Samsung Moment :: Handcent SMS Send Failed

Been using Handcent for a long time now and generally happy with it. However I get random "failed to send" error messages. Over time I've come to discover that most of the time the message is an error and the intended txt message was indeed sent. If I resend most say they get the same txt multiple times. Is anyone else seeing this? I was gonna post over on the Handcent forum but I'm not registered there so figured I'd try here first. This has been happening for months now over all the version upgrades. I'm actually not so sure this is a Handcent thing or a hardware thing. And again this is very random and doesn't happen all that often. Using Firmware 2.1 update 1.

I own the Moment, which I want to throw through Sprints windows, and randomly, with full bars, get Error 97 or Error 7 when attempting to send text using Handcent, I have called Sprint on this several times over the last month or 2, each times, they do whatever they do on their end, and it works for a while or it doesn't. I finally take it to the store today on advice from a tech saying there may be an antenna issue, the tech at the store says no issues and that handcent MIGHT be my issue. Anyone ELSE seeing these network errors with Handcent? I don't believe that's the issue and feel Sprint just doesn't want to deal with it.

My problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.

Since updating to 2.1, I've noticed that when I get a text message, the Handcent pop-up appears, and then maybe 5-10 seconds later, I get the notification. This is really annoying mainly because sometimes I've already read the message and replied or closed it, but now I have an annoying notification stuck there. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions on dealing with it (other than just dealing with it )?

I decided today to look into lock screen replacements. I'd tried FlyScreen before, and felt it was way overkill. I just wanted something interesting where a third of my screen didn't just say "Sprint." I downloaded Lock 2.0 demo, which was sort of cool. But then I got a text message, which caused Handcent to do it's little pop up over the locked screen. Normally all good, but with the different lock screen, when I rotated the phone and slid out the keyboard, the screen did not re-orient itself. Is this an issue with Handcent? With Lock 2.0? Does it happen with any lock screen replacement?

I'm using Handcent for SMS messages. I was sent some pics via MMS. I can view them fine but don't see a way to save them to the SD card/memory. Is there an option to save the pics in Handcent? I want to save them all before I update to CL14.

I recently copied all the files on the sd card that came with my moment and put them on an 8gig card. Also created a music folder and stuffed it full of my favorite tunes. Now when I get a text in Handcent it plays 2pac (the first song in the folder) The whole song~! I also downloaded mixzing to listen to my music. After this happened I uninstalled mixzing but that didnt help. I can change the notification sound in handcent but that dont work. Any idea why handcent is firing up my music player or folder? Im back to using the stock player but it still happens.

I've noticed that if I try to send a text at the same time as receiving one in handcent, I always get a "message failed to send" error. As to whether the message is actually sent later, I have no clue.
Is this a Sprint issue, or a handcent one? I'd like to fix it, but I really don't want to go back to the stock Android Messaging app...

On my second Moment and this one has been ok(with the exception of airplane mode) until now... I tried to send a text eariler and I got the message not sent error then I tried to make a phone call and it wouldent go through.. the call timer didn't even pop up. The odd thing is my internet works fine... I. Went back to factory settings via menu privacy reset and still no phone.

I'm totally new to Android, enjoying it and loving my Samsung Moment.I have searched Google as well as this forum for an answer to my question - forgive me if I did not search far and wide enough. So here is my issue.I could swear that when I tapped on an email address for a contact inside Contacts, that a window would pop asking if I'd like to send a Gmail message or a Work Email message (these choices had the little Gmail and Work Email icons as well).About a day or two ago, this option no longer appears for me in Contacts. Instead, when tapping on an email address inside a contact, I am taken straight to the Welcome screen to setup up Moxier Mail, which I do not want to use.I would like to just use the native Gmail option. But now, it appears as though my Contact email addresses no longer connect to the option of sending via Gmail or Work Email

Any good programs out there to send texts from your pc to cell phones? I want to be able to hook my cell phone up to my computer to send them, so it doesn't cost anything.

I'm new to the moment, just coming off the blackberry curve. One feature I liked about the blackberry was the ability to set up a group text, such as "family" and send a text to the entire family. Is there an app or another way to set this up for the Samsung Moment phone?

Does the moment have the capability to send audio/video to an external display? I have a ton of shows/movies on it and I would like to hook it up to a tv to watch them. I found this ---> T3 TV-Out Video AV Cable For Samsung Moment SPH m900 US - eBay (item 110497826612 end time Mar-23-10 05:09:55 PDT) but it is the only place I've seen it and I'm not sure if it will actually work with the phone. Any one got a clue?

With any other phone, if an SMS fails to send due to no signal, it stays in the outbox, and is automatically retried when there's a signal again.
So why not on Hero? I tried to send a message just now, it failed. When I find a signal... nothing happens. MOREOVER, when I bring up the failed message, and hit SEND, it says "invalid content"... I eventaully worked out this is because it doesn't think I'm re-sending the failed message, it thinks I'm trying to "REPLY" to it with a fresh message.
Is there any way to resolve this very basic issue?

I have noticed for the last month not being able to send a MMS or reply or send gmail email. I think this started after installing Baked Snack 1.7 ROM from Damage Control 3.2 ROM. I have since tried to fix it by installing Fresh 3.3 ROM, radio 2.15.00.09.01 and WIMAX 26023. The error i get when trying to send MMS is generic network failure. All other functions of the phone work normally as far as i know. Anyone else run across an issue like this?

I wonder if the following, using Handcent SMS and Any Cut, is possible.I want to make a shortcut that launches the audio-recorder that records the sound I want to send as an MMS. The reason for this is because this is a much safer solution than typing an SMS when driving.

I have a Spice Mi 350n (Android 2.3.4 ; Baseband Version: MT6573 ; Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 ; Build Number: ALPS.GB.FDD2.MP.V2.14 ; Custom Build version: spice_MI350N_IND_V1.7) .
Very surprisingly I am not able to transfer (both Send and Receive) any files through BLUETOOTH. This is such a basic function of all mobile. I have tried couple of file managers, Bluetooth Manager but not able to transfer. I have rooted the phone .

I tried searching for an answer to this, but had no luck. I've just ditched the stock Messaging App for Handcent and am really liking it (as many have here have said). BUT, when I send an MMS or even a simple text, I can't seem to send to email addresses that I had saved (I typically send to some phones and emails at the same time). I could do this with the stock app. Any ideas for me...I feel dizzy from looking through all the Handcent options and can't find anything.
