I have the new EVO. Unfortunately one of my friends entered my pattern wrong too many times so it locked and is now asking for my gmail account. Problem is I forgot my gmail account...I know I can take it and get it reflashed and lose all data but I'm really not into that. tricks to get my email or just bypass the lock?

Just brought a I9000 yesterday and have already forgotten my pattern code and never set up a gmail account, tried all the hard reset keys but doesn't work. Has anyone figured it out how to hard reset it properly or update the firmware without kies? As kies doesn't detect my phone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently installed cyanogenmod with CWM recovery (on a Nexus 7) and decided to try one of the largest grids for the lock screen security. Needless to say it was soon forgotten. I've tried the gmail reset but it says the details are incorrect even though I can sign in with them on my PC. My guess is that it can't connect to gmail for authentication due to the firewall I'm using.

I could not remember it and after several tries I decided to hit the "forgot password." It asked for my gmail account, and I do not remember creating one, after many tries, I gave up. Sure I usually use the same basic email address that are about the same if not exactly the same but.. I lost my original phone never sent an email and I cant remember what it was now to put it in my new replacement phone so I can get all my contacts back. I never put in an alternate email so I cant send it that way and I tired everything I can think of. I also called verizon to see if they might have it on file and they said no. The trouble being he has no idea what his Google account details are. He knows neither his email address or his password. He's never sent an email from his Gmail and never set up an emergency email account for recovery purposes. I've scoured the Internet for a solution but if all you have is your phone number, there doesn't seem to be any way to reinstate your account. His phone isn't rooted as he's not that kind of user. We recently purchased the Moment for my daughter, she has had the phone for 2 days. It seems she does not remember the lock pattern and we have not signed up yet for a gmail account. We have tried holding the left and center button then holding the right after a battery pull but when the progress bar comes up(grey) it goes a little over halfway then stops, it never finishes. I have done a search and came up with nothing else. She has 2.1 if that helps.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI unfortunately didn't write down my PIN and apparently have forgotten it on my Nexus 7. I did not get the "Forgot PIN?" prompt, or did not notice it the at the 5th or 10th attempt point. It just says to wait 30 seconds.
Is there any way in my Google account to reset the PIN or remove it? It seems if Google lets you do it from the device through your Google account, you should be able to do it from your Google account.
Droid X - Configured with a Google Apps Premiere, working great. Attempting to add a personal GMail account. Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

I don't let other people borrow it, and don't leave it out at work. I also do not have any of my email except correspondence, and no financial information or online shopping.
I now have lock screen shortcuts so I get tired of having to enter my pin each time to use the shortcuts.

Yesterday I swiped my unlock pattern wrong to many times and now I have a screen saying that I should type in my google account username and password to unlock it.
I'v done this 100 times now with the correct username and password but it does not open my Hero. It is like it dosen't tjeck it online....
So now I have a locked Hero that can't do anything, How can I unlock it?
Anyone else notice the pattern screen lock is completely bypassed by just popping the keyboard out.
