I have a big problem with my Galaxy S immediately after upgrading to the JPM/Froyo firmware. Immediately after the update the phone attempted to reboot, and now stays on the Galaxy S logo way too long before the screen goes blank and only the bottom two buttons are illuminated. And it just stays like that. I have a feeling that it might have something to do with the OneClickLagFix that was installed on the phone; maybe the upgrade didn't like the lag fix being there. Also, on pressing VolumeDn, Home and Power to get the recovery screen, the screen is replaced with a yellow "Downloading. Do not turn off Target!!!" splash. So there are no recovery options.

I have a Vibrant. The issue all started when I tried to install the 1.2ghz OC rom onto my phone. I had rommanager installed, and attempted to run it off the SD card, but when my phone booted up it had lost my applications, everything.
The problem I'm running into now is that the phone seems to be unable to use its mass storage. Every time I attempt to reinstall an application from the market it says it doesn't have enough memory. Under settings it says "unavailable" for the internal mass storage.
I tried using the volume buttons and power button to enter recovery/dl mode but every time I do I cannot make selections. If I use the power button to try to select it does nothing. In fact the "up" volume button makes it go down, and the other "down" button also doesn't do anything.
Since I have no applications I can't use clockwork recovery, even though I know I have one. Also, Odin is unable to connect to the phone, so I can't reload factory. Kies also doesn't recognize the phone.
It also won't even recognize the SIM card, says it has no reception when it clearly does.
I got one of the new vibrants that won't boot into recovery. Only the batches before august allow you to getting into recovery by holding vol up and down. I confirmed with t mobile that this a true statement, so i need another way in but cant figures it out i tried adb but it wont work either.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried flashing my Galaxy S, but when i turned it on, it stayed on the boot menu for 10 minutes and nothing happened, so i had to remove the battery. I tired putting it in download mode and it didnt work eiter. When i plugged in the usb, it showed the charging icon with the loading sign, however the loading sign did not go away, again I had to remove the battery. What is wrong with my Galaxy S, and what can I do to fix it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a bricked Samsung Galaxy S2 and have been doing some research on how to fix this. There is a lot of info online, but I don't understand most of it as it is too technical and I need having it translated into layman's terms!
Context:
- Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100)
- Unlocked
- Purchased from Kogan 2 years ago (no longer under warranty)
- Appears to be Polish stock based on the packaging and manual
- I am in Australia
Problem:
- Phone is stuck in boot loop, unable to get past the intro flash screen that says Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I19100.
- It keeps resetting itself and going back to flash screen infinitely. I need to remove the battery in order for it to stop doing that.
- I'm unable to get into the mode that would allow me to do a factory reset, however I am able to get into download mode.
What I think I need to do, but need verifying:
- Download Odin onto my PC. (I think Odin is software that allows me to access the core of the phone via my PC, is this correct?)
- Download the correct version of the operating system. From what I can gather, there are different versions depending upon which network you are with. Because my phone is unlocked, I need to get an unlocked version but I'm not sure whether I should get one designed for Australia or for Poland (or whether it matters)?
- Connect PC and phone via USB cable
- Turn on Odin
- Somehow use Odin to reinstall O/S on my phone
Questions:
- Are the steps above correct or am I missing something?
- Does it matter which version of Odin I install or can I just do a google search for Odin downloads?
- Where do I find the file I need to reinstall the O/S?
- Where can I find instructions on how to use Odin once I have the correct file to install?
i was trying to update my SGS2 to ICS by myself using Odin, but something went wrong and now i can not get the phone start at all . and i get an icon for a phone and a PC and a warring triangle to show me that the connection is lost
View 6 Replies View Relatedi bought a white Samsung galaxy tab 4 7.0 8gb white from Canada and i decided to turn ART on so i did and the tab was stuck on the boot animation for over 30 minutes. So i went into recovery and deleted cache and data. It booted up fine and i was relieved. Before i did anything on it i turned on ART again and it boot looped again, stuck at the boot animation. This happens every time i turn ART on this tablet. No i am not rooted and i don't have any custom ROM, kernels, or recoveries on this tablet. try turning on ART on their galaxy tab 4 7.0 and see if ART works?
View 9 Replies View Relatedi've been scouring all over to find a way to change the boot animation for the latest nightly of GAOSP, or for any Galaxy ROM for that matter. i've gotten a few apps from the Market, but aren't completely sold on their custom animations. since most of the custom animations i like are for other devices, what do i need to alter in the desc.txt file in order to get them to work? can i just download any zip that i do find that i like and just replace the file and reflash the GAOSP ROM?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI dropped my Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G from a height of about 3 feet onto a marble floor. The battery popped out, but there is no physical damage as far as I can see. The phone automatically went into a reboot loop, by which I mean it flashes the "samsung" logo again and again. It doesn't turn on or off. After removing the battery and sim card several times to no avail, I searched some of these forums and found the 3 key combination (volume/power/home) which can be used to get a factory reset. Now, I have gotten that factory reset screen where I can scroll using the volume key, but my phone stays on that screen for about 4 seconds before reverting back to flashing "samsung." This is where I stand as of now.

will i need to replace the battery?
I have messed up big time! I rooted my phone perfectly fine and everything. But when I tried to install a new ICS rom and rebooted, my phone showed the samsung logo followed by a screeching frequency noise, followed by a restart. This process continues forever. I really hope I didn't break my phone.. I can access the CWM btw.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a ~1.5 year old Samsung Galaxy S3 (North American) rooted, with Cyanogenmod 11 installed.
Ever since installing CM11, my phone has been restarting itself with some regularity.
Today, with over half the battery left, the phone seemingly turned itself off. I do not believe this is an issue with the cyanogenmod OS and I also don't believe the issue is related to the restarting I've been experiencing. These restarts, in the vast majority of occasions, started with a brief freeze, then screen turning off, before the phone automatically starting up again. However, this time, the phone did not freeze before the screen went black, and the phone did not restart itself. I repeatedly tried pressing the power button to unlock, and when that didn't work, I tried long-pressing to either turn the phone off or back on. When that also failed to work, I pulled the battery, and put it back in. The Samsung logo came up, and then the Galaxy S3 logo with the Cyanogenmod logo came up, then the screen went black again.
And this is where I'm at currently. After the screen goes black, I can't get it to come back on. Long pressing the power button does not turn it back on. Only when I pull the battery and put it back in, does the boot process start. Every time, during the first few seconds of the boot process, the phone turns itself off. Sometimes it only lasts until the Samsung logo, sometimes to the GS3/CM logo.
If I plug the phone in, with the battery inserted, I briefly see a battery on the screen, but again, the phone shuts down.
If I plug the phone in, with the battery out, the LED turns red, the phone vibrates, but nothing happens, and the LED goes out.
I've read about power buttons getting stuck, but this doesn't seem to be the issues since my phone does not go into a boot loop sequence.
I've tried leaving the battery out for an hour or so, but there is no change.
I've also tried pressing power+home+vol down and power+home+vol up, and they seem to work, until again, the phone shuts off. So one of these combinations leads me to warnings about changing OS before shutting down after about the same number of seconds, and the other leads me to the boot logo with the blue text on the top left corner before shutting down.
To me, this doesn't seem to be an issue with software, but with the phone staying powered..somehow.
I think it's time I turn to the forums with this issue if I'm ever gonna get GAOSP fully working on my device.BEHAVIOR: The two latest Nightlys I've flashed have given me a 3g-symbol and working connection on either the first boot (without gapps installed) or the second, after installing gapps. The problem is that over consecutive reboots (to change themes, settings, just to try etc.) the 3g-data rarely returns. I have been rebooting the device for 20 times in a row without getting it to connect to 3g-data. Using the *#*#INFO#*#*-menu and "enable data connection" doesn't work. Changing to WCDMA-band only may help with frequency of working reboots, but it's hard to tell. Some times (on some combinations of ROM/baseband) switching airplane-mode on/off has worked.
OBSERVATIONS: What I have observed is happening is that whenever 3g-data isn't working, the APN-list i empty. If I create a new APN it will not show after I have pressed save. If I reboot until i get 3g-data again, the new APN will show up together with the original ones. I've had this problem occur with many different ROMs from what I can remember, but to vastly varying extents.
There seems to be some connection to baseband too, because even on galaxo 1.6.3.4 I've had lots of problem with anything newer than II5, or even newer than IH8 to be completely stable, until I used jakax 3g-fix: Fix 3G/UMTS network interruptions with donut and JC6 AMSS. Since then I have been using JC6 with Galaxo 1.6.3.4 and only losing 3g-data on 1 of 5 reboots or so. jakax's fix Isn't for this problem though, so I've no idea why it helps!?I've heard some others having similar problems, but most seem to have been solved in some update or they sold their devices or something, because no thread has come to any solution really. My device was one of the first and bought from Germany and is being used in Sweden, could this affect it it any way? I have seen some threads of problems with android APNs disappearing when certain MNC-numbers are entered, but I never found any explanation or solution there either.
So this morning i was installing kies onto my laptop so that I could transfer some videos and photos from my galaxy to my computer from my friends birthday. it didnt work and (kept saying the device connected to my usb port has malfunctioned on my computer) so i restarted and phone thinking it just needed a reboot and now it wont go past the S loading screen.
Is there anyway I can get into the phone and get the videos and photos from it? They are from a friends birthday and they're very important because they moved away! any help would be greatly appreciated.
what Ive tried several times already is removing the battery and restarting and no go. Ive turned the phone onto samsung recovery mode and it says:

Samsung Galaxy 7.0 plus (gt-p6210) will not boot. It hangs at the Samsung banner. The banner is still glowing but it goes nowhere.
I have tried everything.

b. System wipe.
c. Removed add on sim and repeated above.
I have a rooted ICS (original install via Kies).
I bought this phone whilst on a business trip In Shenzhen china.
It's was running 4.2.9 jb. 2gb ram 16gb rom 5" screen 1080p
I put 3d chain fire on it and now it's stuck in the boot animation.
I borrowed my friend phone, same as mine and loaded up mtk droid and it generated a backup of his phone with loads of files system folder, boot.img etc
It then packed it up into a zip file. From there I thought I could put the zip file on an sd card and boot into recovery and delete the data / cache and them select install from sd card. But the installation failed

When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. Background: I have been trying to root my phone from information found in a youtube video. All went well and the little ninja bloke with the sniper rifle was in the app list. Tried installing busybox and was told that the phone was not rooted..
I think I ran the root application again and at some point I started getting this error message when in recovery. I have since run the one click root method to unroot the phone and the little nija dude is no longer there. Since I rooted the phone it will no longer connect to my wireless network, it finds the network and attempts to obtain an ip address. After a few min it times out and tries again. When I load the phone recovery the error message is still present.
