Samsung Moment :: How To Change Pull - Up Menu?
Oct 13, 2010I am a big new b to everything you guys do on here. I am a very simple phone user, no rooting (I don't even know what that is, even after slightly glancing over the "All Things Root" forum). I had the guy at the Sprint store try to fix my Moment for me, and he did something to where my screen resembled this at the bottom. He just showed me what it could do and not really thinking about asking him how he did it, I went home knowing I would have a new phone in two days (because we couldn't get my problem fixed with just simple swipe & clean and updates). I went in to get my new phone today and put all my apps back on my phone and there wasn't any new apps or widgets other than the ones I had put on their originally. And of course the guy who was there to help me two days ago, wasn't there today and the guy who helped me today had NO idea what I was talking abut said it was probably an app he downloaded onto my phone. Anyways... how do you get that new screen? The guy had told me it was less glitch and I like how clean it looks, plus it would clear up a lot of the clutter I have, so I can add different clutter.

Oct 22, 2010Running a Bell Galaxy-S with 2.1 and the OCLF. Recently when I lock my phone or it just goes to sleep (screen shuts off) I can't unlock it. The screen just stays blank and it requires me to pull the battery and replace to boot it back up. There doesn't appear to be any consistency with this error and I haven't installed any new apps in recent time that would have changed the phone around.

On my old Samsung Galaxy S3, when you swipe down from the top of the screen and pull down notifications, at the top above notifications are buttons for common system settings to access (in order they are: Wi-Fi, GPS, Sound, Rotation, Bluetooth, Smart Stay, Airplane Mode, Power Saving, Hands-free mode, Screen Mirroring)
This was very useful because was easy to quickly access key functions. For example "1) swipe down and 2) press WiFi to turn on/off" or "1) swipe down and 2) press GPS to turn location on/off".
On my new Nexus 5 this functionality does not exist. When you swipe down to see notifications, key system buttons are not present. Instead there is a single system button in the upper right corner which you need to press to for common system settings (Brightness, Settings, WiFi, Mobile [ATT/Verizon], Battery, Airplane Mode, Bluetooth, Location)
This means to access common system settings requires an extra step. For example "1) swipe down, 2) press system button and 3) press WiFi to access WiFi page"
Is there a way to put these common system setting into the notification pull down menu?
General :: Facebook Notifications On Droid Maxx Pull-down Menu
Dec 8, 2013I just got a new Droid Maxx. I downloaded the Facebook app, but the problem is that it places all of my Facebook direct messages (emails, not "likes" or comments) on the main pulldown screen (the one where you swipe from the top when the phone is open).
I don't want this. I'm not a huge Facebook user, and I only want to see that stuff when I directly log into Facebook. I tried unchecking the box in Settings > Active Notifications, but these notifications are still appearing. With the iPhone, it was easy to simply turn off push notifications, but I can't seem to find this on the Droid Maxx.
Is there a setting I'm missing that controls the content that appears on the pulldown menu? How can I stop this from happening?

Sep 11, 2010I tried flashing my Galaxy S, but when i turned it on, it stayed on the boot menu for 10 minutes and nothing happened, so i had to remove the battery. I tired putting it in download mode and it didnt work eiter. When i plugged in the usb, it showed the charging icon with the loading sign, however the loading sign did not go away, again I had to remove the battery. Sep 1, 2010Just picked up the Epic yesterday, and already been having issues all day long. The phone has does this about 5 or 6 times today. It will fade away, and when I come back to it a little later to check messages or anything, it will all be blacked out, and nothing will come back. (by hitting the power button) No matter what I push, the screen stays black, and the phone seems like it is off. (A few times, the lights have stayed on, and the buttons act like they are responding, but nothing works still) It has also lost signal completely twice today, and I've had to restart it to get signal back.

Jan 5, 2013I'm running a Galaxy Nexus, and the ROM I'm currently on has a performance option in the Settings Menu, which gives control of the kernel and stuff. However, I'd rather use TricksterMod, and I would like to be able to launch TricksterMod from Settings instead of the Performance app.
So far, I've decompiled my Settings.apk, and looked through the files, and I'm not sure what to change.
I have to change settings esxmlsettings_headers.xml, correct? Specifically,

I would also have to change settings esvaluesstrings.xml, specifically, the string referenced by "@string/performance_settings_title" so that I can have the correct name, correct?
And similarly, settings esdrawable, for the icon.
The big question is, what do I replace with for "com.android.settings.performance.PerformanceSetti ngs"? Do I need to move TricksterMod somewhere specific, or what would I reference? dataappcom.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod-1.apk?
After making all these changes, I'd simply recompile and push the Settings.apk back without signing, correct? Have I missed any steps?

Nov 5, 2010When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted.How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number?In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown.When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
