enough time to complete the task, but then the issue starts again. Phone calls don't yield this error, though.
3. Then today, I rebooted my device and it got stuck in an endless loop on the MIUI logo screen. Obviously this is related to the errors I've been getting. I booted into recovery and backed up my data to the internal SD. I don't believe the backup completed though. From memory, an error may have come up. It still, however, created a date stamped backup file.
4. Tried to restore the backup file, "missmatched MD5 checksum". Tried to restore an earlier backup, same thing. Tried some other restore options such as restore boot, restore data, restore system etc, still same thing.
5. Then I read that clearing the dalvik cache may fix the issue, so I went into advanced options and cleared the dalvik cache, rebooted, now my phone won't turn on, nor will it boot into recovery mode. It will, however, boot into download mode.
I am trying to open a secure website (https) and the Moment stock browser balks. Will another browser work or is this a limitation on the phone?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?
What experiences have you had with replacement phones from Sprint?
Should I be worried about getting a lemon phone?
Does setcpu speed up the Moment at all or is its only real use for downclocking to save battery?

I currently have a voice plan, with sprint, for my dying LG Musik and my father's Palm Centro and am seeking to replace my Musik with a Samsung Moment. I have an upgrade available on my account, however I don't want to get locked into a data plan, since I rarely spend any time away from Wifi.
Does anyone know if there is a way for me to use my upgrade to aquire the Moment without commiting to the data plan?
set up the wifes new moment her gmail still says 109 unread I went intp gmail on the pc and marked all as read then refreshed on the phone, no luck, tried going to manage apps and clearing all gmail and refreshing, still no luck short of one by one deleting all 109 any way to fix the count?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo i had a hard decision to make when buying a new phone. It was between the HTC Hero and the Samsung Moment. After about 2 weeks I finally made the jump. A lot of the apps are on the I phone and I touch which is pretty cool. But can anyone tell me if it is possible to maybe change the phone kinda like jail breaking? Is there anyway of making the Moment a wireless tether for internee?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMost every other "issue" to this phone has been a non-issue for me to this point. However, the one feature Samsung really screwed us on is the voice capabilities of the phone.I think they are tied to the Nuance system and therefore unusable by other apps like google voice search and where.I hope samsung or sprint writes a live search app for this phone.I bought the phone with the expectations of this phone being capable of voice commands without being limited by nuance.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI know nothing about rooting phones, so i thought Id ask here. Im in the process of choosing between the moment and the hero, and I cant decide. The biggest concern I have is how fast will the Moment be rooted. Its sounding like they are close with the Hero, and once that is done will that make it easier for someone to figure out how to root the moment? Or is it like starting from scratch from phone to phone? Im also a bit concerned that no one at XDA will be helping with the process since the moment is not an HTC phone. I had a Treo800 when it first cameout, and it seemed like it took FOREVER for roms to make it way to that device. Any thoughts?
