I have messed up big time! I rooted my phone perfectly fine and everything. But when I tried to install a new ICS rom and rebooted, my phone showed the samsung logo followed by a screeching frequency noise, followed by a restart. This process continues forever. I really hope I didn't break my phone.. I can access the CWM btw.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been through pages of forum posts about shutting off automatically updating aps and almost all seem to suggest rooting. I know nothing about such things and really don't feel like risking my phone, new Galaxy Note, to my ineptitude. I've read and re-read the manual too. Yes, I'm sure the answer is probably on here but I couldn't find it, or maybe it went over my head. The problem is I've been watching my data usage and tracked down the extraordinary usage to a slew of aps, all undeleteable and pre-installed by AT&T/Google. I don't want to delete the programs because I may want them at some point, but they're running and updating in the background and using megs. I shut them off within a setting menu and many of them came back later. Most of these aps are things I never even opened. Is there any way to keep these aps from running until *I* want them to?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung Stratosphere turned itself off sometime and now is rebooting to the Samsung logo, and then turning back off, and rebooting (a couple times earlier it booted to the main android menu, but turned back off immediately afterwards) and when I plugged it into the charger it acts like it's charging and then turns off and acts like it's charging and over and over again, even when the battery indicates that it's at more than half full.
(No custom ROMs or anything, it's all standard btw). I took the battery out and everything and it still does the same thing when I put it back. I tried to do a factory reset, but the recovery mode screen always jumps away when I try to activate it (I press both Vol+ and Vol-, recovery mode screen comes up but goes instantly, then the phone goes into a boot loop again).
I have a galaxy note i717 and it was unplugged while an automated unrooting program (kingo android root) was running. Now the phone is stuck at the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue" screen, and Kies won't connect to the phone.
Is there anything I can do to get the phone working again?

Since yesterday, i have been just been stuck on the Boot Loop.
I dont mind, unRooting and then rooting again, however i would like to backup my internal storage, is there anyway i can do this?
I haven't had any screen issues in the past, but today my tablet randomly decided to go totally black on me. I looked online and some posts mentioned to check if the screen was actually off, or just stuck at 0% brightness. So I got a flashlight and it turned out that I could see the screen in the light of the flashlight, very faintly. I tried to manually change the brightness setting, but that didn't do anything. I tried to go into 'power saver settings', but the 'screen brightness' power saver setting is stuck on and won't uncheck. Restarting doesn't fix it. Plugging it in to the computer or an outlet doesn't fix it.
I haven't downloaded any applications that override the screen brightness.
I'm using the Galaxy Note 10.1 (not the 2014 version).
I have bought a HDC Galaxy Note 3 N9006 1:1 Quad Core model.
The specs are:
MTK6582 Quad cores 1.3GHz Cortex A9+SGX544 GPU
Ram : 1GB
Rom : 4GB(Support TF Card up to32GB)
First of all, the biggest problem is the battery life.. The phone is on for about 1 up to 2 hours of semi-heavy usage. The screen brightness is set to the lowest one and still the battery life is really low. I dont know whether this is a software fault or the chinese battery is simply crap, so i dont know if there is any point in buying a genuine Samsung Galaxy Note 3 battery.
Secondly, i have an error on some of my apps saying that "Google services that some of your apps rely on, is not supported by your device.. ( screenshot included)" how to fix this problem on this HDC model?
Thirdly for some reason i keep on getting a message about roaming, ( i cant see the message fully, screenshot included) and i have to register my network again for it to disappear for a short period of time and then i have to repeat the same process again.
Lastly, i cannot update my youtube application and i get an error saying that i need to uninstall the previous version of the app. But the problem is that it wont let me delete the previous version.
I was following instructions to flash the Criskelo v7 rom on my Galaxy Note N7000
First time with Android rooting ...... it told me to flash Abyss Kernel and after this do a wipe . Abyss did not load right and i did wipe

Now the phone does not go back to CWM recovery and can only go into download mode . I have downloaded ODIN 1.85
Also before doing all this i have created a Nandroid back up with CWM.
I have noticed that after the last update, my touch screen doesn't work for a few seconds on random occasions and then works again after about 3 or 4 seconds. when I'm reading a book and they're about to reveal the mystery or enthusiastically playing a game and it stops working, I get increasingly frustrated that I can't turn the page or that I lost the game because during the last few seconds my touchscreen decided to temporarily stop working.. I just want to make sure there's not something wrong internally.

This morning, the screen completely got filled with blue/white/messed up color, and then went completely black. Touchscreen still worked though because I was able to maneuver around the phone right after it was dropped. Screen was not cracked. does the screen has to be replaced as well or i can replace it with smaller parts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo this morning i was installing kies onto my laptop so that I could transfer some videos and photos from my galaxy to my computer from my friends birthday. it didnt work and (kept saying the device connected to my usb port has malfunctioned on my computer) so i restarted and phone thinking it just needed a reboot and now it wont go past the S loading screen.
Is there anyway I can get into the phone and get the videos and photos from it? They are from a friends birthday and they're very important because they moved away! any help would be greatly appreciated.

My data plan is eating me alive and I didn't know why until I finally noticed that when I am at a hot spot, my wifi never connects until my data plan is locked out.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOK so i just got this phone a few days ago and now I cant send texts or make phone calls but I can do everything else like use the internet receive texts etc. I had another issue earlier today where my phone shut off randomly and wouldnt turn back on when i knew it ha almost full battery. I took out the battery the sim and then out them back in no luck eventually i took out the s pen and it worked. A few hour later i got home and tried to send and text and no luck. Ive tried everything i cleared the Google services framework cache and text message app cache Ive tried another texting app and even restored it to factory settings. still same issue. What i can do next. I'm on Verizon and bought the phone off amazon wireless.

I tried Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v31 but without effect.
I got the stock ROM for Samsung galaxy note 3 neo (SM-N7500) and changed the boot.img to have ro.secure=0 in default.prop. but I am not able to get the root permission on the device.

I have not seen any guides on Youtube or online yet that show guides on rooting a certain unlocked phone. I want to root it as soon as it is possible to root it safely. Now on my home computer I have a shared folder with all our digital photos. what I want to do is access these photos on the Note and view them as a slideshow. A second computer (with Picasa) can access these pictures over the home network and run a slideshow. I want something similar on the Note - is this possible? I know i can access network drives with, for example, ES File Explorer, but how can I view the photos in a folder (and subfolders) as a slideshow?

I have SUPER SU, titanium backup, and ROM manager. I understand that all rooted phones must have a SU to grant apps access to the software. As for titanium backup, I have deleted bloatware and backed up and verified all of my information. I also bought the pro version of titanium backup. But for the Rom manager, I'm not too sure how to use that yet. I guess Titanium is for backing up and restoring, and ROM manager is for downloading the new rom?
So you have to download it from the computer, then move to your SD card. Afterwards, the computer part is done right? How do you get the phone in the mode to put in the new rom? And do you have to wipe the stock rom first?
