Samsung Galaxy S :: 3G Setting/network
Jul 30, 2010I bought my Galaxy recently. It happened I believe while using a couple of apps I downloaded called :
TOGGLE DATA and APNdroid. I wanted to use the function that would allow me to have an icon to turn on and off my 3G network. But something happened, and now I cant seem to know where to turn on 3G internet. WiFi still works fine but I cant seem to find where to get 3G activated? I have since deleted those 2 apps for the time being until I get my connection back.
Android :: Possible To Force Network Traffic Through Wi-Fi Or TMobile Network?
Mar 2, 2009I'm wondering if, with the G1, it's possible to force the network traffic to pass through the Wifi or through the Cell GSM network. I need to force an application to connect through the tower network to get some login information. Is this possible? Anyone have any ideas as to how this would be possible? I'm trying to accomplish this inside an app with the Android SDK (Sorry I wasn't more clear about that originally)

Oct 30, 2013i have a Tmobile Samsung Galaxy s2. Okay my issue is that my phone gets into safe mode 90 percent of the time i turn it on for the past two days.I power it on and its in safe mode. If I do a reset by clicking power button and and press restart, it doesn't resolve problem. if i click power button press reset and hold the button lower left bottom of phone while it reset, problem goes away, the safe mode is gone.
it keeps coming back to safe mode. I tried to do a virus scan with avg antivirus and it detected two bad apps,

Jun 5, 2010I just pre-ordered mine from the UK and I was wondering if I will able to use it on Tmobile's 3g in the US. I am so confused about all the frequencies! I would hate it if I have to stick with using EDGE on it. Also I did a little snooping around and it seems like the galaxy S will be coming to the US later this year...on all 4 major carriers? So is it correct to assume that the phone will work on Tmobile 3g or are they going to sell different carrier exclusive models so that it will work on each individual network?

Dec 17, 2009Serious issue here with my galaxy. I was coming back to Denmark from Sweden yesterday and my phone was working fine on roaming all this time. As my train crosses to Denmark, I lose the network, and very much since then have not been able to get it back. If I manually go into search for networks, it will take a minute or so and sometimes finally find some networks.
If I choose my home network, it will try for 2-3 minutes and fail 90% of the time and sometimes succeed.
That is act as if I was connected with 4 bars, but still, when I send myself an SMS from another phone, or try to call, nothing comes up. I know it is not the SIM, or the provider, as I have switched SIMs with another phone and the SIM works on the other phone, just like the other phone's SIM doesn't work on my galaxy. I am running Galaxo1.1, but as I said this problem started occurring without my even handling the phone at that time.

Apr 8, 2010At least it looks like that to me. Many have reported it can be cured with disabling Network Location, then it was the basebands that could help, then it looked like the problem is in USB charging. Well my no sleep is a unique one and I dare to say it has nothing to do with anything and it's total luck. My Galaxy goes into no sleep as soon as I receive a call. JC6+galaxo. First it was with JC6 baseband as I said in the JC6 thread. Then I flashed II5 baseband and it worked great. It was fast, WPA Ent worked. But off course, I received a call and it went into no sleep again. No network location, no USB plugging in, looks like it is triggered by unique things. I'm officially tired of this piece of junk. I'm going back to my II5 nandroid backup. And I was so happy with JC6. Damn you Samsung. If this isn't resolved in one month I'm spending money and getting a Hero. (cheap enough, and at least it has tons of 2.1 firmwares).

Oct 13, 2010I just recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy GT-17500L (its a Bell Canada phone). After purchasing the phone (which was originally unlocked) I bought a Solo mobile sim-card, which was needed in order to use the phone on my Solo monthly plan. Everything was working fine until I decided to try and update the firmware from 1.5 to 1.6; unfortunately, like a few others from Canada, I didn't properly read the guide and after the upgrade, the phone was "re-locked" and wasn't accepting my sim-card. After going through the guide posted on Pg.4 here (Bell Canada users and Brazilian Users - Galaxy 7500L (notice the L)), with the help of Rasta-Man FB posts and others, I was able to get my phone back to the original firmware, but now I'm having reception issues. The phone will at times pick up the Solo Netowork (I'm still using the original solo sim card), but then drop it after 10 minutes and just say there is no service. When I search for networks, it recognizes the Solo one (I'm guessing b/c of the S.C) but it isn't able to connect.

Jul 12, 2010I was originally going to get either the HTC Hero or Motorola Droid but found out they are both CMDA. and the Milestone is out of my budget. People have been suggesting to get the Samsung Galaxy S, that's also out of my budget and looks too much like an iPhone. So i stumbled upon these two phones.I'm leaning more towards the Spica because it has superior battery life, and 800mhz compared to the 528mhz the i7500 has. and it can also play DivX.What's making it a difficult decision is the i7500 has an AMOLED Screen. It can display 16,777,216 Colors while the Spica can only display 65,536 Colors I'm not too sure if that will make a difference. Also it has 5mp w/LED Flash while Spica is only 3.2.One phone has a little of both. This will be my first Android phone I'm coming from a Sony Ericsson W995.

May 25, 2010i think my gt-i7500 is bricked. i downloaded the 1.6 firmware(.tar) along with ODIN.. set up the downloading mode and used ODIN to flash it to 1.6. ODIN showed PASS in the window but the phone refuses to boot up. It remains frozen with the SAMSUNG sign. Recovery mode is not working either.
