Simple really, anyone have any experience with their moment and the Sync system that comes with newer model Fords (and their Lincoln and Mercury brethren)? I have an '08 Fusion (great car BTW, and I'm definitely no domestic car fanboy) and want to make sure I'll be good if I decide to get the Moment.

I have a 2010 F150 with sync and currently i use:ipod connected via USB for music blackberry connected via bluetooth for phone garmin connected via power for nav.I am planning on buying the samsung captivate when rogers releases it and a car dock and what I am wondering is if I put the phone in a car dock and connect only to USB and pair it to blue tooth, will I be able to make calls, play music, use the maps/nav all using sync? Because I notice when i try to play music via bluetooth sync doesnt have full voice control and when i hook up my ipod via usb the ford logo takes over and i cant control the device unless its through sync.So it seems like the phone to do all three is a bit unlikely.

I just got a Focus and have been using it to make calls and stream music. It does that very well. However, my SF gets super hot while streaming internet radio via bluetooth. Plus, it can't recharge via the in-car usb fast enough. Those are the only two drawbacks.
I wonder if Samsung Moment use the same battery as BH2.I was looking at eBay and found Moment Battery and charger around $10, and thought it would be nice to have an extra battery.Does anybody know if they are compatible?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a 2008 Lincoln MKX.I was able to pair the phone and can use it for calls.However, when I use the navigation option on the phone, I am not getting any audio through the vehicle's speakers.I need to turn off bluetooth and use the phone's speakers.Has anybody else run into this issue or know what can be done to correct this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just Flashed to KaosFroyo V37 from White Widow. So far the Froyo seems to be much faster and smoother than WW. My only issue is that I cannot get Ford's Sync to pair with the phone on this ROM. It has worked on every 2.1 ROM that I have used. It gets to the point where you enter the PIN into the phone and then the connect process crashes.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Ford with Sync. So, I get into my car and I see a VVM. I push to listen but I cannot listen to my VVM in my car with Sync. It seems the issue is the Droid is routing the VVM thru the "bluetooth headset" (it shows) at all times once a Ford Sync is connected. I guess that seems logical, kind of. And of course, the Ford Sync does not initiate - so no speaker sound - unless you make a call. So, the Droid is playing the VVM via BT but since BT is not initiated by just listening to a VVM, the VVM is playing into thin air. No way to listen to it. You can't put it on speaker phone the Droid and you can't put the Sync to be able to listen as it can only do that if on a call.
Furthermore, If you go ahead and dial into your voice mail direct, defeats the purpose of VVM, you have to cycle through all of your VM to get to the new one and if you delete any, it deletes them off the phones VVM menu. So, I see only 3 lame methods:
1. Dial into your VM and bypass VVM
2. Turn BT off on the phone, listen, turn it back on to Sync with your car
3. Disconnect the BT Sync on your car, listen, reinitiate the BT Sync with your phone.
I posted a while back about my stock music player randomly starting when my phone is locked or sleeping. I tried a few things that were suggested, but nothing helped. I have narrowed my problem down to this happening whenever I get into my truck - and that it has to do with the Ford Sync. I know others have had this problem as well.I'm planning on rooting my phone. I'm wondering if rooting will solve this problem? Or has anyone found out how to get around this?

I was one-way syncing my Outlook contacts/calendar (no e-mail sync) to my phone via HotSync Manager; I believe at one time I was doing a two-way sync but there seemed to be some issues so I went the one-way sync route.
Home Computer: I'm running Outlook 2007 (no Exchange) with MS Outlook Connector so I can manage multiple Hotmail e-mail accounts within Outlook. I was one-way syncing my phone contacts/calendar to my Outlook contacts/calendar via HotSync Manager.
Finally got around to putting 2.1 on my wifes phone and everything looks good. I downloaded the FB app from the market and when going to sync i can add account and choose Facebook but nothing happens. Anyone else having this problem?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working with a client's new samsung moment. We set it up for google apps email and Exchange sync through Moxier. All was good and well for a few days, and then the Google/gmail app stopped syncing. In All Accounts, sync, it gave the error ' sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly' We pulled the battery but still does this. I tested other apps that would verify connection - browser, Moxier, etc., fine.
Today the moxier sync for Exchange email, calendar, contacts, tasks would not sync either; just stopped. Again, pulling the battery didn't unstick this.
I am used to the Microsoft phones where this plus a soft reset cured things for a few days. Please advise on a methodology to diagnose.
I never buy music online. I have a large Itunes library which I use with my Ipod-built from ripping over 200 cd's. Is there a program that I can add to my Moment that will sync it with my Itunes?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe past few days, my phone has had 3 or 4 times where it has said that it couldn't sync, and it would show one of those Captcha things and make my type in the letters.It was just a minor annoyance at first, but it keeps happening.Then, just now I was in my gmail account on my PC and I noticed that all of my contacts had gotten duplicated, but with a slash at the end of their last names.I don't know if this is related to the above issue or not.Anyone else seen anything like this?

The EV/1x icon just won't come back. This is also an issue because the phone frequently does not do a periodic sync when I leave JD running during the day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOriginally, when I got my Moment, I had it set up to Auto-Sync my Gmail, Contacts and Calendar. I noticed (especially when managing contacts on my phone) that when I made any changes to a contact, the auto-sync would begin, in turn, freezing up the whole contact app/module. It would freeze for about 30 seconds until the sync was complete.
This would also happen with the Gmail app. So I turned off auto-sync a couple weeks ago, and every time I go into Gmail, I just go to Menu, Refresh. But it's a pain when I get a call saying, "Hey, did you get my email?". So I'm thinking of using IMAP for Gmail now, but I'd rather find out if anyone else is having this issue, or if there's a workaround.

On behalf of the small number of MAC users in this forum, I made a call to Samsung tech support re: how to do the Frodo update with a MAC computer. I was told that the Galaxy phone is PC based and, at present, Samsung does not have a plan to port Kies to OS X. In order to install the Frodo update when it is available, if we don't have an application such as Parallels or Virtual PC, we will have to borrow a PC to do the job.
