I have a problem on ICS , when I want to setup a VPN connection I must use a pattern or pin for lock screen . Is there any way to use vpn with out setting any pattern or pin for lock screen ?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace which recently went on Gingerbread.
Now, I have been trying to set up my Yahoo email on the phone. If I go to "Email"; I get an option to only download emails from Inbox, Drafts and Sent Items.
I have created a lot of folders in the email account so I'd like to have those on the phone as well. How do I do that.
I would rather prefer not using the Yahoo Mail App as that is very slow.
I'm in the process of switching from an iPhone 4 to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus purchased direct from Google. I wish to setup my Yahoo account, but I've run into a problem. I can receive and send emails without problems, but I can't find a feature to automatically bcc messages back to myself. I do this so that I can synchronize Sent messages with my PC. Is this feature missing in Android V4.1 or am I just not seeing it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy 7 year old, 5year old & 3 & 1/2 year old are able to do terrible things to my phone & computers! I hope I am one of many frustrated & forlorn parents who have great kids that are obviously a rung or 3 up the evolutionary ladder! Perhaps we should start a support group! LMAO I am new to android & so far I love it, so much that you can do on this platform & as i am a lateral thinker it is so much fun being able to get apps that seem to allow my though processes & not miss a beat, what a delight. NOt too impressed with the pattern lock at the moment though but I am hopeful of finding a solution there or admiring my Very expensive paper weight that might have been so much fun!! I am currently very tentative about all the programming stuff but I guess in time & with help from all the learned folk out there I will be able to have the best & most productive tool completely customized for me that I could imagine. Do let me know if I am deluded as it would save me much heart ache, Hope to be educated well here so thanks in advance for your patience & assistance!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have forgotten my unlock pattern and was prompted an error message, "Too many pattern attempts"....to unlock, sign in with you Google Account. Here's the issue, I have tried to log in many times and it won't allow me. I have no issues logging into Gmail on my home computer. I changed my password on Gmail and re-logged on my cell and no success. I tried to do a hard reset holding home button, up volume, and pressing the power button until the Samsung logo appears. I also tried to call my phone and access the memo pad so at least I can get to my home screen.no success.Any suggestions? I think my phone has a bug and it probably needs to be sent out..

I came from a blackberry and of course I was used to unlocking my phone with a PIN instead of the pattern (1st android owned) that this phone has. I was wondering if there is a way to have that option in my SF. I hate the pattern, I checked out the market and there is an app for that but the reviews were horrible. If this is even possible on this phone yet or I have to wait on the upcoming 2.2 update and yes my phone is not rooted.

I have my background in the phone set to what I like... and I like that i see it/them when using the normal swipe unlock. they are not always what you would call appropriate. I already have and use the "LockPattern OnOff" app for situations like work where i don't want anyone getting into my phone, but it still shows my backgrounds there as well.... which could be a bit of an issue depending on who picks it up.. Is there any way anyone knows of to have the background different for the pattern lock screen but not change the normal lock screen?

Anyways i did this to the point where it required a google id login. So i sigh and attempt to login, does not work, i try 10 more times before i find out that this is an ongoing android problem. I do a hard reset, still doesnt work. Now 5 hours later im pissed beyond belief wondering why google put so much effort into a dumb pattern lock and why it still does not work after a full restore.

S2 i777...a friend of mine bought it for me from us and i unlocked it using the code purchased from ebay..my problem is that i rooted my device to remove bloatware from the device and accidently removed samsung stock weather app(accuweather)completely..after that i unrooted my phone to stock stage as it was at the time my friend bought it but the weather app is no where to be found on my device....i tried to find for a solution to reinstall that app..i found the apk from here but when i try to install it gives me an error "Application not installed".

I would like to remove the text "Verizon Wireless" from my pattern lock screen and replace it with my name.
When I rooted my HTC Eris and loaded KoasFroyo I encountered a similar situation where that ROM made it say Team AndIRC. I was able to do what I wanted by replacing eri.xml.
When I try to use ADB to push that same eri.xml file to my Fascinate I get an access denied error. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Any guidance would be appreciated. Since the phone is locked I want my name available on the front in case it is ever lost.
This was pointed out earlier by someone on a thread and I couldn't seem to find it. But just to point it out again the moment can be turned off or put on airplane mode even while its locked. This may be a bad thing if someone steals your phone and you want to use someones phone to either call or text it so that it will ring to find out who has it. All the thief has to do is put it on airplane mode or turn it off to deactivate ringers, sound, and gps.
Is there an app or option where I can use a passcode to unlock the phone rather than the pattern?And is there a way to track my phone through gps just in case it's lost or stolen?Any ideas or suggestions if a device someone rely relies on a lot is lost or stolen? My friend on his moment was able to add a message on the home screen saying "If found please contact "phone number" "email" and will be given a "$300" reward.

I currently have my display set to time out after one minute. When I'm using the music player is there anyway to prevent the screen from locking. I have having to unlock it to switch tracks.
As a side, is there a way to change the locking system from a sliding pattern to a number code?
Samsung should stop promoting the Galaxy Tab and fix the Galaxy S phones.Tab is running 2.2 and most likely has a fixed GPS.While the rest of us who paid for a product still have not gotten our money's worth.

Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
