My fiance has a moment and we wanted to know how to back up her app data before we update to 2.1 without rooting the phone.I know that contacts and e-mails are synced but what about app data?I tried a quick search but found nothing.

I bought an used Samsung Moment via Craiglist about 3 weeks ago. Initially, I had to wiggle my cable to get it charged. After few days, it was not charging nor communicating with my laptop via USB cable. Of course, the Craiglist seller was not willing help me.
After contacting Samsung, I had sent it in to be fixed since it was still under warranty. It just came back today with a note saying:
Your phone is damaged beyond economical repair in the form of a warped board, or missing or damaged components. The factory warranty has been voided.
I know that I can charge my battery via some kind of external batter charger that is around, but can I update my phone and/or root my phone without using USB cable? Can I use a bluetooth connection? If not any idea or suggestion?
Can I take a Moment that is flashed to Cricket and flash it back to sprint.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI currently have a voice plan, with sprint, for my dying LG Musik and my father's Palm Centro and am seeking to replace my Musik with a Samsung Moment. I have an upgrade available on my account, however I don't want to get locked into a data plan, since I rarely spend any time away from Wifi.
Does anyone know if there is a way for me to use my upgrade to aquire the Moment without commiting to the data plan?
Recently on Sprint's Moment forum a member by the name Mkeng5 has been posting pretty vocal complaints about the Samsung Moment. Not only does he claim the Moment is defective, but he goes a step further and even cites Samsung's own Warranty Policy.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI went in on Friday morning to the Sprint store and got the update for my Moment. I must say it fixed my key complaints. When I got back to my office (where I never got GPS reading before) it showed me on Google maps right where I was -Yeah! The lag in keystroke to letters appearing appears to be almost entirely gone. And Battery Life is really improved - to a crazy point (in a good way). I pulled it off the charger this morning, checked some scores today and then pretty much spent all evening downloading apps / playing games, etc and I was shocked when I got done - Still had about 70% battery life. Good job Sprint. I would have liked to have had this w/o going into the store, but it only took about 15 minutes and I have store close by, so no biggie.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWebhost had a massive server failure due to a botched apache update.They had to restore the images from previous which took the majority of today.. then they had some minor data corruption so they had to recreate the data from the raid parity bits which takes some time.It looks like it is all resolved and i had to replace some files from a backup, but the site should be back up and running and sustain no data loss..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just traded my Palm Pre for a Samsung Moment today (made the deal off of Craigs List). The phone worked great all afternoon after I got it but 30 minutes ago I pulled it out to enter something into my calendar and it was off. I tried to turn it on but it seems dead.The battery has at least 40% remaining last time I looked and it is charging right now just in case. Anybody else have this happen? Is there some special way to turn this on that I don't know about? I held down the hang up button to turn it on and it is not working.Any ideas? (The Sprint rep at the store where I swapped with the other person said the warranty sticks to where ever the ESID is active - meaning on my account so I do have the warranty for it).

Google did my contacts, but not my text. I see my text in my gmail, but how do I put them back on my phone, as well as my apps. I went to the market and downloaded Astro as b4, and I went to my sdcard and to the folder named backup, but what's next?

I was running joey's rom and now I'm running ultimate dream's rom I think it's called. Whenever I try to flash it with the updater it just hangs and in the progress bar it just says ready. I tried rooting it today by following what seemed to be fairly simple instructions but when I went to do the recovery part, I got this message..."Samsung PST MFC Application has stopped working". I tried going thru the whole process again while phone was still plugged in but I kept getting same msg. When I unplugged it and tried turning it on, all I would get was a pic of a phone, a question mark, and a computer. I had to hard boot it. Once I did that, it was on the 1.5 version. I had to take it to the fix it shop to get the upgrade and my contacts back. I'm very scared to even try this again myself but I want it rooted so bad! I want to be able to use it as a modem for my laptop.

The screen will go dark as if to boot up but just ends up going back to the Samsung glowing letters. This phone is a mess! Why would they release something so unstable?

I loved the feature in Sprint's V-mail, that allowed me to connect directly to another Sprint users V-mail. It was a great time saver, allowed me to just leave the message & get on w/ my day (ok I admit it, it was mainly used to avoid talking to my mother when I knew she was in a bad mood)Since I got the Moment, even when I call my v-mail directly, said option is no longer there. Borrowed my g'friends phone for a minute, and the options is still there for her. I checked Sprint's forums, and couldn't find anything about them changing the v-mail with the Moment.
View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery time I put it on a charger (USB or Wall), it charges and when it's done, the phone awakes and stays on. So if I don't manually put it back into sleep mode, it will sit there all lit up and drain my battery.

The phone rings and the speaker works but it will not play Pandora, will not play MP3 files stored in the SD card, it will not play voice mail and it will not play stored ring tones?
