Nov 10, 2009Do you know if there is a night mode on the Motorola Droid. I find the phone screen to be very bright at night. I am thinking about something like the GPS do, White backgrounds during the day, black at night etc etc. Any ideas on how to do this? I have lowered the brightness all the way down but that is still too bright.

Jul 21, 2010Night before last, I charged the battery to 100% before I went to sleep. When I was going to sleep, I unplugged it. When I woke up 7 hours later, it had only dropped 30% to 70%. I did the software upgrade, and the battery jumped back up to 80% and lasted a Long time. Well, last night, I did the same thing, and when I woke up, my battery had dropped to 50%. The phone was supposedly sleeping this whole time! A few minutes on the browser to look up the issue brought me down to 40%.
All I installed yesterday was YellowPages, WhitePages, Flikie (then uninstalled it) and LauncherPro (could this be the culprit?). Before I went to bed though, I opened GMail, and it was having trouble connecting to the server and finally gave me a "retry" button because it couldn't connect. I never pressed it and just went to sleep. WiFi, GPS, everything was off, and the screen was set to lowest brightness (which doesn't even matter here.) Why it dropped so much?

Jul 7, 2010So i really like the clock function and the ability to use it as an alarm clock next to my bed. I set it in the mode with the quarter moon and star. What m worried about is the effect on my LCD screen. It seems to be running all night but in a dimmer mode. Is it ok to use the feature every night? Will i end up ruining my LCD a lot faster?

Jan 9, 2010I was wondering if any1 could help me understand sleep mode and how when it activates, as I'm not 100% convinced when my phone screen is off its in sleep mode.As far as the battery Sticy is concerned, I've been using handcent SMS for well over a month now, as well as disabled notifications in the original SMS program. Although the original program starts in the background when I get an SMS, which I noticed today when sending a test message to myself to make sure that handcent was defualt. It doesn't display a window or any other info.I don't use bluetooth, so I leave that off, as well as GPS unless I"m using google maps or something. Wifi is also a situational thing as well. I leave the Google Sync and mobile data on almost all the time, as I luv these features of the phone. I set disabled the auto backlight and set it to a Low comfortable level. After playing with this, I noticed that the phone made to audible notification noises about 10-20 seconds after the phone shut off, but not always. Is this the phone entering sleep mode? Or is this an app, if it is I get nothing on any screen say it was when I immediately turn screen back on.

Nov 19, 2013I am using HTC Desire S, upgraded to RUU version Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4. This RUU version came straight from HTCDev. This RUU version doesn't support inverted mode.
Because of this difficulty, I am unable to search and find web browsers that support inverted mode. Google search will always come up with tutorials on how to turn on inverted mode in the ICS browser, which this RUU version doesn't support.
Where can I find a list of browsers that support Inverted Mode/Night Mode?I do know Dolphin Browser dropped support for Night Mode.
General :: Prestigio PAP4040 - Camera Crash In Night Mode
Dec 27, 2013Im using Prestigio PAP4040 with stock android 4.0.4. on it and among other bugs i discovered one pretty nasty. Phone reboots while taking picture using night mode, without LED fash turned on. I dont know why is that so, but i tried everything to see is it the camera app, android system or just phone. So, how to diagnose where the fault is or to solve?

UC browser had this night mode earlier but latest version they have removed this feature. Ideally such app should be time sensitive & as the night time approaches it should start applying the night mode.

Jul 22, 2010Coming from a BB it was easy to shut up notifications for messaging at night. I need to have the phone active but the notification tone from emails is driving me towards throwing this phone away. Another option would be turning off notification tone all together. Jul 21, 2010I really enjoy this phone, but unfortunately I keep running into odd battery issues. I fully charged the phone while sleeping last night and now the phone is down to 40% with almost no usage (10 hours). I checked the battery manager and it said the display has used 94% of the battery which is extremely odd, seeing as how I haven't really used the phone at all today. The brightness is set at 40% and screen timeout to 30 seconds. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I suspect it may be a rogue application, unfortunately the Droid X does not show what applications are eating the battery in the manager.

Dec 28, 2009First of all, I love the Dock. It has replaced my nightstand clock ever since I bought it.Two worries thought:
1. Although I use the dimmed version of the dock app, isn't having the phone's screen on 8 hours a day going to have a negative effect on it (burn in, progressive dimness over time)?
2. Considering that by using the phone like this I am practically recharging the battery every night, even if it's only at about 50% - am I hurting the battery in any way? I know there's no memory effect, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's not good to keep it at 100% for too long either.

Feb 1, 2010What's your work around for e-mail notifications in the middle of the night. I really don't want to change setting every night just to set them back each morning. (the phone sits in the docking station on the nightstand). I guess I could just silent phone with the volume shortcut on the side of the phone, however if I receive a call or text in the middle of the night 99% of the time it is truly important. As stupid as it is, I have the crank yankers "I got mail" notification for my e-mail accounts for work and home. My wife says that if it goes off one more time in the night (lately about 3-4 times a night, & at all hours) she is going to smash my phone. Half the time it doesn't wake me up, and if it does, I can fall back asleep no problem. But for the sake of keeping wifey happy, I have to come up with a solution.

Nov 30, 2009I was wondering what kind of knowledge you guys have about the LI-ION batteries in this badboy. I see a lot of conflicting things online, and from what I gather...you shouldn't be charging overnight, and you shouldn't frequently do full cycle discharge. So, what is the best practice? Charging semi frequently and shutting it off at night? I dislike this because I use the phone as an alarm, and don't want to wake up with the battery starting at 90 for the day.
Also, if you're not supposed to charge overnight (which i've done with many other phones and they were fine), then if I do get the media dock...it would charge overnight every night as my alarm clock.... isn't that bad for the battery? I'm just concerned about ruining my battery, what have you guys heard, and what effects have you seen?

It seems like a huge pain to have to press an icon everytime I get in the car and everytime I leave to turn it back on, especially since I don't get too many calls while I'm driving. Is there a way to have BT cut on when the car dock app is activated (I have the Motorola car dock app)? And if not, does anyone know if the drain in battery on the DX is significant?
