I just thought I'd put up 2 pics to show you how good the night mode is. They were taken probably 10 secs apart in my room which isn't too bright (as can be seen in the first pic). The second image is with night mode on.

So i really like the clock function and the ability to use it as an alarm clock next to my bed. I set it in the mode with the quarter moon and star. What m worried about is the effect on my LCD screen. It seems to be running all night but in a dimmer mode. Is it ok to use the feature every night? Will i end up ruining my LCD a lot faster?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm having this issue with my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1). During night when I sleep sometimes it drains about 30% of my battery. Now, I noticed that in the up and download icon the upload icon is almost ALWAYS on. Meaning that it is uploading something that I did not gave any permissions for, which is rather annoying. The wifi isn't working good as well, as in not receiving messages or able to view websites, it used to work fine tho.. These kinda things are the reason why I hate Android an regret buying 2 tablets and a phone of it. Anyways before y'all mention, this is what I've done so far:
-I'm NOT running any apps on the background.
-There's no facebook or any social media apps. Just Whatsapp. (those are the only allowed for background purposes).
-I've reset the router.
-I've rebooted the Android device.
The device is NOT rooted or anything and is barely 6 months old. Additionally, I DON'T have this uploading or wifi problem with my iPad, iPhone or BlackBerry's. My other Android tablet has wifi issues as well. Also Android seems so slow and buggy..? Compared to my iPad, or Ancient BlackBerry for that matter.
When using Google Sky Map, I like to put it into Night Mode so it doesn't affect my night vision as much. Except that the Home, Menu, Back, and Search buttons seem to stay brightly lit. Aside from covering these with my hand while using the app, does anyone know if there is a way to disable this?

I am thinking about something like the GPS do, White backgrounds during the day, black at night etc etc. Any ideas on how to do this? I have lowered the brightness all the way down but that is still too bright.

I do a lot of science-type stuff (astronomy), and also photograph at night. I used a red-tinted flashlight, so as to not ruin my night vision. I would love to be able to use my phone while shooting, or doing astronomy stuff out in the dark, and not have bright white glow from the phone.
I set my phone to night time saver mode since it's appropriate but unable to find a setting to edit the time from 10-5am to 1-7am. I was able to do it with 2.1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using HTC Desire S, upgraded to RUU version Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4. This RUU version came straight from HTCDev. This RUU version doesn't support inverted mode.
Because of this difficulty, I am unable to search and find web browsers that support inverted mode. Google search will always come up with tutorials on how to turn on inverted mode in the ICS browser, which this RUU version doesn't support.
Where can I find a list of browsers that support Inverted Mode/Night Mode?I do know Dolphin Browser dropped support for Night Mode.
Im using Prestigio PAP4040 with stock android 4.0.4. on it and among other bugs i discovered one pretty nasty. Phone reboots while taking picture using night mode, without LED fash turned on. I dont know why is that so, but i tried everything to see is it the camera app, android system or just phone. So, how to diagnose where the fault is or to solve?
View 3 Replies View RelatedNight before last, I charged the battery to 100% before I went to sleep. When I was going to sleep, I unplugged it. When I woke up 7 hours later, it had only dropped 30% to 70%. I did the software upgrade, and the battery jumped back up to 80% and lasted a Long time. Well, last night, I did the same thing, and when I woke up, my battery had dropped to 50%. The phone was supposedly sleeping this whole time! A few minutes on the browser to look up the issue brought me down to 40%.
All I installed yesterday was YellowPages, WhitePages, Flikie (then uninstalled it) and LauncherPro (could this be the culprit?). Before I went to bed though, I opened GMail, and it was having trouble connecting to the server and finally gave me a "retry" button because it couldn't connect. I never pressed it and just went to sleep. WiFi, GPS, everything was off, and the screen was set to lowest brightness (which doesn't even matter here.) Why it dropped so much?
Often at night when I use phone lowest brightness is still bright so I found apps which can dim it further but then they loose screen contrast too making it difficult to read.
Is there any app which can make night mode of selected apps (browser/gtalk/gmail/other few user selectable apps) background dark & font light / white similar to youtube app?
UC browser had this night mode earlier but latest version they have removed this feature. Ideally such app should be time sensitive & as the night time approaches it should start applying the night mode.
I have helped some friends updating their SGS phones with the new software from the samsung firmwares website. However, now I'm stuck with a problem on one of the phones: It simply won't go into download mode. Normally, I press the volume down + menu key and while pressing them I push the power button. But nothing happens, excemt the phone starts up just like normal. I've done it the exact same way with all the models, but this model does not react like the rest of them. Today, I successfully updated 3 models this way, but model number 4 would not go into download mode. The model has the JM2 firmware now. The other 3 models had JM1 firmware, even though they were all purchased at the same date. Is there another way of getting the SGS into download mode?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a Galaxy S Vibrant. I've got the USB in debugging mode, I've got super-user rights. When I mount the Vibrant to my Desktop while it's booted in Ubuntu, it detects it off the bat and works fine. When I mount the Vibrant to my Dekstop while it's booted in Windows, it doesn't detect it.
Vibrant won't connect to a windows 7 x32 desktop via usb, but connects to Ubuntu just fine. The desktop has no network connection. I need to move some files, but I don't have a USB drive and it doesn't have a CD drive. It's rather barebones. So, I was hoping to use my phone.
i recently purchased samsung galaxy y...but there is no setting to put the phone to HSPA mode...it toggles in 3g(UMTS) and HSPA. is there any way to set it to HSPA permanently?

Is this correct? Cause in my previous phone, so long as I am in vibration mode, every event (call, SMS, reminder, email etc) will cause the phone to vibrate.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI started a firmware update (using Odin) and, when downloading the amss, samsung says "Bad block table read fail". a lot of times and the progress bar (on Odin) stay locked. And the update cant finish. So, I restart the mobile... but it always come with the "Downloading..." screen. I've tried the recovery mode [vol down] + [start call] + [end call] buttons, but it always go to "Downloading..." screen. I can't exit from the download mode, and the phone doesn't start any more. I've removed the battery, but the same... the "diskette logo" come with "Downloading..." all the times.
So, two questions:
1) About the "bad block" message, I think it's because I left "turned on" the USB debugging. so, I want to start the phone to turn it off again. This make sense?
2) How to get rid of this screen? How to stop the download mode?
I have a Galaxy S running stock ROM. No lag fix no custom ROM no root nothing. Just now I tried going into recovery/download mode to see what features it have by pressing the volume down+home+Power button. Now the phone says "Downloading Do not turn of target! What can I do to solve this problem. Till now I haven't tried to restart the phone? Should I do that?

Is there a setting somewhere to change that or does the internet only work in landscape? Okay my issue is that my phone gets into safe mode 90 percent of the time i turn it on for the past two days.I power it on and its in safe mode. If I do a reset by clicking power button and and press restart, it doesn't resolve problem. if i click power button press reset and hold the button lower left bottom of phone while it reset, problem goes away, the safe mode is gone.
it keeps coming back to safe mode. I tried to do a virus scan with avg antivirus and it detected two bad apps,

It detects the two internal memories, but the moment I access them; it says please insert the disk in the drive. What might be problem here? The memory shows as mounted in the phone.Also, Kies application does not appear to be working on Windows 7 64-bit. It does get installed properly, but does not detect the Galaxy S.
