Jun 21, 2010Work Computer: The company I work for runs Outlook/Exchange 2007. I was one-way syncing my Outlook contacts/calendar (no e-mail sync) to my phone via HotSync Manager; I believe at one time I was doing a two-way sync but there seemed to be some issues so I went the one-way sync route.
Home Computer: I'm running Outlook 2007 (no Exchange) with MS Outlook Connector so I can manage multiple Hotmail e-mail accounts within Outlook. I was one-way syncing my phone contacts/calendar to my Outlook contacts/calendar via HotSync Manager.

Feb 15, 2010It is time for a upgrade and I am thinking about going with the Samsung Moment to replace my Blackberry.
I do have a couple of questions for you Moment owners.
1) Can this phone by used as a business oriented phone (I am coming from the no non-sense blackberry)? I read this is a heck of a phone but I also read it is more a fun phone then a business phone. What is your thoughts as I am not just looking for a toy, but I am also looking for a phone that will be great for business use.
2) I heard that the Android 2.1 will be available for the Samsung Moment around Feb 22nd. My questions is, if an "update" is available for the Moment the 22nd of Feb, then when will the phone come out with the Android 2.1 pre-installed into the phone from brand new? I rather get the phone with the latest Android 2.1 already pre-installed when I purchase it.
3) What is the deal with outlook? I read somewhere that it is not really compatible with this phone as I will be using outlooks calander and would like it to show up on my phone as well.
4) What did get me to go the no non-sense blackberry route is that I used to have the Palm Treo's and with all the gadgets on those phones back in the day, there was sooooooo many software glitches that I just couldnt take it anymore. I am looking for a reliable phone that will not give me issues. Does this phone have any issues of freezing, not working correctly, or any software glitches with all this technology built in? I know the Samsung Moment had a battery issue that was supposedly resolved with the CL14 software upgrade. Any other issues that should be of concern?
5) I read everywhere about the fantastic voice quality of this phone (which is important as a business phone). But, how is the signal strength compared to other Sprint phones? I have not read much on that.
6) Also, I know the Blackberry there is a premium you have to pay above the rate you pay for your Sprint service, just to use the blackberry. What is the monthly charge that is over and above the regular sprint bill to just own the Moment? I need the internet, unlimited text, and the sprint navigation and I am on a family plan.

Jul 8, 2010I am working with a client's new samsung moment. We set it up for google apps email and Exchange sync through Moxier. All was good and well for a few days, and then the Google/gmail app stopped syncing. In All Accounts, sync, it gave the error ' sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly' We pulled the battery but still does this. I tested other apps that would verify connection - browser, Moxier, etc., fine.
Today the moxier sync for Exchange email, calendar, contacts, tasks would not sync either; just stopped. Again, pulling the battery didn't unstick this.
I am used to the Microsoft phones where this plus a soft reset cured things for a few days. Please advise on a methodology to diagnose.

Jan 26, 2010I've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?

The biggest concern I have is how fast will the Moment be rooted. Feb 18, 2010I am a Sprint customer looking for an Android phone for basic functions. I am trying to choose between the Hero and the Moment. I have 1 of each right now from Sprint, on the 30 day trial. Here are the challenges I find with each. Does anyone know of any fixes for these?
Hero
1) Phone hangs up during calls because of lack of proximity sensor
2) Speaker phone wont turn off once activated, unless I end the call
3) Vibration mode is very weak and basically useless. Cant feel it in my pocket
4) Sprint Navigation does not work
Moment
1) Battery runs out before end of day
2) Bluetooth is spotty and wont always connect
3) Web navigation not as smooth as Hero.

I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account.Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. Oct 8, 2010My Moment has been having trouble re-establishing a working data connection when I run Juicedefender or even put it into airplane mode and then take it out to save battery while in a thick-walled building. The EV/1x icon just won't come back. This is also an issue because the phone frequently does not do a periodic sync when I leave JD running during the day.
