Has anyone used their Fascinate with Microsoft Sync in Ford vehicles? If so, what is your take on it.
I just got a Focus and have been using it to make calls and stream music. It does that very well. However, my SF gets super hot while streaming internet radio via bluetooth. Plus, it can't recharge via the in-car usb fast enough. Those are the only two drawbacks.

Has anyone had trouble keeping the Fascinate paired with a GM vehicle factory bluetooth? We have two vehicles at work (2010 GMC Sierra and 2010 Buick of some sort) and both vehicles pair and stay paired to the Fascinate. However, once you leave the vehicle and come back later, the phone doesn't automatically pair back to the vehicle. You have to go through the entire pairing process again.
We have confirmed that the GM vehicle paring works fine with a Droid X and all sorts of different Blackberries. Any thoughts?
If there will be an issue with using the Incredible with Microsoft Sync in my Ford Fusion. I currently use my BB Storm with no issues.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a 2010 F150 with sync and currently i use:ipod connected via USB for music blackberry connected via bluetooth for phone garmin connected via power for nav.I am planning on buying the samsung captivate when rogers releases it and a car dock and what I am wondering is if I put the phone in a car dock and connect only to USB and pair it to blue tooth, will I be able to make calls, play music, use the maps/nav all using sync? Because I notice when i try to play music via bluetooth sync doesnt have full voice control and when i hook up my ipod via usb the ford logo takes over and i cant control the device unless its through sync.So it seems like the phone to do all three is a bit unlikely.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just Flashed to KaosFroyo V37 from White Widow. So far the Froyo seems to be much faster and smoother than WW. My only issue is that I cannot get Ford's Sync to pair with the phone on this ROM. It has worked on every 2.1 ROM that I have used. It gets to the point where you enter the PIN into the phone and then the connect process crashes.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLemme start by saying I was finally able to figure out how to sync my fascinate with the music on my computer. It took a while but I did eventually figure it out.But now I'm having a very strange problem. I'm unable to mount the phone when I connect it to my computer.The problem is whenever I plug the phone into the computer the phone doesn't recognize a USB connection.So I can't go in and tell it to mount. The weird part is that if I just plug the phone into the wall to charge that's when I get the USB notification that I've connected to a USB.Somewhere my phone has mixed the two inputs up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Ford with Sync. So, I get into my car and I see a VVM. I push to listen but I cannot listen to my VVM in my car with Sync. It seems the issue is the Droid is routing the VVM thru the "bluetooth headset" (it shows) at all times once a Ford Sync is connected. I guess that seems logical, kind of. And of course, the Ford Sync does not initiate - so no speaker sound - unless you make a call. So, the Droid is playing the VVM via BT but since BT is not initiated by just listening to a VVM, the VVM is playing into thin air. No way to listen to it. You can't put it on speaker phone the Droid and you can't put the Sync to be able to listen as it can only do that if on a call.
Furthermore, If you go ahead and dial into your voice mail direct, defeats the purpose of VVM, you have to cycle through all of your VM to get to the new one and if you delete any, it deletes them off the phones VVM menu. So, I see only 3 lame methods:
1. Dial into your VM and bypass VVM
2. Turn BT off on the phone, listen, turn it back on to Sync with your car
3. Disconnect the BT Sync on your car, listen, reinitiate the BT Sync with your phone.
I posted a while back about my stock music player randomly starting when my phone is locked or sleeping. I tried a few things that were suggested, but nothing helped. I have narrowed my problem down to this happening whenever I get into my truck - and that it has to do with the Ford Sync. I know others have had this problem as well.I'm planning on rooting my phone. I'm wondering if rooting will solve this problem? Or has anyone found out how to get around this?

I have a Ford Focus with Microsoft Sync. Shortly after getting my HTC Evo I got it all connected to my car and could make hands free phone calls just like my old phone did. It was great. Then I went to the Bluetooth Settings and tried to change the device name from "PC36100" to "HTC Evo". Now it never seems to connect to my car again.
Frustrated, I went in to the Sync menu in the car and deleted all bluetooth devices figuring I would just start over. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a similar function on the Evo. Sync now sits there waiting for me to enter the PIN so that it can pair a device, but when I scan for devices on my phone it will often claim that Sync is "paired but not connected" or sometimes I can get it to prompt for me a PIN. When I enter that, it sits there "pairing" with Sync indefinitely. Other times the application seems to crash before I can actually enter the PIN, and the screen switches back to the "Bluetooth Settings" menu. Touching the button to pair usually gets me back to where I can enter a PIN (without crashing) but again -- it hangs indefinitely after the PIN has been submitted.
I have tried power cycling the phone as well as turning bluetooth off and then back on. I have also tried setting the option to make the device discoverable, but nothing seems to work!
Is there a way to blast all of the information that the Evo knows about paired bluetooth devices and start all over without completely flashing the phone back to defaults? I hope so...
We also have an Escape with Sync so I'll try pairing with that when I get home too. My old phone allowed me to store multiple profiles (which I named Sync-Focus and Sync-Escape) but it wasn't an Android phone. I don't know what's going to happen when I try this with the Evo but I guess it's worth a shot.
Parts of the calendar won't sync. My Trip It agenda or US holidays won't sync. All other Gcal appointments sync and are listed on the phone as expected. I have all agenda items listed on my Gcal and checked all proper boxes on phone settings. I even contacted Blik app developer who confirmed what to do in the settings. It seems this is an SF issue. For travel, Trip It which sends all of my confirmations, flights, rentals, etc. to my calender all of which shows up on Gcal but not on the phone even though the Trip it calendar is checked on the phone settings. Whilst I am new to the SF, I have been an Android user for over a year and none of these issues were present on my D1. Any tips unique to the SF that I am unaware of vis a vis calendars?

We us to do this all the time with our Blackberries and it was a life saver. I just created a gmail account to that is all new to me as well. So I am not sure if it somehow has to go through my google calendar or is there an app of a different calendar that we both can download?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am the proud new owner of a Fascinate (Eris refugee). Love this phone! I don't seem to have any GPS issues, and reception/call quality is excellent so I guess I got a good one...
Except for one thing. My Google calendar will NOT come down into the phone. I've got my email, contacts, FB, everything else is sync'd up perfectly. But the calendar sync just keeps spinning, and anytime I try to open the calendar on the phone, it black screens and hangs for about 3-4 minutes before FC'ing on me. I understand there is a known issue with creating events on the phone calendar and not syncing to gCal - this is not that problem. The phone seems to be "stuck" trying to sync the calendar. I've let it sit there and spin until it stops. I've pulled the battery, removed downloaded apps, done about everything I can think of here. I've spent quite a bit of time getting this phone set up and I've got it dialed in brilliantly - I really REALLY do not want to throw the last several hours of getting this phone set up right out the window, but it looks like that is my only real option - a factory reset.
I do not have sync birthdays checked under my accounts. The Facebook birthday events have been added to "my calendar" events. I have even done a hard reset.
Seems like a syncing issue. I want to be able to use LPP agenda widget, but I can not customize which calendars to view. This has not happened on my Droid X or Incredible.
Set up a facebook account on my Fascinate to sync contacts and it keeps giving an error trying to sync. It saids Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly. Never does.Anyone else get this or is it just me? Might it be fixed? Anything i can do to make it work?

It locked up and perma-black screened after rooting and installing launcher pro, so I tried to use the backup from Odin to save it. Saved the phone. Seems to work. The verizon backup option successfully restores her contact info.I can't get it to sync with her google account, and I am LOSING MY MIND because I have to leave early tomorrow morning, and I don't want to leave my sis. with a broken phone.And where in the heck do you get the oft-mentioned "update.zip" file from?

I used to have a Blackberry and whenever I received an email from this contracting company I do work for with a scheduled meeting it would automatically sync it with my calendar. It would ask me to accept this meeting I would hit ok then look in my calender and there it was. Is there a way to do the same thing with this phone? I am not very tech savvy so I can use all the help I can get.
I have searched some other forums but haven't found any recent/updated answers...has anyone figured out how to sync your exchange outlook tasks to any to-do list/tasks widgets?

I used that on my windows mobile phone and it synced flawlessly and effortlessly. I know there are other financial programs out there that will allow you to keep a checkbook on your phone, but I don't want the checkbook solely on the phone, I want it on the desktop too and microsoft money is already there and works great. Some of these other apps out there will sync with ms money if you download the file in this format to your sd card, hold your tongue to the top of your mouth, move the file to the computer via USB, move your tongue 90 degrees to the north, change the file format and then import it from within money. well, you get the idea. I don't want to have to do all that.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got two Corporate Exchange Accounts with which I want to be able to Sync both email and calendars with my Fascinate. My wife has the Motorola Droid 2 with Android 2.2 and it supports multiple Corporate Sync (Exchange) Accounts. (She has three exchange accounts - two part time jobs and one for personal). I bought the Fascinate, but after I got home realized it only will support one Corporate Sync account natively. I have downloaded and installed Touchdown temporarily to handle my second Exchange Account, but Touchdown also only supports one account. I'd much prefer to use the same application for both accounts so I can see my calendars overlayed.
As I understood it, Android 2.1 supported multiple exchange accounts, but I think Samsung made a decision to override that, by including an Email app on the Fascinate that only supports one account. Has anybody heard about Fascinate's Android 2.2 (Froyo) update and whether or not it will support multiple Corporate accounts? With the exception of not supporting Multiple Exchange accounts, this phone really hit it out of the park for me. Great screen, thin and light, fast, 3G Hotspot (so I can get rid of my aircard). I'm 4 days into my 30 days with Verizon. I hope we hear something about Fascinate's 2.2 update before then.
