I'm on T-Mobile UK and can't seem to send an MMS when I only have 2g signal.Once i hit send there is a small circle timer that just spins and spins forever.If I do it with a 3g signal it goes very quickly and the other person gets it.Is it not possible to send an MMS with only a 2g signal?

I want to reach out to others here before I take my Moment back to Best Buy to exchange it for another Moment.
My signal strength fluctuates wildly just sitting in the same spot. With the Hero I got a constant 5 of 6 bars, but the Moment will vary between 0 and 5 of 6 bars. But it's more complicated than that.
It seems that whenever the EVDO data kicks in, it causes the signal strength to drop to 0 or 1 bar. Once the data is idle, the EVDO indicator turns grey and then changes from EV(^v) to EV(D). At that point the single strength will return to 3 or 4 bars.
At times, though not as consistently or often, the EVDO connection will fall back to 1xRTT and will switch between them every few minutes. This will occur even when the signal strength bars are in the 3 to 4 range.
So, the my questions are...
Does the signal strength apply to the data signal or just the voice signal?
Is there any legitimate reason for the signal strength to vary wildly like I've described, even when sitting in the same recliner where the Hero had a constant 5 bar connection and data service that never wavered?
Is anyone else having signal strength and/or data service issues?
Should I exchange the Moment for another Moment or will I likely experience the same issue?
I am on Orange really have a poor 3g signal on my galaxy s. But If i switch the phone off and then on again, the signal returns!

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone else has seen this issue. I have some Altec Lansing Backbeat (903) bluetooth headphones that I use with my Galaxy S. Very nice, decent quality, signal doesn't drop much, etc. Generally very pleased. My phone is however now being a pain with them....
Previously turning the headphones on, with the bluetooth already enabled would cause them to connect automatically. If i didn't have bluetooth turned on i'd have to manually connect from the bluetooth settings once I had enabled it. So far so good.
About a week ago my phone started 'forgetting' the headphones. This means almost every time I want to use them I have to pair them again. A huge pain. Even when the phone hasn't forgotten them they don't connect automagically, meaning I still end up in the settings menu. Any thoughts?
I have recently bought the Samsung Galaxy s2 SGH-i727. I used to have a Samsung Galaxy s1. I have my 3G SIM in my Galaxy s2 now and its a 4G phone...will that affect it? Plus i have tried a million different APNs to see if that would work, and it hasnt. Im able to send/recieve text messages, but i cant get MMS. I also use AT&T GoPhone as my carrier, but i didnt have this problem with my S1...
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis behaviour started some 2-3 weeks ago. I tried to analize what have I installed and only thing that looked like doing this was Wavesecure so I unistalled it (I had it blocked via autostarts anyway). But it didn't stop.
I'm actually not sure if it really sends any SMS. When I power on the phone and enter the PIN it shows me a "bubble" popup saying "Sending". None of my contacts reported receiving any SMS. I even tried to block "Messaging" from running at startup. Now it stoped but as soon as I start Handcent it shows the "Sedning" again. I tried to find any drafts that I may have left behind but I couldn't find any. Is there any solution to this? Handcent isn't the problem since I had it for almost 2 months without any issues.
I'm running II5, rooted.
I own the i9000 about a week nowI noticed that the wifi reception is very bad compared with my iPhone 3GS(even in my house i have one bar;and i have to stick the phone to the router D-LINK to have full bars)I want to know is it "normal" is it an individual problem or all the devices had the same issue ?Is it related to hardware or software bug ?Can this problem be solved with Froyo ?

With my Nokias, the phone would send it fairly quickly (usually within 10-15 minutes).
The message is still sat in Handcent with the whirling round icon next to it. If I copy the message, and resend it, whilst there's a signal, away it goes. I can't find any way to force the send when I want, and I left the resend in a signal area for 1hr 15 mins and it still hadn't sent..

Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
I have a friend who is added to my Desire's contact list.
1. He is on my Facebook contact. (His facebook pic appears in my Desire contact list)
2. He is my Gmail contact as well.
3. He is added as a 'Phone Contact' as well.
I sent him a text few days ago but don't remember if it was using facebook or my phone (network provider sms) but now when I go in to 'Messages' and send him a message, I just can't figure out if I am sending him a message via Facebook or to his mobile number.
I can get a few minutes of 4G signal at my home per day, but when it drops out and 3G takes over, the signal will flatline and boot me offline. My 3G speeds are usually around 56-150Kbps or less, and my 4G speeds are around 2.5 Mbps What would cause this ? According to WiMax location sites online, my nearest 4G tower is .52 mile away. I would think that if I actually get 4G signal, then 3G would be constant. Turning off 4G doesn't help either. Is there some setting that I could have turned off that would cause this ? View 9 Replies View RelatedI believe there is a bug in the signal strength indication on the Fascinate, the one that shows the signal strength in -dBm. You can see the signal strength of the cell signal on the Menu, Settings, About, Status screen. Or you can place a widget on your Home screen. There are several widgets available, I'm using Mobile Signal Widget.I have a network extender, which basically creates a cell tower right in your home. With my Motorola Droid, I used to get signal strengths down to about -50 something and 60's in indicated signal strength. I can hold both of our Fascinates right next to the network extender's antenna and they will read no better than -86 dBm. So far I've seen signal strengths from -86 dBm to -106 dBm (terrible).I believe there is a bug in the software (Baseband) on the Fascinate. Previously, I thought the hardware (antenna/radio) wasn't very good, but now it may be software related. Has anyone seen a signal strength stronger than -86 dBm on the Fascinate?

I get 0 to 1 bar on my moment and she get 1-2 bars. A few times it is searching for service and this is all at my home which sucks cause i cant make calls or talk on the phone long before it drops. Is there anything out there to help improve this that isnt to costly? I know Sr print has the air wave thing but that is a monthly fee. I'm not gonna pay to improve my signal every month on top of my service already. What im looking for is maybe an antenna that i could stick somewhere to help boost it enough to keep me from searching for service.
View 13 Replies View RelatedMy samsung vibrant signal has been fluctuating and so i decided to insert an external antenna to the port in the back. The signal is perfect when the external antenna is connected but now the phone does not detect any mobile signal without the antenna, at all. If I unplug the antenna, the phone loses any connection it has. Whats going on and how do i fix it?! I bought this brand new from third party so taking it to T-mobile will not be possible, i think.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few minutes ago my signal just showed no service for the second time. It was totally random, just like the last time and I don't think it's an AT&T problem because I was stationary in my house, where I've never seen this happen on my past devices. (Happened a few times on the iphone, but it only showed searching for about a second, then it came right back). On the Captivate it will show no service and won't come back until I reboot the phone. I'm not in a fringe service area (usually have 3 bars of 3g). Has anyone seen this happen on theirs? I'm trying really hard not to return it, but some of the bugs are getting pretty annoying.
I'm going to install CT Scheduler and run a reboot every morning. If it happens again, it may be going back...
Does anyone have any way to turn off the annoying beep the phone makes when it loses it's signal? I know changing the notification volume works, but that will also turn off my system and text notifications. Is there any way to target just the signal beep?
